  1. sure wish i had an antlerless tag haha i had a button buck like that hanging around me for like 10 minutes on friday... Good job!
  2. ive never fished there... but latly whats been working for me when the bite is tough, is to switch up to bottom bouncing. i know is not as "graceful" as float fishing, but it works great! ive been using a 3 way swivel with about a 3-4 foot lead to a roe bag, and then a 6-8 inch droper line to a 1 ounce pencil sinker. cast out up stream a little and when u start ticking bottom everyonce in a while u know u have enough weight. the hits can vary alot! some times u wount feel anything but the sinker stop moving, other times i find it feels like a walleye hit all u feel is a tap and then the best is when the fish almost rips the rod right out of your hand haha.
  3. buddy i worked with this summer was a rapala rep... he go a bunch of the rods, the r-type, ts2 series and so on. and a few of the Avantis reels . he hated them.... now im not sure if they have improved them in 4 months but... he burned that drag out on one and another one berings started to grind only a day later both within 2 weeks of getting them... so if the r-type reels are anything like the avantis id stay away...sorry for the bad news lol
  4. they will give you a temp licence on paper when u purchase ur card and licence... it is vailid for a month or two, till you get your real card in the mail
  5. if you think suicks are big, try tossing a Grunt haha 18" long crankbait, more for trolling but man the can be deadly when casted!
  6. thats not the first time ive heard of this...
  7. haha that would be somthing wouldnt it lol... but no i did bring a spinning rod for the hardware...
  8. i dont know about you guys but i cant fish sitting down unless im jigging or trolling! my accuracy is greatly improved when im standing up, my casting distance increases and i can set the hook whole lot harder. i dont think id worry about the fish seeing you while standing i mean when u figure 8 for muskie ur right at the boat with 12-15 inches of line off the tip of your rod and im sure the fish sees you and the boat, it just dosent care....
  9. ya he was on one of my Profs last year. i fished with him a time or two, this year hes not at the college somthing about upgrading... but ya it was a great time!
  10. In the last few days the steelheading has been wild... so ive heard lol Done class be 11:30 today. Fishing wasnt really on my mind lol thats a first! Got my my homework done susprisingly early lol and as i close my books my phone rings... My buddy Wes calls and asks if i want to hit up the rapids! of course! he pics me up and i guess he was already down there today for a bit and already got one steelie! so my hope were high! get down to our drift and as were walking out to it he says "are you gona drift roe?" i looked at my float rod and said "i might try tossing spoons for a bit" Good call! lol one cast in nothing lol, second cast i slow it down a bit and it just stops dead! i set the hook and feel some headshakes! FISH ON lol so Wes comes over to watch and record some video. Then it goes for its first run! wow peeled off so much line i thought i was gona get spooled! it jumps a few times and then it starts commin in. A few minutes go by i still dont know what it is forsure. we were thinkin a freshish chinnook... but then i saw a flash of pink and i knew it was gonna be my biggest steelhead from the rapids! a few mis-attempts at tailing the fish and then my friend got her! 32-33 inches and 9-10 lbs i was stoked! same fish and agian she swam away nice and strong! Then my buddy put on a clinc! He got 2 on roe with in 5 drifts! a nice male! and agian! and here is his second fish! Then as he is relasing one of his i get one on, while drifting roe.. Lmao! ... but i lose it while trying to land it doh! but not 2 drifts later my float goes down agian! lol after a nice fight with plenty of jumps! as my buddy was trying to land this one it decided to swim bettween his legs and get really wraped up lol as i tailed her she snaped off haha and he she is agian! So to day was an unexpected fishin trip but well worth it! in the end we went 5/6 on the steelhead and also landed a coho! Great 2 hours!! hahaha Thanks for reading!
  11. ive been smokeing i few salmon this year and there fantastic! i dont really like the taste of salmon when there in the rivers but they are great smoked!
  12. go with the stowmasters! all of the serious muskie guides i worked with this summer only used the stowmasters... they open easy and fold down to half the size of a regular muskie net.
  13. went out agian today... wow what a differnce a day can make :|... i was into the fish but i couldnt keep them hooked i went 1 for 6 haha.

  16. My father Tinbanger, and my Grandfather. The first time i remember fishing was on collins creek in glenburine, small town just outside of kingston where my grandparents lived. i can remember exactly how many pumpkin seed i caught lol 23, probably caught on worms... but i do remember out fishing both my Dad and Grandpa ... thats how it all started haha... i guess this is where i write "Thanks Dad" lol
  17. lol read the post "ive blured the faces on my buddies, they dont acctually look like that lol." geez... ahaha
  18. So in bettween studies ive been able to hit the river quite a few times. The runs this year have been great for most if not all the salmon species. In the past little while the steelhead have started there fall runs, and we've been getting into them quite good. They seem to be smashing the largest of roe bags over a toonie size... kinda crazy even in the clear waters! the Cohos have been great for me this year with plenty being caught, and some lost lol. The other day i got into them good with three cohos in three drifts haha. so anyways enough chating on to the pics ahaha. ive blured the faces on my buddies, they dont acctually look like that lol. my first coho of the year... alomost looks like a chinny here's the same fish Another nice coho... love the colours on them when they hit the rivers! A Solo shot lol Heres a really fresh coho... he is now currently in my buddies smoker lol nice little steelie... my friends first steelhead! shoulda seen him lol hes hooked now lol and another one of my buddies with a nice steelie... silver bullets ok... one more for the smoker lol so, so far this year looks like its gona be one for the books! hope you enjoyed the pics!
  19. i saw a guy do that 2 days ago at the rapdis! only it was for a 2 lbs steelie but he got it lol.

  23. ok so im i the only one who relizes wuts wrong with this picture? the picture could very well be real, i have been doing studies with one of my profs for a little while, working on the couger program. we have studied alot about the WESTERN couger and there tactics of hunting are incredible! i said western for a reason.... there is no way in hell this picture could of been taken in ontario.... whats the dead give away??...... ... ... ... ... ... ... look at the tail on the deer.... ahhhh.... hahah its a Mule Deer, close cousin of the ontario Whitetail... so it was taken out west somewhere. Glad i could clear that one up
