  1. I hope so!! I hope so!!
  2. LOL.. I hear ya Ron.. Its so pretty I barely want to put it in the water. My first trip into Jiggy last week, my 15 Johnson quit on me and I borrowed a 6 from Golden Eagle Camp for the week. I'd used these same motors before on lots of flyins, but forgot just how nice they purred.. it also weighs considerably less and is easier to get off and on the boat. Been wanting to get one of these for a while, but it was hard to justify when I had motor(s) that would do the job. Anyway sometimes ya just gotta splurge and these units are only gonna get scarcer, so i figured now was the time! NO Roy your kids will always be 6... lol
  3. Poor poor Geeky Guy with Glasses...
  4. Yup.. finally broke down and adopted the baby we wanted. 6 years old but owned by an elderly gentleman in Espanola. In mint shape with less than 20 hours on her. My other babay had been home long enough, and it was time for something new and a bit lighter, the other baby was hard on my back. (Its hell to get old ya know) So after being told it would be next to impossible to adopt a smaller 6hp 2-stroke in good condition, I searched and found this one pretty darn quick and snatched it up. Its a shame that Yamaha stopped making them, their 2-stoke line was likely the most dependable. I can't wait to get it on my 12' tinny and do some real back lake exploring!
  5. WOW!
  6. Im at camp and there is no ice on the river.. and VERY little snow left in the bush.

  8. I would really like to know how the MNR can have the stones put out a press release like this one... when they are adamant about stocking not helping Lake Nipissing, EVEN if they do not have to fund it. ------------- Across Ontario, millions of fish from provincial fish culture stations are being loaded onto trucks, boats and aircraft for stocking into public waters to help support a recreational fishery valued at more than $2.4 billion per year. Ontario operates nine fish culture stations in the province. Each year, these facilities produce and stock approximately 8.5 million fish into more than 1,200 lakes and rivers, including the Great Lakes. Fish stocking creates more angling opportunities, rehabilitates degraded fish populations and helps restore biodiversity. Fish are also indicators of environmental change and fish populations provide early warning signals about potential problems in the environment. Protecting and enhancing local biodiversity is part of the Ontario government’s plan to enhance quality of life for families and ensure a strong, green economy for future generations. QUOTE “Ontario fisheries are a significant resource contributing to Ontario's economy and recreational angling opportunities. We all have a role to play to ensure a healthy, diverse fishery for everyone to enjoy and to pass on to future generations.” — David Orazietti, Minister of Natural Resources QUICK FACTS Ontario invests approximately $5.5 million a year (editors note... PEANUTS) in fish culture and stocking activities. Each year, about 1.3 million anglers spend an average of 16 days fishing in Ontario. The province manages 24 per cent of Canada's fresh water, including 40 per cent of the Great Lakes and countless rivers and streams. Species stocked include Atlantic salmon, aurora trout, brook trout, brown trout, splake, lake trout, lake whitefish, rainbow trout, walleye, muskellunge and Chinook salmon. There are approximately 250,000 inland lakes in Ontario.

  15. I think the problem is that the pump ius thermostat controled and i dont want to over heat the motor so im only running it in 3-4 min short bursts.. but theres no water discharge, so maybe its not warm enough, but i don't want to over heat it... kinda a catch 22
  16. Thanks guys.. i put it in the barrel.. and ran it a bit its running without the choke on now, but doesnt like to idle down.. seems like the more i run it the better it gets. Hasn't kicked on the water pump yet. Ill try Bernie.
  17. Forgive me if I ask some stupid questions.. but other than my honda ive never dealt with a small 34 stroke. Ok.. So I picked up a small 2.5 hp yamaha 4 stroke. MINT. Its been stored a while. It runs... but only really well when the choke is on so im thinking letting it run for a bit would help.. But I cant can really see where the water input in is (if there even is one)... I want to let it run, but dont want to mess it up by not having it in the water....... Help.. this is new territory for me and I want to make sure its running well before i take it in the bush.
  18. Paper shredder .. fast.
  19. Ya know Gerritt. We're just humans, trying to do the best job we can, geez its just a message board bud. I'm sorry if each and everyone of us doesn't continue to reach your lofty expectations, but that's just the way it is.. Im sorry your done with us, you've been a valued member who has benefited in many ways from this forum. I'm sorry you think its gotten so bad that you have to leave but that's (as its every members decision) entirely up to you. Ya know you asked if you could "borrow" our rules for your own message board and we said sure. I hope they work better for you than they do for us. I wish you all the luck in the world bud and I'm sorry to see you go. Never to post here again I guess. As for Fish Hawk, I hope they get up and running quick as possible. I know what its like to get hacked, and it aint no fun. Good luck Gerritt, no hard feelings dude.
