I would head to Woodstock and talk to Jocelyn Leung at Angling Outfitters, he carries Lowrance and Humminbird, he knows his stuff! And I think he deals in used stuff/trade ins.
Anyone have any issues with the original US ?
The transducer in mine seems frigged up, the pings go 5 fast ones, and then about 1 a sec for 4 or 5, then back to 5-6 real fast ones...
Reason I'm asking is I have a 48" PowerDrive, and the shaft is long enough, barely, but I quite often have it lowered all the way down. I was considering switching to a Maxxum, and I see the longest shaft seems to be 52"
Jim, its great to have you and Corey as members of the Hamilton Chapter! You'll have to try to make it to our Outing on the Pickerel River at the end of September.
Lots of structure to fish in the North end, Hurricane Point, Redrock, Amburgs reef, Dropping Reef, Boardinghouse Reef, Vivians Shoal, Steamboat Island, Bottom Islands, Lighthouse rock, Gordon Rocks...
Not a bad idea! Raf, I always wonder why you don't belong to Muskies Canada? You could help organize the 2011 Odyssey, as of right now we lack for people stepping up!
Brought to you by the Hamilton and K/W Chapters of Muskies Canada!
April 25th ain't far off, what's better than fighting the crowds at the local tribs? Come see Aaron Shirley, Bob Mehsikomer,Larry Ramsell, and MNR Biologists Jason Borwick and Arunus Liskaukus give thier presentations.
JBs Fishing Depot will have all their Muskie gear there, many local custom bait makers and more!
All proceeds raised by Muskies Canada go back into the fishery via MNR projects!!!
This is your chance to help! Come out and help support Muskie Conservation!

Thats great news, one of the nicest Muskie Ambassadors around wearing the MCI patch!
Ron, I'm happy to hear things are going so well, perhaps now you can give me back the members you stole...LOL
No surprises with such a great crew to start things off, can't wait for the Outing!
I have several St Croix Premiers and they are great rods, always heard good things about their warranty. Compres are nice rods for the money and have a lifetime warranty. I have a St Croix Triumph Bass rod and really like it, and it was a great price. The SC Legend Tourney rods are by far the nicest, lightest Muskie rods i've held(have not fished with one, yet) But so far I've done well and not dropped the $300+ for one...yet...
They are hard to control if the power in on all the time. Try just using bursts at slower speeds, its more of a on/off correcting type of control. That being said, the constant on/off is noisier and more likely to spook fish. One of my goals this year is to use the electric less...I have a 55 PD as well.
