  1. No fishing report???
  2. I've already caught a few Tarpon, so my my answer would be: 1. Tarpon 2. Tarpon 3. Tarpon ....50. Tarpon
  3. Plastic worms, senkos, and spinner baits. Pretty much the same stuff you would use up north. Here's some report from the Tampa area http://forums.capmel.com/tool/mb/capmel?forum=36323 http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=842063 Dont' forget your FLA fishing license.
  4. Fishing is great in Nip, the rest of these ranters are just bad fishermen
  5. That's one damn ugly fish. Almost looks alien like.
  6. If you don't mind going into the Clearwater area, there's a great inshore/nearshore guide that I've used the last couple of years. He's also a few hundred bucks cheaper than most of the guides in the area (app. $350.00 per day). His specialty is tarpon, but he does go after multi-species including, snook, redfish, and kingfish. He works at one of the local tackle shops, and you can reach him from the web site below, just ask for Tyson Wallerstein and tell him that Ari sent you. http://www.dogfishtacklecompany.com/id23.htm If you want more info specific to the Tampa area, visit the site below for some great articles, and an excellent message board. Utilize the search function in the message board for any specific questions that you may have, or ask the locals. If you aren't sure about any of the hundreds of available guides or charters, do a search on them as well. http://capmel.com/ Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
  7. Enjoy! http://www.break.com/index/bird-learns-how-to-fish.html
  8. I stayed at Bryer's twice and was very pleased with the accommodations, location etc. The French is littered with Bays, drops, islands, weedbeds, and structure. I recommend looking at previous posts for general fishing locations for Wolseley Bay. There are some trophy musky that cruise by the lodge daily. We were hanging out at the main lodge one day, which overlooks a rock shoal, and we saw two monster musky cruise by. Don't hesitate to throw out a live sucker bait from shore, I'm confident that you'll hook into a big ole pike or musky. I was fortunate enough to catch a 50+ musky about a 5-10 minute boat ride from the lodge. Good luck with your search.
  9. Aikman Sporting Goods 3010 Novar Rd. Mississagua, Ontario L5B 1S4 (905) 277-3595
  10. Bring lots of dough, Orlando has a way of sucking the money out of your wallet. Stay away from anything that says "Free Disney Tickets". There's a ton of agencies that give you free tickets, provided you attend a breakfast seminar, at which they will try to sell you time share. In regards to accommodations, you've got a zillion options in Orlando. I recommend using www.tripadvisor.com to review any hotel or resort that you stay inn. There are a ton of reasonably priced hotels close to Disney. We usually stay at The Meridian Palms (app. $80-90 night), 2 miles from Disney. Once in the park, use the "Fast Pass" options whenever possible. This will save you time waiting in lines for some of the rides / shows. Fast Pass is free, and you can find out more on Disney's website. Don't hesitate to pack a napsack full of frozen water and snacks cause the food is crappy and expensive. Send me a PM if you have more questions. Good luck
  11. I've got a couple cardinal 100u's. Good bang for the buck.
  12. Hey gang, Searching through Google, I couldn't find too many operators for Lake Scugog. Any recommendations for a 4-6 man hut rental? Thanks
  13. Wow! That must have filleted thousands of fish. It's now an ice pick.
  14. Can't go wrong with the Rapala knife. They're cheap and well made.
  15. You can try making your own. I made 4 last week using fluoro, but you can use wire as well. http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/exclu...rike/index.html
  16. Hilarious!!! I experienced the same thing while fishing the shores of Port Colborne a few years back. We had to walk through the nest of thousands of seagulls to get to our spot. Your post brought back some memories.
  17. I've used Simcoe Fishing Adventures a few times, and I'll be out with them again this Sunday. http://simcoefishingadventures.com/ They run a pretty good operation. I'm sure o few of the OFNers can vouch. Good luck!
  18. Bassman cause assman was inappropriate.
  19. Nice haul! Is there a season for fishing in Bama, or is it all year round?
  20. West Nipissing Resort http://www.westnipissingresort.com/ I've gone up the last couple of years with 6-7 guys ans stayed at their Chalets. Great Pike fishing right off of the dock, but you can also rent a boat and go for smallies, muskie and walleye. Ian's also a great host. Bryer's Lodge http://www.bryerlodge.com/ They're in Wolseley Bay on the French River. Same species as Nipissing. Good Luck!
  21. Thanks for the heads up. I just picked one up at CTC. There still a M,and 2 XL's left at the location in Oak Ridges. Cheers!!!
  22. mmmmmmmmmm...Grouper and Snapper...no snapper jokes please
  23. Guys, A very happy ending to the story. Both BPS and Abu Garcia have resolved this matter. Thanks for all of your help.
  24. Thanks for the tips guys. I did go to BPS today and they will not be honouring the promo, nor will they take back the Abu Garcia Revo that I bought. I did give BPS an opportunity to make amends, but unfortunately, I'll have to take it up the ladder to both the president of BPS and Abu Garcia. Funny enough, when I asked the fishing manager at BPS for his presidents name, he had no clue. I'll keep you posted with my progress, or lack of. Cheers!
