  1. How do you sort the males from the females?
  2. Take your reels into your local tackle shop and have them spool it for you. Write down what you have on masking tape and stick it on the reel seat bracket. Off the top of my head, I think you're good for 275yrds 30lb mono backing and 100yrds 80lb power pro. You'll never need more than 100yrds of braid for cat's and ski's. If you ever do need the backing, PLEASE let me know where you're fishing! -Brian
  3. Last year there were exceptional deals. With the Canuck buck on the slide, I don't know if there will be the same bargains. Last year I saw a nice 07' Lund (new/old stock) Sport Angler 1800 with a 90 4 stroke for $21. I would have bought it on the spot if... A - I had the money B - If I had the room for 2 boats C - If I had permission D - All of the above Please do Rob! PM me if you lost my cell number and maybe we can hook up. LOL!! I gave away too many already, I have to pay for my kids to get in! Probably me! I'm changing the seating in my boat and I'll have a couple like-new seats for sale. As for new products? Not sure about seats, I don't recall seeing them. Trolling motors, almost sure there will be some there. I know Joc at Angling Outfitters should have some and he always has re-furbs for sale at the store. If you know what you want, deal with him at the show and pick it up at the store.
  4. With all the talk about poor deals, parking, shrinking attendance; I thought I would add some promotion for the London Show. I've attended the last few years and it's as good or better each year! There are very few non-outdoor related exhibits. My only complaint is not finding any ATM's! Most of the boats are for fishing but there are several big ones there the kids like to explore. There is also camping trailers, tent trailers and ATV's. Plenty of fishing stores including Wally's (they have had some awesome deals!), Angling Outfitters (Emil saved a ton on downriggers last year). Come on out and support my local fishing show! http://www.boatcottagefishingshow.com/main.htm Fri Feb 20 12PM-9PM Sat Feb 21 10AM 7PM Sun Feb 22 10AM-5PM Plenty of free parking Adults $10 Seniors $8.00 Kids (6-12) $3.00 Western Fair Grounds MAP: http://tinyurl.com/cx9s5m A group of us will be meeting for breakfast before the show on Saturday at 9AM The Big City Diner MAP: http://tinyurl.com/dx5u8k
  5. It's hard to justify going to the show when everything is available at your fingertips. Shopping, information, reviews etc. are all a google search away. For those that have to put thier hands on an item before they buy, it's a good place to do so. For those that just want to get out and do something fishing related, it's great for them. I think the combination of an aging demographic and internet access limits thier ability to attract new visitors. The 'deals' are the same as they used to be, maybe even better than the old days percentage-wise but those same deals can be had so many other places. -Brian
  6. You're not worth it... like pi$$ing into the wind. I know what I saw and I know what I heard... keep spending money on your 88 gear.
  7. This isn't F1 (allowed initial block), you're allowed to block all you want. Did you watch the replay? I watched them and listened too. What burns me most is that he intended to spin him out... listen to the in-car replay when he says "I'll bump him" as he does it. I know you're in love with the guy but are you actually defending him?
  8. "I'll bump you". The jackass might regret that statement when Nascar considers his suspension.
  9. Ahhhh, soft water. Can't wait!! Thanks for the report.
  10. It's a weak show with very no payoff. I normally have WFN on while doing other things and I'll pay attention when I find something intriguing. When his show comes on, I have been switching the channel. I'll even sit through Courtney and Shelly; that's how much Moore's new format turns me off.
  11. I agree!!! "we're gonna catch the SAME BASS NINE TIMES".... I counted, it's more like 47. Nice show JP, I was wondering where you were hiding!
  12. Hey Mike, maybe we could hookup for a quick trip.. something to think about.
  13. I got ripped off from Mike's Reel Repair. Ordered parts, paid through PayPal and never heard anything since. It was my fault for not following up in time but I was only out about $12. No replies, no calls returned.... dirtbag operation in my opinion.
  14. I'm just happy when they answer quickly; I don't care where they are from or what their native language might be. I've found that most are completely professional and patient with our inane questions or asking them to repeat themselves. I would imagine staffing a 24 hour call center in Canada would be an enormous task and companies might be opting for overseas options for more reasons than just cost saving.
  15. I saw it too. I bet it's really fun when you get upside down and power yourself into the pump face first!
  16. Keeping track of what I eat has really helped... from a 46" waist to 40" so far... 350 to 285lbs. I was diagnosed with Diabeties and had to maintain blood sugar levels, eat at regular intervals and monitor my meals. One of the huge benefits of weight loss for me has been getting my blood pressure back under control. My last check up was 106/72 for my MTO Physical. Severely restricting pasta, bread, potatos and rice (high carbs) has really been key for me. A no-carb/high protein diet would probably be best for me but I'm not willing to give up carbs forever! I'm now at a point where just watching what I eat won't cut it - time for more wading and less trolling.
  17. Keep them seperate or they'll multiply.
  18. I just wanna go salmon fishing... I wouldn't even mind looking at a Humminbird!
  19. A Depth Raider
  20. That's the plan Stan. I bought a tube fly mandrel and I need a few more supplies before I 'tackle' the procedure! Lay it on me Joe, I have big padded shoulders, I can take it! I hadn't thought about the Challengers until you mentioned it but in thinking it through... I wonder if the dressed treble would slow down the action of the bait. Added drag on the treble straightening out the body? Thanks again for the kind remarks! Some more pic's... I love this one! Too much thread This one was a blast to make. It was my Daughters design and she stood over my shoulder wringing her hands in anticipation. She's such a cutie! And a few trebles... I'm having a blast with this!!! I can't wait to start tying feathers. -Brian
  21. Probably every newer model and limited older models but I'm sure it could be adapted. I think model designation has most to do with bracket design - not positive.
  22. It's the older "D" series, new ones are "E" series. You might be able to find it used a tad cheaper but it's a great reel. If you're getting into baitcasters, it's a great way to do it. Buy a great reel once and avoid frustration.
  23. 1996 Tahoe with 3 billion km's. It's tough on gas towing or not but I love the power! I also have an Astro, good and stable for towing but lacks a bit with tthe 4.3L.
  24. Looking good! I've been working on a few myself. Great way to pass the time. -Brian
  25. What's it like to be Dan?
