  5. Ohman.....I think I need a steelheading mentor....simply don't know how you guys make it look so easy! Great report....thanks for sharing
  6. Couple guys from this board went on the weekend...I was reading about it...search through the last couple pages of threads I'm sure you'll come up with it.
  7. Can't believe nobody posted the pic of the two-headed pike yet! Maybe it was a cannibalistic pike, and one of it's victims tried to poke it's way out? Nice pics Hauki...welcome aboard! My mother's side of the family is Finnish...I'll definitely go there one day. Looking forward to seeing some fish from the Baltic...post away
  8. that's my kind of northern trip! Great pics...they say it all
  9. Great Report, Holdie! Gonna be a loonnnggg cold winter without those pics of Spike ridin' shotgun to keep me laughin
  10. small jig, jigging spoon, bare hook with split shot...you can be creative. But small jig is good. I like micro tubes to bulk it up a bit.
  11. Way to go, man...couple nice fish there! First muskie I ever had hit on a firetiger believer....but to this day I still haven't landed one...bucktails are my first choice...then the believer...
  12. I love all the responses...thanks everybody Only one horrible night so far....otherwise we are getting the hang of sleeping for a few hours at a time Not enough time to catch up on all the posts on the board though...ah well...
  13. Fantastic report man!!! A pleasure to read...thanks for posting.
  14. Okay, okay...maybe not what you thought it was going to be Everybody....meet Emma Elizabeth Brown....brought into this world on October 10th, by the unbelievably strong and talented Laker Jessy Labour officially started on Friday morning, but by Friday night the heat was cranked up! By noon on Saturday, the doctor finally gave mom the good stuff (epidural) and a few hours later, out came the latest girl in the family who will likely outfish me! I'm afraid to click on "view new posts"...just not enough time to catch up on the board...can't tear myself away from my new sweetheart I'm out -- Momma has found a new love! Gee...I hope I don't get flak for improper hold technique Already dreaming about that first fishing trip...."it was THIS BIG" And, in case you were wondering...we cracked the scales at 6lbs, 5oz...not bad for a 20 incher!!! Thanks for looking I'm just a weee bit proud!!
  15. Way to go!!! Very nice reward for going it alone
  16. well done sir!! Dassa fat bass!!!!!
  17. I hear ya buddy!!! Good luck...hope to see a report from ya
  18. fishing for what? Crappie? Bass? Muskie? Walleye? If it's muskie...get out there with some big bucktails and drift over large weedflats. If you get weeds that are deep enough to rip a large crankbait, like a supershadrap or believer, go for it. I've found that some pretty chunky largies will also hit your bucktails. that's all I got...good luck! Causeway Bait shop is a good stop to make...he's really helpful, and I believe he sells the pre-marked Dave Mercer maps.
  19. Have a great trip, Wayne...Wales was far and away my favourite part of the (only) trip I ever took to the UK
  20. It would be hilarious if someone unlucky enough not to know who and where "the Dawg" is came on and thought it was some happy go lucky poacher's report...what with the mulitple hooks/lines in the water  Way to go GCD...thanks for sharing And LakerJessy says thanks for keeping your shirt on
  21. Neither! You should go with ME! On Sunday or Monday!!!
  22. Yup...alread had a couple dreams about pulling fat lakers up through the ice Bring it on!!!!!
  23. Smallies should be bulking up, so look for them in the usual rocky places....tube jigs, slash baits are probably good choices. Big pike in the lake...just put your time in with bigger baits...spinnerbaits are popular...any weedbeds you can find bordering on deeper water would be ideal. It's a pretty large body of water...either run and gun, or stick to one area and work everything really thoroughly.
  24. LMAO!!! When you're determined to go, but still fall asleep, you know you need the rest I'm gonna take the seasoned vet's advice, and wait for the wind to blow the right way...that pier has beaten my spirits down too much to go back just yet
  25. If LakerJessy would hurry up and have this baby...I'd be all over that!!!
