  1. Oh yeah...I never did pay the $30...we drove up the road, found a spot to park and hand-bombed it in One day, when I have a bigger boat, I'll miss my little tinner
  2. You would think so, BillyBob, but...$10 in (Ontario) cottage country is a bargain! Was up at a completely out of the way little lake a couple weeks back, one little trailer park on the lake and a few cottages...buddy wanted $30 to launch...which is expected for the big waterways. Thanks for the tip smally21....how was the fishing?
  3. You already beat me to it...good thinking Ping Scugog is a busy lake...spend the dough, and avoid the D'oh!!! I've always enjoyed renting from West shore marine...but there are plenty of other places too...good luck! Oh, and welcome to the board :D
  4. My fishing buddy STILL refuses to believe that his PB Musky is only 14lbs...he keeps tellign me my digital scale is wrong...which it probably is...but it's the scale that's in the boat, so what it says goes! Now I remember the length...weights are just a generality Just read JP's post about the Chatillon....once again, you get what you pay for...I know what I just added to my Christmas list
  5. I think he's sick with envy...tossing a few cookies over the side...
  6. sounds like a great outing, Andy...thanks for sharing! But blocking out the face??? Dare I ask why?
  7. Oh, I thought you meant all the whiny folks complainin' and what not...tryin' to bring down the board...is there a way to fix that?
  8. But it's still fair game to park at Vic Johnson's and walk down, no?
  9. that looks like a really sweet mixed bag there...thanks for the pics to get us drooling Are you above at least sharing with us what the hot tactic was?
  10. Great report, M/S...I know how much you cherish those father-son trips...thanks for sharing
  11. Am I reading the list right? Is lake trout not on there? You can go ahead and add that for me
  12. very cool...thanks for the post Time to start getting ready for the ice up there yet?
  13. I think if you don't make the call, the chances of anything happening to stop it are lower. Heck...maybe if the MNR gets enough calls they'll decide they can't police it, and will approve 2 rods per person!
  14. Good stuff...thanks for sharing! I wonder if the rising fish were ciscoes or herring?
  15. Amen to what Rick said
  16. No, this doesn't need it's own thread...it needs it's own online forum...go start a whole webpage dedicated to it...sheeeeesh
  17. Yup...the stick he uses for stirrin' and the fire...well...we all know he's fully flaming
  18. I wouldn't have known there was a new one up...the banner still says Aug. 23...thanks Rick
  19. Way to go, Matt! Hopefully people will correct their ways
  20. Okay, you've got the gear I can scrap that portion of the post As for lures, bring a couple of the biggest spinners you've got -- my fave is a 9.5" Buchertail; bring a big crankbait, like a rapala super-shad, or a believer,...something you can rip through a few feet of water and shake weeds off of...there will be lots of weeds A topwater jerkbait may be good, if it's calm, or if you're there early or late. My most successful outings have been tossing spinners out over the weedbeds while drifting past West Shore Marina. Depending on which way the wind is blowing, I go about a half km past it, then drift back down...anywhere from 100 to 300 yards out from the shore the marina's on. That's all I got...never been on Scugog and not at least had a Muskie on...if you're prepared with the right tackle, you should be able to land one...don't need a ton of lures though. Post a report if/when you go, and let us know how you did
  21. We should still have most of this full moon around, no? Super deadly Muskoka smallie tactic is a very very slowly retrieved jitterbug under the moon. Juuuust enough to hear the plip-plop-plip-plop. If you've got a jitterbug...definitely give it a try
  22. Thanks msp -- I think the cool weather and rain the day before (and of) helped bring them out...if you remember a couple pm's you and I exchanged a while back...that's the lake I mentioned...
  23. Just about everything swims in there - pike, walleye, bass, bowfin...fish the likely looking spots..points, weedbeds (which you'll see lots of). There are a number of little backbays that are worth exploring as well. If you have a canoe and are up for a one or two day back lake adventure, send me a pm and I'll give you the details.
  24. Is there any other kind?!?! In Wetumpka, I mean
  25. WOOT!!! Very nice...hoepfully the leak won't come back...but if it does, sounds like you've got the repair job down pat.
