ICE WARNING - Midland/Penetanguishene Area
SlowPoke replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
I guess you had no choice. Ya know, if it wasn't for that meddling almost president putting the brakes on global warming, we could all be out fishing by now. -
I don't have a Lund but they have a great reputation. Lund warranty (since 06 I believe) is now transferable which will further bolster thier already great resale value.

ICE WARNING - Midland/Penetanguishene Area
SlowPoke replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
I know you're anxious to get your new boat in the water but calling in an ice breaker is a little over the top. -Brian -
Congrat's on the new Legend Legend's and Trophy's give you a lot for the money but are not at the top of the list in terms of quality, longevity or resale. If you plan on spending most of your time on Lake O, a big heavy glass boat is nice. If you plan on trailering to smaller lakes a lot, a big light aluminium boat is nice. You might have to give up a casting deck to get a cuddy.

Glad I'm not the only tackle geek around here. My "Brother P-Touch" label maker got a workout this off-season too. Sure makes life easy picking boxes for an outing. I need a muskie storage solution, those Plano 3700 boxes are too small. I will probably get a Special-Mate for my trolling spoons too leaving the SlowPoke Tackle Casket© home to all the other species.

I miss the capitals CC. Your reports have gone downhill since you stopped using capitals.

The clue showing the scale with the gold ball is misleading... you don't actually get the gold ball out of the combination. The picture is to illustrate that there is more different about the balls than just colour. If you need a better clue PM me. -Brian -
Joey, You preselect 2(a),4(,2© before the deadline and accrue qualifying points. Then you select 1(a),2(,1© for the race. You can change your 1(a),2(,1© up until just before the race.

Your "A" list is Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne.... I'm guessing you picked Kahne on a dare or you did it by accident and you're running Stewart tomorrow.

Your point about air matresses makes sense. Have a look at Forrest City Surplus in London for a cot... http://www.fcsurplus.ca/shopping/shopdispl...p;cat=Camp+Cots

I just replied to Mo's BPS shopping post and suggested that she could name her new rod after Tyler. For those that don't know the back story, Mo received a gift card from BPS in appreciation for her efforts in organizing a fund raiser "Fishing For Tyler". Naming fishing rods has never been a practice of mine and until recently I never gave it any thought. Last week I bought a boat. I had originally looked at it last summer and we could not do a deal because there was a problem with the trailer registration as it had been inheireted by the son (Brad) and was not correctly transferred into his name. It took until last week for the MTO to sort things out and Brad contacted me and we did the deal. It was a tough negotiation as Brad and I had gotten to know eachother a bit and I knew there was an emotional attachment to the boat but in the end we were both satisfied with our agreement. Among other goodies, Brad gave me a rod that was given to his father as a gift. A very nice Shimano Triton 300 and a Fenwick trolling rod. It occured to me when I got home that naming the rod after his father would be a nice gesture. I think Brad was appreciative of the gesture and commented that his mother was tickeled by my intention. I now have a rod named Lou, or Louis as he was called when he was in trouble with his wife! -Brian

Sounds like these rods are a great buy (for the money). I've read elsewhere that the guides stand up well for wire too. Thanks for the input folks! -Brian

Well done Mo... Time to name that rod. How about Tyler? -Brian

You might have done the same thing I did... I thought it was a picture of a bunny but its a duck. Change your orange bunny to match the duck picture. -
The plug is the $1.99 part that will determine whether you have a good day on the water or a bad day in the water. -Brian

After setting the animal codes did you press the button to open the drawer? -

my wife and I are playing on two computers... codes were different. We're both stuck on the ball code in the wall and we need the gold ball for the scale. Is there a hint within the game for the ball code combination? nevermind, figured it out.... duh. -
What kind of boat? Utility, fishing, fish & ski? Mostly for water sports or fishing?

Setting up my boat for trolling and I would like to pick up some extra rods. I'm not looking for recommendations, I know what I would buy if money wasn't an issue - just looking for opinions on these Heartland rods. Looking for 2 downrigging rods 8'-9' for salmon Also looking for 2 dipsy rods 9'-10' forbows and salmon. These rods are really cheap at $30, are they a good value or a waste of money? -Brian

I hope I don't make any spelling mistakes... Questions... By multi-species, are you thinking 1-5lbs or over? Will this setup be used for trolling as well? Would you prefer low-profile or round baitcaster? -Brian

Thanks Moose, you just saved me $3000 on a fly-in trip of a lifetime! -Brian
