  1. Welcome Russ, And man, what a first report!!!!! No fish?
  2. The only PVR Bell offers with the dual tuner is the HD model....
  3. Nice fish man, conditions seemed gin clear, a tough fish for sure.
  4. Swap out the trebles to some single Siwash hooks on those spinners. You'll reduce the amount of snags you get and the hook up percentage is about as good.
  5. I wish.. Combat fishing at it's finest.. Mike and I avoided the Gauntlet of Rubes!!!
  6. A nice steelie from this weekend. Love the colours on this one..
  7. Why not hire a guide? They aren't just there to make sure you catch fish... You'll learn more in one day out on the water, then you have in the past 4 years.. Great investment if you ask me.
  8. Just an FYI, I would spend more $$$ on a rod then a reel. Most reels do a decent job.. But the difference in rods can be night and day...
  9. Way to go Fidel!!!! Mike and I had an interesting adventure on Saturday, lol
  10. I fished FrogHair flouro today for the first time, no complaints at all.
  11. Jim, I'll make sure to take as many pics as I can of my reel completely immersed in the water.
  12. That top one looks like a juvenile resident fish. Second one is very atlantic salmonish like...
  13. You're not poaching unless you are doing it on purpose, everyone ends up snagging a fish once in a while inadvertently. I belly hooked a steelhead a few week's ago on the Saugeen. In about 6ft of water out in the middle of a run, lol.. I thought I had the fish of the day the way it took off downstream and me chasing behind it. Thought it was a 15lb fish for sure...It was about 5 It happens!
  14. Dude, no one is bashing you here. We are just saying that a fish can get snagged in a shallow river a lot easier then they can out in the lake. To bad you didn't get a look at the monster that took you downstream. Would have made losing it a lot easier I'm sure.
  15. Time to upgrade? lol I have a 13'6 Raven IM6 as one of my spares, you are more then welcome to borrow the top section until your warranty replacement comes in. Only prob is I'm in Barrie and you're in Whitby...
  16. Don't make a decision until you've held the reels in your hand... No need to rush this decision, gotta remember you'll have this thing for quite a while.
  17. I got real lucky and landed my first fish on a pin (It was all of about 3lbs, lol) Just take it easy and don't horse it.
  18. Not in the fast water though... I've ripped a spinner across a steelheads back before and it went nuts! Even casting at Port Hope for chinnies a month or so ago.. You'd rack one across the back and it would take off 100yrds before you even knew what happened...
  19. You can take the bearing to a company called 'Canadian Bearings' or any bearing company for that matter and they'll match them up for you... They should able to get you various grades also.. I did the same thing when replacing the rear swingarm suspension in my old RM250... $150 for bearings from the dealer, $47 from a bearing place, lol
  20. You'll come out of there with a lighter wallet!!!! I love my Ang Spec.
  21. Another reason you want a longer rod... Keep the line out of the water when you get a fish on Every little bit helps! Sounds like you guys had a great night.
