  1. I seen people shore fishing the channel area heading out to the lake which they access from the east side, I'm not sure if there are largemouth in that area though. Probably casting spoons or x-raps are your best bet. also like to add that you might need a net in that area as there looks like there is no place to beach a fish.(big pike)
  2. sounds like it was a great day. When you were getting break offs what pound test were you using.
  3. all the fish were a nice size but that last one is huge, congrats.
  4. sure was a great day on the water. The musky seemed turned on in the areas we fished and the bass seemed to be hiding , which was the complete opposite of Sunday. I think Sean is hooked on musky fishing now as he was tossing larger baits most of the day.
  5. sounds like you are getting lots of use out of the new boat, congrats
  6. great report Ehg, there is a lot of structure to fish on Pigeon with lots of different species as people can see in your reports. Erik also had a hit on his bait when we were trolling by a hump.
  7. nice report, some very nice fish there
  8. excellent report , that top water bait was definetaly the hot bait for the day.
  9. great photos and report.
  10. nice report, congrats on the crappie.
  11. if exchanging that motor for a bigger one is not an option, I recommend a hydrofoil. You can purchase them at BPS in Vaughn. They should give you a better whole shot plus keep the bow down.
  12. another vote for palomar knot, I have never had a knot tied with power pro come out using that knot.
  13. nice report Sean, the title pretty well sums up our days on the water. I really enjoyed Fishing with Rodel Misa (who is a member of OFC) and learned a lot. That trolling motor with Power Drive where you set it in one direction and don't touch the pedal again was very nice and the Hummingbird fish finder with side imaging was awesome. With the Side imaging you could see weed lines 40 feet from the boat and cast into them. As with any guide they ask what you want to do and we said we like casting so Rodel showed us the type of structure to look for on any lake and those were the areas we fished .I would recommend Rodel to anyone considering a musky guide in the Kawarthas as he has a passion for it and works very hard. day 2 we fished the Otonabee on Rice and as the day went on the water became dirty with less visibility. Sean did loose a nice fish as he had too much slack line , just before it got off it surfaced just to give us a show . The Otonabee is my place to fish when there is 30-40 km winds on the lake plus I like the fact that the current moves you down the river at a good speed to cover water. thanks for posting Sean
  14. looks like you guys had an awesome day, thanks for posting.
  15. I wasn't kidding, but I was able to open it . now to figure out how to adjust the braking system.
  16. how did it open? I have been trying for 5 minutes trying to open mine with no luck.
  17. Congrats on your fish. We were there saturday as well I think we were at the launch at the same time.Looks like the Badboyz were the lucky bait.
  18. pumkinseed/pepper with chartruse tail work pretty good for me, also watermelon/pepper I have a large selection of tubes and these seem to be the colors I always put on.
  19. another fantastic report, those are some nice smallies. videos didn't work for me either, tbayboy's link worked for me.
  20. welcome to the board, please remember we like lots of pictures with a good story.
  21. welcome to the board and nice intro. I was on Scugog Saturday from 2-7 fishing for Musky , and noticed there were a lot of people fishing for walleye pickeral! We had one miss and one follow on Saturday.
  22. congrats on the success of your day and excellent report.
  23. canadian tire sells the numbers and letters for you boat.
  24. I'll use 1/2 to 3/4 oz on Scugog with a Phoenix chunk trailer made by Red Wing Tackle, they seem to be the most durable. I usually use a blue/black head with a blue chunk. Flip it into the heavy cover , jiggle it, most times you can feel the bite but as others have said watch the line as the fish might pick up the bait and start moving with it. Another thing is that I trim the chunks down in size as they are a little wide when you pull them out of the pack. good luck
  25. I don't know anything about the hand control units, but just to let you know BPS had a few units on sale when I was there the other day. They had 65lb and 55lb thrust motors as well as others on sale.
