  1. I've hooked myself twice. The first time grabbing a small pike by the back to unhook and he slipped and 3 trebles went into my hand as it shook around. Spiel and Crappiesteve yanked them out and cleaned me up in no time. Second time I tried to flip a pike into the boat as we forgot the net. Just as it was over the boat it flipped off the homemade 5 odd bucktail I made and the line swung around and embedded itself into my upper arm so deep I could not move it or the tendons and nerves killed. Kevin at Lakair cut the hook. Misfish's wife Betty drove me to emerg and they gave me a local, made another incision and pushed the barb through and pulled it out. I was sober both times - fun stuff
  2. Sweet trout. Looks like you all had a good time. That sun can kill ya sometimes. I hate when it drives us off the lake!
  3. Well you got out and caught something, that's a great day in my books
  4. Ummm, I think gonna be has left the building Lew
  5. Well we tried our darndest to get team 1 a whitefish today, had a few follows, caught a few zebra mussels, but that's the most excitement we had. Ralphie was great in the boat so here's a few pics of him (he mostly slept). Try jigging with a pupply sleeping on one arm I finally got him to sleep on his little bed for awhile, but not long, had to put my jacket on him for comfort He did tour the boat a few times and went up front with Paul for awhile. I had him tied up tho as it was only his second time in the boat. He wore his lifejacket there and back but it was bothering him while anchored so I just tied him up on a short leash. On Daddy's lap So a nice day on the water, but el skunkaroo for us and no whities for team 1. Sorry team, we'll try again another day. I think Paul and B may have plans for next Saturday now
  6. Well at least you got something. We jigged for whitefish for Team 1 all day, even tho Paul brought the riggers and I knew was itching to use them, he stuck it out with me. We ended up with a few follows but no takers, so skunked for the day, cept for a few zebra mussels. Nobody else jigging caught any whities around us either!! Ralphie was great in the boat tho and is a pooped little puppy right now
  7. That was cool Simon, I saw it on your youtube page. You should post it, awesome
  8. Must be cause you had the wrong captain aboard Well at least there were no bugs. Good try for the whitie tho
  9. If not, just sell it Dax Congrats
  10. I read the whole report too, great stuff man. That looked like a blast and you caught some really nice fish there. That beat up pike is a brute. Great report and pics
  11. LOL, good one B
  12. That's great B. I used to fly fish in the rivers in the mountains just outside of Calgary when I lived there. Yup, you learn where the trees are behind you real fast It is definately an artform but you get better as you go and it is very satisfying fishing to see them hit!
  13. Wow, sure looked like an excellent long weekend. Way to go Will
  14. Maybe she's feeding them
  15. Ya, but did he lose his lip grippers, looks like they went in with him Very cool
  16. Neat looking pics there, great report!
  17. Wow, looks like a little piece of heaven there. Huge laker there and the pickerel ain't too shabby either Excellent report and pics!
  18. Wow, sounds like a great one and looks like you'll be eating well for a few days Well done
  19. OMG what a sweetie B. Well Ralphie still does attack ninja style and he's 8 months old now Not sure when they become (not) puppies but he still acts like one that's for sure so I'm guessing when he's a year he'll be more like a doggie than a puppy?
  20. Thanks for the replies everyone. The first night he kept barking and whining, but didn't hide, just sat on my lap, so the second night I took him over to the park to watch when it started up again so he could see what it was all about. He damn near climbed up my body to my shoulder and clung to me shaking, so I took him home again. He continued last night barking and sitting on my lap but he did manage to finally fall alseep (probably exhausted from the two nights before). Thanks again all!
  21. Well it's Ralphie's first fireworks weekend and he is not a happy camper. Do they ever get used to it?
  22. Awesome report Simon
  23. Shake yer booty Terry Holy bug ass. Wonder if they come out in the wash or if they stay in the washing machine for the next load of laundry
