  1. That is slow for the 401
  2. Bigger floats = more shot, which gets the bait down quicker... If you have a relatively short run that you know the fish are in, there is no point in running a small float and only getting the bait down to the fish in the last few feet of the drift. Bulk shot that sucker and get it down into the zone!!!!
  3. No other boats out, except for a car topper that was ramming ice at the mouth. All that room and they decide to smash ice about 15ft from us. I am sure the fish enjoyed all that noise.
  4. Fidel, the stars will align sometime dude!! We'll be pounding steel in no time bud.
  5. The fish are still there whether or not the river is blown. They just can't see anything What you need to do is compare the days you are on the river with the flow charts. Then you can get an idea on what flow number compares to what water condition.
  6. No issues at all with this stuff on my muskie setup. Addikted: Remember, you aren't a fish Don't put ot much thought into wondering what a fish see's...
  7. hahaha!!! Those pics make that bank look really small. I never though I'd highside my oldmans 2500HD Duramax but I did it yesterday. The ramp itself was great, but the snowplows made a nice little obstacle over the winter. A bit of digging later and all the weight was over the wheels and not the front skidplate, lol. It sure was fun to lay the hammer down in 4LO and displace some snow. Good day for sure, not a huge number of fish, but man were they ever pretty!! Mike put a clinic on today on how to read water. Luckily I paid attention.. Thanks again Mike! till next time bud
  8. Good job man!!! Got into a couple up on the Sauble today :)
  9. I think I am going to hit either Severn River, Gloucester Pool or Little Lake for crappies when ice out hits.
  10. Canadian Tire has 1000yd spools of Trilene XL for $6.99. Beats any deal at BPS, lol
  11. I was going to say Canadian Bearing. They can get you anything, they'll have to order it in though. I used to use them for suspension bearings all the time in my dirtbikes. So much cheaper then OEM (And it's the exact same thing) They should be able to get you some Barden/F.A.G bearings..
  12. I thought Lorne got out of the tackle business?
  13. Wayne, did you wipe all of my drool off the car? lol
  14. 150hp gutless wonder, lol Wasn't that thing just on Ebay for something like 20k Buy It Now?
  15. Frozen smelt + bobber
  16. Oh the stories we could tell you, eh Mike? lol!!!! That was a 'No Wake' sign, that side of the creek isn't posted.
  17. *fist pump*
  18. Take the draft pic...
  19. I dunno if I have a favourite town, but there are certain places that I pass that means I am on my way!!! Port Severn for example when the Canadian shield really starts to show it's face. Any of the dirt sideroads I hit when chasing specs, just can't beat the smell for some reason...
  20. Erik, your buddy lips everything!!!! Awesome man, just be safe out there!
  21. A little bit of mono backing always helps
  22. Leechman, that's awesome!!! I am sure you are extremely proud of her... I suck so badly at 5 pin it's not funny, I'll stick to fishing, lol
  23. Dude, I'm a newb to, don't get me wrong. I'm just lucky enough to fish with some extremely knowledgeable guys... I ask a lot of questions and make sure I remember their answers At this time of year the fish aren't going to run a whole lot for a small bag or jig. I've been using big gooey quarter sized roebags with success. Some other guys fish nothing but jigs and do just as good. I guess it's all personal preference. Biggest thing is putting your bait infront of the fish... 'learning' a river is the hardest thing I have found. I could make 10 drifts, my buddy comes along makes one and smashes a fish. The difference? He knew where the fish would be... I still fumble around with my casts and get some backlash or whatever now and again. It's all apart of the game, just keep at it...
