  1. LOL I hope mine is a little longer next time out. Cheers and thanks for the quick read this might just be the shortest post for 2010 now how many replies will it get for nothing
  2. Good luck Lew I wish I had been out more this summer to give them a go but again I had to make changes to next weeks plans and am not heading to Cameron to see how well I could do. Hope you guys do well up there
  3. Hey al I am in need of making up a banner for my lures but I have no idea where to make one I have word and have looked at other things on the net but have not found a good place to make one. Any help thanks Mike
  4. Not sure if Lowes here in Canada sells them but they have them at Lowes in the USA if anyone is over there they are cheaper them here in a fishing store.
  5. Welcome aboard great first post always great to see father and son out fishing
  6. I had forgotten that Lew and its a good point for all your tools have them on the phone cord or extra pliers around if they go in the drink . Go to the Dollar store but the phone cord 25' and a good quick snap or what ever they are called the best ones are used for rock climbing but the dollar store ones work good for your tools cut the ends off then crimp and tape or shrink tube them to your tools.
  7. Bolt cutters can and will save a musky's life for every musky hunter one day they are very important to have. Cutters are used if you have a badly hooked ski you can cut the hook out fast and get her back into the water also as you pointed out for a deep hooked fish you can use them to cut the hook out and yes from everything I have heard and read over the years hook's fill work loose from the fish if cut off. As for cutters to use most musky hunters use knipex cutters as they are about the best out there but they cost alot more then the CTC ones. The ones from Prinsess auto or CTC are fine they will do the job but they are alot harder to get through a 6/0 hook. If you have cheaper one for now that would do for the rest of this season if you get to the USA or are heading to the Muskies Canada Odyssey in April there is usually some one selling them around $45 Canadian. I use jaw spreaders if needed but most of the time I dont need them.
  8. I dont know if I would redo the handle well it depends on the condition but I know for me i would like to keep the same one that he made it with. Cant wait to see how it turns out Buster if you looking for a new knife check out Big Catch Outdoors they make some of teh best knives around and also have a great tool for helping you clean fish http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104426387008
  9. some nice eyes there I hope to get up there one of these days I have been talking to Linda at Moosehorn lodge and sure would love to take a trip up there they sure do have some nice pics of them big musky from up there.
  10. it was so bad down here we had to go out fishing and catch nothing again
  11. Handlebarz musky lures http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=150767838267828 I have been making them for a few years now but just started to sell them to stores this year I do offer OFC discount and can meet up with members some where between Windsor and Barrie for delivery to save on shipping. Feel free to join my facebook group. Cheers Mike
  12. Dang Ronnie that is one great deal but I here there are not any fish in Rice Lake are you going to be doing some guiding for the ones who stay there?
  13. Shaun that to funny I think I remember that episode when you were on Erie rigging for salmon in that one you had the hot blond with you or was that the twins???
  14. I just placed another order today also from them they are great and Steves customer service is second to none I get all my powder paint from them and have also bought the air brush for it man that works good just remember to bake you work after painting stuff as it will make it rock hard. The prices are great and like others have said the best in Canada and usually next day shipping and by that i mean 90% of my orders are at my door the next day no messing around from them. They also have great info on how to do stuff on there site its very usefull to get started. Oh yeah back to the first question tire weights are what most people use and I would suggest that anyone melting lead keep the kids out of the room just in case there is a spill.
  15. I know that down here if they pay the fine they get the stuff back which to me is a joke and there was (I dont know if there is now) no place for officers to check and see how many times in the past you were charged I would think that they should have a system to check and see how many times you were caught in the past. I don't like the idea that you pay the fine you get it back I would think that stuff should go to auction and the $$$ placed back into the MNR. You also have to watch out down here for people who don't like people who report poachers we have a bunch who don't give a crap and will black ball and bash people for calling the tips line which is sad if you ask me. Our MNR officers are good down here and have always treated me great but I do the same to them they are just doing there job.
  16. Good job on the lure hunt its nice to here these stories and Ebay is great for finding that special something heck that's how I found this place I was sick of looking on Ebay and searched Ontario fishing and sorry but your all stuck with me since.
  17. Hey Shaun welcome back you were missed as you know there are a lot of people here that like your show a lot I hope that you miss the 1 million by 1 person as I don't think that some one need to be rewarded for calling out a non spam thread even if you have been missing for a bit now but anyone who has been here long enough knows that as this family is like many others some drift away with there off line life and will come back, just one check to your profile could have told them that you were a long time member. Bassman I don't mean any disrespect to you but it seems there are to many who right away get on the wagon before knowing what is going on I also find it funny that you did not remember Shaun from years gone by as you have also been here for a long time I am not taking a shot at you at all just hope others will look at it as a positive and give long time members a chance for there posts just send a message to the MODS. I think it is great that your show will be back as it was another good show to watch right now there are not that many good shows out there I don't want to mention others that are great shows as this is not about there shows they know how we feel any way but just wanted to be another to give you props for a great show that had a good following. I will also join the facebook page and look forward to the new shows.
