  1. Thanks guys. I feel truly lucky to live and work on lac seul.... all of these fish were just 'pleasure' trips though, with friends. We're trolling between 1.7-3mph this time of year. These fish are pretty clean, Roy. You do get some with net rash and split fins, etc. though. They just seem like big, healthy muskies in this lake, from what I've seen. Other then that, I don't have any scientific info wrt disease to back it up with. I think their size and quality appearance has a lot to do with the size (large) of Lac Seul and lower angling pressure then other water bodies. It's not necessarily a N. Ontario thing either.... lots of places in South and Central Ontario with big, clean muskies. Not sure if that helps answer your question or not.
  2. Over the last few weeks I've had some friends come up to fish Muskies with me on Lac Seul. The guys who came in late september had summer weather and we were raising and catching all our muskies casting bucktails, jerkbaits and topwater. The October trip was the opposite... cold, windy and snow. We still raised 2 muskies casting and one hit on the f8 but came unpinned. We trolled a lot more and that's how we put the fish in the boat. This fish hit a cowgirl at boatside and launched 3' into the air before a quick net job. That'll get your heart pumping! A few more for my buddies. First muskies ever for these two. Cory gets one after losing a good fish the day before. My wife came out for a day hooked up while we were trolling.... she though it was going to be a muskie but turned out to be a decent pike. This is how the fall trip looked for a lot of the time we were out there. The boys still got some fish though. Jakes and Grandma's are good baits to troll up here in the fall. I'm trying to get out again before ice up gets here but deer hunting is getting in the way. Ben
  3. Good show Mike. Some beautiful fresh chrome there, for sure.
  4. Back for more I see. Very nice. Glad to see you got a nice muskie for your efforts. I'm pretty sure I know the reef, point and current neck down you speak of
  5. Looks like you and Christine made the most of a tough bite Justin. Great pics as always.
  6. Nice Tom. If it was spring he probably would have fought the reflection on the car.
  7. Another addict. Welcome to the club.
  8. TJ - this hunt happened 60k N of Ear Falls ON. The guys were staying at Woman River Camp. My good friend Graham was also there at the time and verified the location.
  9. It's no different then when I harvest a female walleye (no matter what time of year) as that fish will never spawn again.
  10. awesome video! What a thrill! Can't wait to go moose hunting.... a week and counting.... have to catch some big fall muskies first though. Life is tough.

  15. They were purchased by Versa Electronics from Minneapolis MN. Versa has been making the units for Markum for 3 years already.
  16. I know some guys who shut off their graph when they're casting for muskies.... otherwise mine is always on, even jigging walleye in < 10'
  17. I don't see why not... every other fish eats them!
  18. Great report Matt. Glad you could make it over here to Lac Seul for a day on your way home. Next time I'll repay the favour and take a picture with you and a muskie. PS - I boated one of the fish we saw at the spot that had 3 of them on it. 43"er...on a Top-Raider... figure 8..lol
  19. Sweet find Bernie. Can't wait to see the end result of your restoration.
  20. Angling outfitters in Woodstock. Jos is the man!
  21. I sent a broken Techna AV to the above address and had my new rod within a month. This was about 3 years ago, mind you. Maybe things have slowed down or maybe I just got lucky. Also... I didn't have a receipt but I sent in a nice letter explaining what happened to the rod. No questions asked and it was replaced. I still like fenwick, a lot.
  22. Nice guiding Steve. Their smiles say it all.
  23. I enjoyed reading that very much Mike. Amazing report - Amazing trip!! The 'blue' walleye are more common then most would think. We've got them up here as well. I have heard the sun screen theory too.
