Very nice man. Congrats!

Glad to see the Ministry is hard at work. I just wish the fines had been larger and the suspensions longer! https://www.todaysnorthumberland.ca/2018/06/04/3000-in-fines-and-licence-suspensions-for-fishing-offences-port-hope/

Peter backs boat down the ramp like a pro
LittleWorm replied to PUMP KNOWS's topic in General Discussion
Still better then I can do. Good at many things but backing a trailer up using my mirrors is not one of them. I look like a monkey &^%$(*& a football trying to use my mirrors to back a trailer up. -
Wow, nice grab for $20!

Congrats man.

Dutch01, IS this in Cobourg? Many years ago we use to go up to Cobourg and rent private land off a farmer who has a stream run through his land. He had it all sectioned off and it was really nice. We paid $10 per person per day and there was usually 7-10 of us just in our section. I can't even imagine how much money he hade every year from opening weekend with all the land he had and the amount of people he rented it our to. I haven't been up there in 20 some years.

What should I look for in a Baitcaster?
LittleWorm replied to LittleWorm's topic in General Discussion
Pm, sent Darkwater. -
I have never used a baitcaster but have always been interested in trying. I don't want to spend a lot of money on something I am not sure I will like ( or be able to use with my coordination ). Since I really don't know anything about them what are some things I should look for in one? I see Canadian Tire with clearance ones now and then for $60 and up for a reel/rod combo. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ugly-stik-gx2-medium-heavy-2-piece-baitcast-combo-6-5-ft-0775317p.html#srp http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/quantum-solo-medium-2-piece-baitcast-combo-6-ft-6-in-0775328p.html#srp Are these nothing but crap that I should stay away from or would they be something that's of to pick up and see if I like and can use a baitcaster? Another question I have is how much better is a baitcaster vs my Zebco Omega reel? I can cast and pitch very well with my Omega and it has a great drag system, and for a spincast reel it was quite expensive ( over $100 ) so I am not sure just how much better a baitcaster would be. I fish Walleye, pike and bass as well as pan fish ( perch/crappie ) . So right now I have a spincast and a spinning reel/reels and I like them and they work for me so not sure if moving to a baitcaster would be worth it. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make the best informed decision I can and want to get as much knowledge as I can. Thanks, Eric

So I decided to order https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01JVKUO8W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&th=1 and give it a try. I figure $25 is not the end of the world if is not good and if it is then its a lot cheaper then PP. Well it arrived today and they sent me the wrong damn one. Instead of the 20lb 500y moss green they sent me a spool of 50lb 1500y moss green. Ugggggg 50lb is much more then I will ever need ,,, unless I throw it on me spincast Zebco 808. I don't have baitcaster and all my other reels are spinning reels so the 50lb is to heavy .

Last year I switched from just mono to Braided line to a fluro leader. I put on 10LB Power Pro braid with a 12BL fluoro leader and found such a HUGE difference from the mono I use to use ( will never go back to mono!), I t was so much more sensitive and I could fell things way better. Now I only got out a few time last year ( 3-4 ) due to some medical problems and I never really caught anything to big. This year I hope to get out way more then last year and now I am worried that the braid may be to light. I fish Walleye, Pike, and Bass. I found this https://www.amazon.ca/Reaction-Tackle-Green-100LB-150yds/dp/B01JVKUO8W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1524201547&sr=8-7&keywords=braided%2Bfishing%2Bline&dpID=51dV90GPsnL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1&psc=1 on Amazon and I also checked other sights and it seems to have really good reviews and for $25 for 500 yards seems like a really good deal. Should I stay at the 10LB braid or go up to the 20LB test. They are the same prices so it only comes down to what the better set up is.

I have not fished them in 20 years or so but my dad and myself kept them when we do go out for them. A good deep fried bullhead feed was always tasty growing up. Thanks Mike, I figure in another week or 2 they should be biting pretty good I hope.

Thanks everyone for the reply. This how I thought it was but wanted to make sure first.

I live in Cornwall so I fish both Zone 20 and Zone 18. I was looking to go out this year for mudpout/bullhead but looking at the regulations I can not find anything about when the season is open or your limit. I do see channel cat is open all year and the limit is 12 but bullheads are not the same. I can also fins season and limits for crappie, sunfish, pearch, ect.... Since I can not find anything about Bullhead I am assuming ( I know , assuming is dangerous ) that Bullhead is open year round with no limit. Does anyone have any information? Like I said, I have read and re-read the regulations for zones 18 and 20 but can not find anything and I want to make sure I am not breaking any laws. Thanks for any help Eric

Spring Walleyes....finally some open water fishing
LittleWorm replied to cl_fishin's topic in General Discussion
Great video man, thanks for sharing! I couldn't agree with you more about releasing the big females. I HATE to see people keeping the ones we know are females, just such a waste. BTW, where did you get the sniper shads? I can't find them anywhere around the area I live ( Cornwall ) . -
Not sure what that is about but TAHNK YOU for the post, I forgot all about my PAL licence and it expired in December. Guess I better get on that before I get a knock on the door.lol

Thank you very much Cisco, This set up sounds exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone for the advice, Gives us some thing we can try. Oh, Old Ironmaker, my dad is 78. Guess what a person considers old is how old they are. When I was 15 I thought 40 was old, not that I'm in my 40's I think 78 is old, maybe if I make it to 78 I will think 100 is old.lol
