  1. Keep your heads up people, that cold front will sweep thru the rest of the province tonight and tomorrow morning.
  2. I am so sorry Wayne. Nothing I can say can help right now but later when you read these posts it might help. Try to keep your chin up. darren
  3. Grunts are great fish to catch. 3 years ago my buddy got one about 15 pounds when we were trolling in Quinte in the fall. It tore the hooks out of a deep down taildancer!
  4. Beautiful fish!!!! Very bright colours....I hope that doesnt mean its going to be an early fall!
  5. That bass reminds me of the big fat guy that had to have his wall broken down and taken away on a fork lift!!! Caught on a live bluegill, wonder if its in its belly, hey it would give you an extra 6 ounces for the record!
  6. Just posted today on ESPN as well on Japanese television. Looks to be a tie with George Perry's ancient record. By the sight of it I cant really argue!! http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmas..._Japan_20090702
  7. Tell me where it is and Ill show you!!! ;-)
  8. Great pictures and report. Never realized Sparrow had so many nice channels in it!! Way to go!
  9. Jigger Had a bonafied 48" ski hit at the side of the boat on a buzzbait in a thunderstorm and pulled the hook out of its mouth. ARGHHHHHHHHH Fish was really old, skinny body and huge head, 100 yards from where you caught your PB. The largemouths were soooooo spooky it felt like llate August when they have seen everything. Used floro and everything. Making me doubt the things I do in bass fishing. Wondering what KVD would do in the situation and how he would approach it. I dont know if it is just me but I seem to have more and mort of these days with follows and rejections. Last year it was a couple days on Erie running a gulp gobie and shakie minnow drop shot and having 4-7, 5 pound smallmouths hovering on it but not commiting. Still really frustrated!!
  10. Spen the last 2 days up in Haliburton chasing largemouths on a very clear water lake. Extremely frustrating 2 days, flat calm water and a mix of sun and rain. Ended up with about 25 bass ranging between 2-4 pounds. Would have been a great 2 days if not for the 30-40 bass that would follow and reject every offering. I threw baits ranging from buzzbaits , frogs, swimbaits, spinnerbaits, dropshots and wacky rigged senkos. Other then dropping down in bait size to very small baits ( which I didnt want to do , do to the number of panfish ) I really don't know what I should have done. I would appreciate any suggestions. Darren
  11. Burke wants the Leafs to get "bigger and tougher" thats an exact quote. Glad to see he still thinks it is 1991. Seriously does he have a clue. Speed and skill are what you look for in the NHL , look who was in the finals. He WILL probably sign Bertuzzi like Jedi Angler says. What a joke!
  12. Congrats on that fish Awesome ctach, your eward for other thing going wrong...karma I think!
  13. Nice eyes! Bet you like that Mojo rod, got one last yearand am really impressed with them for there price and performance.
  14. THe 1989 NHL called and they want Brian Burke bcak!!!!
  15. I cant believe I out lived him.......holly crap!!!
  16. "BTW, comparing an Abu C3 to a curado is like looking at the wheel before it was round and then seeing what it should be." Man thats too funny!!! D
  17. I nhave had one for over a year now and love it. You hardly recognize the difference from a 200 to a 300 so its easier to use for the whole day. It is especially good if you have smaller hands. I have caught pike up to 22 lbs and it was flawless.
  18. Dan Do you know if they treat that river with Lampricide or not? Might want to send that pic to the Ministry in case that isnt one of the rivers they treat. God there an ugly animal!!
  19. I would follow Jiggers advice....he has sworn me to secrecy!!!! ;-0
  20. I dont understand the need for a prefish. If i remember right there is a clamp on prefishing all the Bassmaster Elite series now, Something like nothing for 3 weeks or so before the event. Simply run it without a prefish, thats as even as anyone can ask for and legal too!!! This doesnt seem very kosher to me......
  21. I was squinting all week! See the Dr again tomorrow. Smokey was having computer problems a few weeks ago so thats probably why he hasnt been around. Wish I could turn around and go back!
  22. Got back from my fly in trip on the weekend and had a very good time. Want to give Solopadller and Smokey credit for helping me out with info. The trip did not start off good as we didnt even get to North Bay before the snow started falling. Hey I dont mind some flakes in the air in May but 4-5 inches on the ground is a bit much for the last day of May!! Finally made it to Nakina after 12.5 hours and then had Luenenburgers fly us into Whittle lake, approxiamtely 75 miles north of Nakina. The cabin is awesome for being in the middle of nowhere!! After a quick look around it is apparent that we were not the first one at the cottage , looks like the wolves got this moose in tskullhe winter. That is a hip section not a skull, it was 10 feet from the cabin door!!!! The weather was very bad for the week with only 1 good day out of the 5. Did manage a rare sighting of Devo fishing the lake! Water temp was a balmy 45 degrees with the incoming river temps a bone chilling 42 degrees. this was a result of the snow melting and an average high temp of 6 degrees! There were no eyes in the shallows at all as a result of the rapidly falling temps and the fact that they just finished spawning the week before. We trolled for the first 2 days trying to find some active fish and to save our freezing hands! After a couple days we finally had a day that broke 10 degrees and manged to get on some walleyes. On with the fish pron!!! For a first for me I managed to catch a few blue walleye, here is an example of the difference between a normal pigmented fish and a "blue" Normal And a blue And finally a stringer photo from our big fish fry on the last night. Sadly it is over for the year and have to wait to go back again in the future. The next time I think it will be a few weeks later in the season and will be for 7 days not for the 5 we went for!!
  23. It was colder then normal, got this off a weather page for Toronto That number is nearly identical to the average daily high, excluding yesterday's June-like weather, making May 2008 just the second since 1985 to record an average high below 17C.
