  1. I've read it before, and it still makes me laugh out loud.
  2. Phhheeww!! Let me know if you need a hand getting lines down on the crestliner
  3. 24 years...you had a good run At least you made good on the fishing....NICE boat btw Does this mean the salmon reports are over?
  4. The last three years, I've been in Temagami for May opener, and they always seem to be just starting out, noticeable on the warmest days, but haven't been an issue. However, when I get back to Muskoka at the end of each trip to drop off the boat, they seem to be in full swing and feeding heavily. The bug spray will be very accessible when we go in this year....
  5. I'll defnitely be busting out the fly rod for some bass this summer....it has been collecting dust for way too long now. What a great way for Scott to be welcomed to Canada
  6. The mark of a true trophy -- you CAN'T hold it at arm's length to make it look bigger
  7. Nice work! I've had trouble locating the trout, water temps the same...low 40's. Only one I found was.....next to a couple bass I caught My bass were out of season down here in the sowth....so they didn't count fer nuttin
  8. Ohhhhhhh the humaaaaaanity
  9. Welcome aboard, Chris!
  10. Oh man, these pics and stories are just great Simon....have I mentioned my daughter is just a few months younger than Jack? I think they'll make the perfect couple Great job on the fishing too....already setting the bar niceley with that smallmouth for the tournament. "Dad -- I'm TELLIN' YA....use the CARS rod...sheesh"
  11. Looks like a sweet setup, Bill! Got any more pics showing the boat off? Nice job on the fish too....I love getting out there to troll for those things
  12. Do a search for tackle shops or guide services in the area...they will be in the know
  13. Beautiful fish there....especially that monster brown!!! Great report....keep'em coming
  14. Such a simple idea....but really something a lot of us are missing. My son has always had a natural tendency towards perfectionism...it has been rough working with him when he expects to ace everything he tries on the first time. I think you gain a lot more confidence when you are able to overcome failure, as opposed to being good at something right off the bat.
  15. Beautiful pics sir....just blows my mind that it's a typical week night for you Roloff is a stunning brute....I showed Jessy the pics of him as a pup, but haven't been keeping her updated on his progress.....because I know I'll end up with one of my own if I do
  16. For years I would troll original floating rapalas around....then started ripping jerkbaits around weedbeds....have to say it's a lot more exciting...although I still troll from spot to spot
  17. Ouch. Wonder if the sleeping lion will wake up?
  18. I love the beer cooler! And the trail in looks like you could walk it in sock feet....oh wait you did that already.... Great little slice of paradise...looking forward to more reports
  19. Great writeup Mike....the chills down my back took a bit to subside. Very cool story....a great example of why we need to listen to the stories and lessons of our elders. Speaking of our elders....I was 5 and a half when all that went down...just how old ARE you?!?!? Also has me thinking....you know how money went a lot further in those days? How about the "man cards"?! Can you imagine the portages with those old boats, plus the gear they were huckin around back when Ralph was young and feisty? Now I have to go read more about this man....thanks so much for sharing
  20. If they want to exercise their right to let you go now, they can do that, but they do owe you the 2 weeks of pay. Nice little vacation for sure! I do hope that your 2 weeks notice is recorded, ie. on paper or email....might be easy for an unscrupulous employer to make it look like you gave no notice and were terminated.
  21. It WILL be able to tow it...that's what the ratings are for. The ratings don't necessarily take into account how frequently you tow though. It may not hold up as well as the pathfinder or a beefier vehicle...but there are things you can do to help it last longer and put up with the extra strain. Heavy duty engine and transmission cooling can be added on, and sometimes they will come as part of the vehicle's tow package. Also trailer brakes I'd say would be a must in this case. The only other thing I can think of that you should look at is the torque difference between the Rav and the Pathfinder. The extra horsepower will be useless if there isn't enough torque.
  22. Lots and lots of info to be found if you look in the right places. I've come across a list of lakes that tell you what species they contain, as well as a map of the park, all online, all for free....I just never bookmark the stuff. If I recall....you can drive right to Opeongo. No portaging except from your car to the water. It has trout. Happy hunting!
  23. Great report, Chad...congrats on those trout!
  24. What a sweetie...congrats!!! Great name too
