  1. Yeah...I was asked to help a team with some bass ideas that had entered that tourney Definitely some honker smallies in there My buddy does really well on Rainy in the fall for Willy's
  2. PS I was gonna start a Pro-Staff Tourney team--- With past tourney winners---but the bar was set with your last win at 3oz Just kiddin Dude Nice catch on Rainy---I fished that lake years ago but for a pre-fish for that big bass tourney outta the Fort
  3. OK--here's an example I was just on Kijiji (Renfrew County) There's a 14 ft boat/motor and trailer---2400 dollars I can't seem to post the link here---but not hard to find I have zero idea about how good or bad it is??
  4. Yup Sometimes it's all about makin lemonade when your given lemons years ago my son and I were in a bass tourney----long story short-----started into the day---I hit a rock with my prop and mangled it really good. We could still move but like 2mph tops Well I told him (who was very dis-heartened) that we'd keep fishin and stay put and try and make the best of it---well a couple hours before weigh in-----we started catchin huge smallies-------I gave us enough time to limp into the weigh in Guess who won? Including Big fish of the tourney I'm thinkin that had my prop been good----probably would not have stayed in that spot
  5. Thanks Urban Fisherman Yeah the selling of our big old house in town seemed all encompassing---you know the drill---tidy house---show house etc etc etc Port Rowan???...I think I was there many years ago?-----Think I fished Steelhead around there somewhere ....Ryerse (sp) seems to come to mind Artwork....Yes still painting but mostly on the sandblasted cedar now---I will do canvas if asked -----but this new venture is keeping us busy Something different----getting tremendous feedback I hope to get down your way again before I kick off----always liked stopping in Dover at the Arbour Dog
  6. If you check Kijiji regularly---I see little 14 footers with regularity You may have to find several sellers for boat/motor and trailer And like all said---test it out Getting towed back to shore somewhat stinks
  7. Looks great---and like all little kids----when the fishin gets slow----there's always the minnows in the bucket to chase around
  8. Nice Fish there MB2
  9. Thanks RC I'm always happiest in or around da bush I'll keep my howlin to a minimum
  10. Or any statement that starts with........."Hey guys...Watch This!!!!"
  11. Ya---I'm thinkin those would be a good idea for those hard to get to spots
  12. Thanks Bri Ya still hittin those little cricks for trout around your way?
  13. Aw man You comin outta Larson Bay--headin past Stewart Isle---you drove past about 400 of my ole fishin spots I hear your ice road is kaput this year---that's not cool that much snow is gonna cull that deer herd up there for sure I remember one year the ice wasn't off for walleye opener---maybe again??
  14. Thanks Art It's really kind of neat doing this stuff Granted have to be somewhat exact in masking the image to be not sandblasted (and remains raised)---but I'm usually up for a challenge Like this one-----I visited my local taxidermist and bought some "eyes" off him---did for the loon as well Apparently he tells me---he's not allowed to mount loons---even if someone finds one floating---mnr rules
  15. "Re-InCarnation" ......I always thought that condensed milk from dead cows Hello all Finally back on track here again Been some changes in the ole painter's life We spent the better part of last year selling our house----we did... and now live in da bush ...Agin Much rather listen to the wolves and coyotes sing than lots of neighbors With the house thing---didn't log too much fishin time last year.......so I may be re-tellin stories for a bit Also...the wife and I got this idea---where we take my painting experience and apply it on Sandblasted Western Red Cedar It's turning out rather cool.....If you see an ad pop up at the top called "Ced_Art"...that's us We figured that a lot of places doing this work use computer generated images----so we put a spin on it Everyone we do is an original work-----the wood really makes it neat Anyway folks good to be back and settled again PS: There may be a slightly used Sens Jersey comin up for sale in the Classifieds....just have to try and remove the tear stains
  16. OK this is getting tiring I see most provide only opinions---I gave info from the metal roof supplier at the very least So I'll take my years of schooling---- 4 Ontario Provincial licences in building trades----One Interprovincial----29 years experience in construction/maintenance trades and concede that opinions are like fishin rods here---everyone's got one So I'm quittin and say I'll just graduate from the OFC college of knowledge
  17. All this expertise Yes you can put them over shingles Who cares if there's rot underneath them The strapping will grab every truss above the shingles and be the support for the metal roof Not the plywood or boards underneath the shingle If there's a concern that the trusses are comprimised---a quick trip into the attic space will determine-----if there's a truss problem---re-roofing of any kind won't help
  18. I should respond with the meaning of "ASSUME" But you likely know that If your not sure of the qualifications because of the anonymity of internet members-----you should err on the side of caution--and refrain from smartass responses The people behind the responses may know more than you believe
  19. this info taken off a metal roofing website....... Metal Roofing FAQ RESIDENTIAL: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why Metal Roofing? 1) Metal Roofs are available in a wide variety of colors and shapes. 2) Long lasting colors with no nonsense warranties 3) Over 20 years of exceptional durability 4) Metal Roofing is noncombustible 5) Metal Roofing will not absorb or be damaged by water 6) Metal Roofing will shed ice and water in the winter 7) Most steel products are made with recycled steel and contain at least 25 percent recycled material. Can Metal Roofing be installed over my old roof? Yes! Metal roofing weighs less than 1.6 pounds per square foot, depending on the gauge. It will not normally over load existing roofs. Metal roofing can usually be installed right over asphalt or fiberglass roofing. Will Metal Roofing improve the looks of my home? Metal roofing offers a wide variety of panel profiles to choose from. Nearly any design appearance can be achieved when using metal. If you desire a bold looking roof, a high slim rib panel which crates interesting shadow lines, or a low profile design, metal affords you a wide choice.
  20. Strapping and the metal's weight is negligible overall if your concerned about it We strapped over our cottage roof (Shingles)--15 years ago---put metal over that---zero issues---between North Bay and Huntsville---l'il bit of snow---no shovelling Look at the area for snow loads-----look at the Sault where some roofs have 3 feet of snow on them------ Who's shoveling your cottage roof now with just shingles??---fall in yet?---snow likely sticks on those shingles as well That metal is not as heavy as you think---try hanging onto one sheet on a windy day----ultimately your call. If it's a cottage style roof----whats the pitch---7/12?---if so snow comes off quickly try walking on one with metal I would not apply metal directly to shingles though.
  21. if you strap over the existing shingles and put metal on that---the old roof dampens the sound a bit
  22. Closed Eye---3/8--1/2 oz depending on the area and conditions Reason?---just don't like my knot slipping out of bend I've even taken that tip from KVD and pinched on a rubber core sinker above the head to bulk it up (minus rubber of course)
  23. For the most cases---being a police officer is an admirable job where they lay their lives down to protect ours----a job I would not want As in everything One suspect apple does not show the barrel
  24. Congrats and my PAL renewal also took 2 mos my advice on the hunting/shooting Practice...practice...practice-----moving targets as well once you get your gun dialed in & Always try to make that 1st shot count Good luck---it's a great time being in the woods
  25. I would highlight where Bob Rae explains how it is the law---this was yesterday Now I realize many members here know more than Mr. Rae. But it is another view
