theres no point in stocking a lake if certain other conditions don't get met, be them harvest or enviromental or baitfish, stocking is a good idea if can kickstart a self sustaining system but yeah so many factors out there to consider
-
you do realize the recovery of balsalm lake had as much to do with stocking as reduced limits? balsalm lake association had egg boxes all over the lake rearing fry for release, that has more to do with it than anything. the eye fisihing on the kawarthas is cyclical sturgeon and rice were fantastic for lots of eyes while tri lakes were average and scugog was way down, difference between 4-6 fish is negligable and there isn't really enough enforcement to say the law is being adhered to

How to stop starter battery blue build up...
ecmilley replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
wayne it's 5 cents due to rounding. corrosion can be cleaned off with a baking soda soloution, again don't get it in the battery. a big contributor to corrosion is voltage tracking across the battery case due to it being dirty again clean with baking soda. i make sure all battery connections are clean dry and tight throw away wing nuts get ss regular nuts, i don't really like any kind of grease on the actual connection untill it's tightened (grease can leach out and loosen it over time) if i use it at all, usually use dielectric grease in electrical connectors , ignition wires ect to provide a measure of waterproffing, corrosion resistence and ease of disassembly. another thing in marine apps is ventilation, poor venting can cause excess corrosion do to build up of vapors. -
crappie's as soon as the ice is out, walters of course can't see it being any better this year than last which was outstanding, then maybe some snot rockets to tie me over till bass fishing, may also 4x into some stocker lakes for ice out lakers with the 12 ft boat to many discisions for div 15 and 17

doubt it most of bass done begininng of june, see the odd nest but have seen bass on odd beds end of july

do it once do it right at the cost of boats i really want a 520c but it's 2 years away at least , or spend 10k if your a little handy on a used boat really won't lose anyvalue over the next several years while you save for the big purchase, i know i've outgrown my little 18fter

Before the big discussion of the best boat (of course it's ranger ) what are you using to tow? if you gots a little crv or rav4 not pulling a fibreglass bass boat, make sure you budget for a pick up or similar suv to get you around and not stuck in launches. as for bass boats it's preferance I prefer Ranger for fishability thought they tend to be slower top end due to there weight and build quality any bass in 20ft range can go through rough water 2-3 ft i can do about 40ish mph at best without getting soaked and beating myself up, older champions about the best rough water bass boat ever! things you want- under deck rod lockers, lots of storage good livewells, check for steering cables issues and cracks on the transom and gel coat. Ranger 620 series about the best multi-species on the planet and can handle some pretty rough water and still get fairly skinny and think that is something to look at if you want glass, Nothing wrong with lund multi-species either, aluminum is lighter easier to tow generally less money little rougher ride and less top speed

I gots the same one. nautilus smart charger really works well for getting a full charge

then to ruin your day further i believe that that is one of the very rare sdi 800's only made a model year maybe two, maybe you can try a 600 sdi box to get it to run -

brp= bring rods and pistons the 800 e-tech is a very sophisticated engine, won't even run correctly if you swap injectors side to side. brp has serval tsb and recalls for programming and pistons, if your working on the crank make sure you have iso flex in the bearings and check ALL oil feed tubes. most of the 8's had 2-3 year warrantys check with the local dealer maybe beable to cover under warranty. -
waht are you cranking? will have no issues with smaller outboards but true deep cycle rarely over 220cca i would say under 90 hp no issues, just remember dc batterys are designed for light loads over long periods of time and not really intended for the high current rush of a starter, i use a dual purpose battery for cranking and electronics it's the best or least of both worlds depending on how you look at it

what genetic strain needs protecting? walleye is not natural to nip and is a stock fish to begin with stock away I say, rehabilite some stocking grounds to get natural recruitment numbers up, responsible harvest ,actual enforcment and polluting laws will all help bring nip back to it's former glory

I prefer shows done on local lakes that i would go to and not the fly-in lodge crap and trolling on tv is even more boring than actually doing it. Sure anyone can fly into nw ontario and catch trophy bass walleye pike on a bare hook or remote parts of bc, qc and nfld for amazing trout and salmon. Fishin canada not to bad for local content that the average joe can get to, Extreme angler another one that targets local to me kawartha/hali/bancroft district lakes for bass/crappies and walleyes. I Like the bass shows myself not all of them but lost lake, scott martin challenge and classic patterns are all great shows that are educational and fun. each there own I guess

also some of the newer chargers can do this an example is a motomaster nautiles charger it can push 15 vots and 15 amps max using smart technology and ahas a battery reconditioning feature that can bring sometimes bring life back to a sulphated battery, best part is it has a manual feature, to really put a charge to it.
-
they last longer can be positioned in any way and most newer sleds come with a agm sealed battery
-
that's ok cliff we know all the other spots on the lake for crappies anyway
-
where do you intend to fish the most? platinum + has great detail in great lakes and hot maps does a better job inland. check out navionics website for coverage and detail areas

yup have a xlt in backyard like that 2000 pulls to get it going then runs great rest of day
-
if your taking the engine out your removing the primary with it, mark your mounts because that's how centre to centre and offset are set (sliding motor mounts)
-
well it's only a 500 whats wrong with pulling the rope to start it
