  1. Pretty soon it's gonna be losers after fifty years instead of forty.......
  2. He looked OK to me & might have lost a bit of weight (compared to being on TV) but he definitely has colourful language that you would never hear on his TV show. Wish I could have spent a bit more time with him but had to leave cause when we were in the parking lot he noticed some guy went into the restaurant & he said how did that guy know I was here (a charter boat skipper on Lake Ontario).........
  3. Actually at Jakes there is a menu item called Cronzy Shoreline Meal featuring walleye in his mix when I chatted with him I said pickeral (I'm from quebec I usually say Dore) so he corrected me said Walleye but was joking around......
  4. Went out for dinner tonight at Jakes Grill House in Burlington,Ontario & after dinner leaving the restaurant saw Darryl Cronzy (Going Fishing Show) at the bar so my brother & I went over to say hi and ended up having a nice chat with him but before leaving he said I'm going to give you guys each a package of my breading & batter mix (Told him we used it & liked it true)so we went out to his truck (maybe an excuse to go outside to have a smoke whatever)& each got package.Cool guy with alot of stories and tells like it is.......
  5. I got that crazy xp defender virus a couple of months ago - the computer place I took my computer to was doing a good business removing that virus from various computers..........
  6. Last year in the playoffs Hillier was the goalie of record when The Ducks (8) defeated The Sharks (1) in the first round of the playoffs so it is not after a half season in net - might i remind u..............
  7. Now you know why The Ducks got rid of Giueger (sp) & his contract to The Leafs as Hillier is one good goalie even though he never seems to makes a save standing up but usually on his knees.........
  8. Yesterday (23) I was at The Burlington Ontario Reuse Centre & I noticed an older looking green fibreglass fishing rod (in pretty good shape) for push button reels. So I picked it up at looked at the rod's label which said "Trueline by Gordie Howe" & very legible. Gordie Howe back in the 60's was associated with The Eatons Department Stores - as young person I had several pieces of hockey Trueline equipment endorsed by Mr. Howe (made by Cooper) including my helmet & shin guards but I never knew Howe endorsed other types of sporting goods. Anyways I bought the fishing rod for $2.00 & will match it up with an old Zebco push button reel that I have. I guess the rod must be at least 45 years plus in age..........
  9. Mine are - Molson Export - Steam Whistle (Quickly becoming my favorite) - Coors Light
  10. Also the boating courses just went up as well after September 15..........
  11. I was listening to the "Outdoor Journal Radio Show" on The Fan590 this past weekend & they had an OPP officer on and asked him what would happen if you got caught without a "Pleasure Craft Operator Card" after September 15 - Quite a cash grab. First a $250.00 fine for not having a card on your person. Then a $45.00 Federal Processing Fee which can go up each time The Feds catch you without an outdated card or liscense of any kind. There is also a Provinical Processing Fee of $5.00. If you get caught without an operator card - there could be a possibilty you might not have all the safety equipment required for your boat so it could turn into a rather expensive day on the water....... The OPP officer said a photocopy of the card would be ok so I have done that and laminated a few copies & put it in a couple of my tackleboxes/bags........
  12. The formula I have for calcuating a fish's weight is : Length x Girth x Girth divided by 800 =..............
  13. The hospital in Kenora on Lake of The Woods has a bulletin board covered with lures & hooks etc taken from patients who unfortuately hooked themselves and needed medical attention to get the hooks out.........
  14. On Sunday Night (12) while channel surfing I came across a show on Spike TV called "Manswers" which lists different topics and their answers appealing to males. They came up with a topic which is the "#1 Sport to Kill You". So they went through different sports where death may happen which were Boxing-Football & Sky Diving and these three sports in 2003 had fewer deaths combined 167 in the USA than Fishing (Boating) do not remember the total of deaths for Fishing (Boating) although fishing/boating have alot more particpants than those three other sports. Anyways they listed the three most common causes of death which were : #1 Hitting submerged/floating objects with fibreglass boats at high speeds or any speed. #2 Boat deaths in 2003 had 68% due to drownings with a main cause due to hypothermia. #3 Boat deaths in 2003 had 31% attributed to alcohol related accidents. All three causes could be used for one death but it was interesting to watch but was only a five minute or so clip so it was not super in depth with details but more for entertainment value due to the nature of the show.....
