  1. If you do want to buy some kind of cover for the back, check kijiji or craigslist for some deals.
  2. congrats on catching some nice fish, something I used to do when using a stringer is to push the tip of the hook of the stringer thru the soft tissue just past the lower jaw bone and your fish will live longer on the stringer. At the end of the day or evening fish if I only caught one fish and I didn't feel like cleaning one fish I would just let it go.
  3. I have no info on the launch but I was up there today and it was pretty windy and the wind forecast for tomorrow is pretty high. If you launch in Victoria Harbour(sometimes the launch is shallow in the fall) or Musky's Landing you can get out of the wind and enjoy your day.
  4. If you're willing to try these, they have the gap welded to prevent the blades from coming off, plus they have wire holding the shirt on instead of rubber. Diawa Spinnerbaits
  5. I agree, also I think using the title that you chose is a little tacky , I guess you thought it was funny when you typed it.
  6. how about Musky's Landing near the Port Severn locks, I'm sure you fished that area a couple of times.
  7. kinda miss his crappie and catfish reports, maybe he'll come back one day
  8. the free launch is on Albert Street, What species are you targeting?
  9. I tried these out and like them the best, they are called Sumo Frogs . I find the pink is easy to spot if you take your eye off them while fishing in the lily pads. I trim the tails a little shorter and bend the hooks out a bit and improved my hook up ratio.
  10. I am the one guilty of bringing this old post back, I did a google on tal-strip 2 to see where I could buy some in the GTA and noticed the OFC website and thought it was a new post and replied, sorry
  11. Duffins in pickering should have some in there also.
  12. There are definately alot of scams on Craiglist and Kijiji . I saw this boat advertised and it looked like a pretty good deal . It was on a Minneapolis craiglist on Sitemash. G3 V167 Angler with w/ 4 stroke Yamaha 50hp still under Warrenty - $9750 (Eden Prairie) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2010-04-02, 2:23PM CDT Reply to: see below -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a G3 167 Angler for sale still under warranty. This boat was purchased new from Gander Mountain in the Spring of 2008. It still has a full warranty until 2011 for the motor and the boat (parts) is under warranty for 10 years and a lifetime warranty for the hull. This is a beautiful boat and motor combination. Yamaha 4 stroke motors are considered the best there are. Absolutely no issues with anything. The only reason I am selling is because I sold my cabin in Canada where this boat was and I really don't have a need for a boat this large. I have used this boat and motor combination only 4 times since I purchased it and it has less than 40 hours on it total. It also includes also includes, a G3 trailer (with lifetime license and removable tounge), Wave Wackers, 3 boat seats, battery (with main shut off switch), gas tank, Eagle Fish Mark 320, free 3 year fishing license refund from G3, and an Easy Troll Trolling Plate. New this package would cost over $15,000 plus tax and extras. I own the boat outright so the title trasfer will be very easy. In otherwords, everything is in my name. My loss is your gain in this deal. Please call 952-956-2774 if interested. Phone calls only. Please no e-mails.
  13. no, I also put a split shot before the sinker which stops the floating roebag from going to the surface ,so it sits 6-18 inches off bottom.
  14. I usually try and cast it as far as I can, waders are not needed where I fish. I think when I cast out it is 8-10 feet deep where my bait lands. For me where I fish if there is a north wind it is alot easier to see the bites. When you see a bite I'd recommed picking up your rod and see if you can feel the fish on your line and if so, set the hook.
  15. I try and use a 4000 series spinning reel as they hold a little more line just incase the fish goes for a long run, I use 1-2 oz sinkers the heavier the better to get your bait out there(try finding flat sinkers as they will not roll as much as the barrel sinkers.). Put the sinker on,then use a swiwel and then a fluorcarbon leader about 6-18 inches long, this way your bait will be off bottom 6-18 inches). Floating roe bags are the key in some of the places I have tried and early morning 6-9 is usually best.
  16. A couple of years ago I was fishing on Georgian Bay and hooked into a nice size smallie, I asked Tbayboy if he could grab it for me as it was a nice size,he was kneeling down on the back deck of the boat and we were going to take a picture when the fish flipped back into the water. I think I said 'I can't believe you just lost my fish' jokingly, and he reached over to grab it and his momentum carried him into the water. At the time I didn't laugh because he could have hurt himself ,which he didn't. But now I can laugh about it. Luckily I had extra clothing in the boat and after changing we continued fishing the rest of the day.
  17. I also bought one, for the price I think they are a pretty good deal. They should be good for bass and pike.
  18. you can check out this site , type in 'sitemash' in google and search for Cheetah, lots of them for sale.
  19. as someone said above putting some dish soap in the water will help alot. I stripped some wallpaper a couple of weeks ago and had to soak the paper three times to get it all off, after peeling off the vinyl on top.
  20. try oodle.com ,you can select the state ,city and distance from city good luck
  21. I think for the reel trade-in you can purchase a $10 reel from the store and still save money on the trade-in plan. Incase you don't have any reels to trade in. for a first baitcast a Citica or a Curado are great reels.
  22. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/shiffy/IMG_0006-8.jpg musky seem to like this bait where ever I go,this is a 10" grandma or jake
  23. there was around 20 left ,but was told they have more in the back. I bought the firetiger jointed one and the 'jack' glide bait. I think to jointed ones are a little small as a big fish would probably swallow the bait and make it difficult to get out. If it was me I'd return some of the jointed ones you bought and buy a grandma or jake (firetiger or perch color)or a double d bait (10 inch baits). I'd also recommend a topwater prop bait of some kind. my list would include knipex cutters 2 spinner baits M&G's glide bait topwater prop bait 10" grandma or jake for trolling
  24. I was at Bass Pro tonight and picked up one of those savgagegear jointed baits, and a glide bait . The jointed ones seem a little small though but the glide baits are ok . If I were you I'd buy two M&G musky spinnerbaits , one black/chartruese and black/orange. Lebaron's sells them cheaper so take a copy off the website or take a lebaron's catalog and they may do a price match. Also pick up some Mustad 8/0 treble hooks, some split rings and I'll pm you how I modify the spinnerbaits. Knipex cutters are nice when cutting hooks to save the fish from possibly dying.
