  1. LOL we use to portage two for a week into algonquinn on Manitou Lake. Funny thing was our former Foorball coach and Gym teacher knew this and had a school leadership coarse up there at the same time (first week of May) Without fail he use to visit every day to enjoy our hospitality. We didnt mind one bit though he was the one who introduced us to the park. RIP Ray.
  2. The place to camp when I was young was The Hideaway Just outside of Sauble and they had a great drinking policy on the longweekends--as much as you can. Great times!!
  3. LOL My son when he was little use to refer to fishing in that area as going to the jungle like "Dad are we going to fish the jungle today" If you think it looks bad now you should see it once the green starts blooming.
  4. No but they will strike out of aggresion, another example heres a nice salmon from a labour day weekend on a buckertail
  5. Steelhead will strike just about anything heres my proof a beautiful fresh fish caught on a 8" rouser while musky fishing
  6. I think Im going to do the orange lights on my boat as well thanks for the great idea.
  7. Nice fish wish you had a photno of the brown they are very pretty. FYI- Opercular Malformation is a pretty good sign that youve caught a hatchery raised fish its a pretty common thing caused bythe stress of the hatchery runs. Next time you catch a fish with part of its gill missing check for fin clips to confirm that it is a stocked steelhead.
  8. No ones mentioned it but I like to run spinner baits through pads and let them helicopter down into the holes. I also like to helicopter them on weed edges and around dock pilings.
  9. It all depends on the situation but my number 1 bait for largies would be a jignpig BlackSkirt with purple pork crayfish. For smallmouth I prefer Yamamoto grubs watermelon pepper split shot rigged with a do nothing retrieve.
  10. I found the same thing when I was in Halifax but when I got up Antigonish/Stellarton way it was great. And so was PEI anglers and people in general were very helpful. But then again so were they in Labrador. I think its just an out east thing.
  11. Thanks for that tip so Wynn was open last fall then correct, on the three year cycle.
