  2. I've seen that happen firsthand! I was out on a charter boat in the Gulf of Mexico when a bolt of lightning the water prolly 5 miles away and it fried that Captains Auto-Pilot!... nothing else, but the A-P was toast... it might have just been a fuse, but it didn't work for the whole trip!
  3. I actually have one of these and have used it, it's ok and shoots thru the ice as advertised... but you have to clear all the snow off the spot you're gonna shoot and pour a little water on it before the unit will function properly. I also used it in the rental boat at the Lakair G2G last year, stood it up in the rear of the boat next to the transom that had a little water standing and it shot thru the wooden hull and read the depths ok. For the money (I paid $99 USD for mine) I would suggest getting a portable fishfinder like this one: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse or this one: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse I hope this helps!
  4. Very nice football brown!!!
  5. I put mine in a garbage bag on the boat.
  6. I have just purchased this one to take with me on vacations where i'll be renting a boat, and to use on my personal pontoon out in the Gulf of Mexico. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse This is one I also considered. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse I hope this helps!

  14. Put that crittey on a diet of cornbread and buttermilk for a couple weeks to fatten it up, and you got some fine eatin' there bubba!!!.. but you already knew that.
  15. Well actually a Jumbo is over 12", and if they were just 7-8" long... they were prolly stunted and needed a good "cleaning out". So you did good Cala!!!
  16. You might be ok with just an automotive stereo Rick, but here's a pretty good deal on a marine grade stereo. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...;reposting=true ... or you may want to consider this one: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse
  17. They're not that bad around here....
  18. Well! Y'all missed it! Me, Slowpoke, and Sturgman solved the problems of the world while y'all were snoozin'! When ya snooze... ya looze! BTW... the more I drunk, the drinker I got!
  19. As far as fishin' line goes, what you have on your rods and reels will prolly work... but!... given the clarity of the Carribean waters, you will catch alot more fish with a flurocarbon leader 4 ft. at least, and the longer the better. I love to target the Snapper (Muttons and Lane), very tasty! Bounce bottom with a 6-30' (I'm not exagerating, a 30' leader!) leader and a frozen Sardine or live Pin Fish in about 100FOW and hang on! ?The thing I love most about saltwater fishin' is, you never know what you're gonna pull up... could be a Grouper!... could be a Shark!... cou;ld be a Snapper!.. or it might even be a Snook! (which are also very good eating!)... but like CH said, check the regs before you keep anything.
  20. A mule kick on a chicken... now that's what I call entertainment!!! LOL!!!!@ GaryV!!!

  25. Yup! She's a "Spot". All my Bass are C&R, I'd much rather eat Crappie and Catfish. Last weekend wasn't that warm, but it's s'posed to be 60 tomorrow... just in case y'all wanted to know that.
