  1. Color didn't seem to matter as long as it was a dark one.
  2. Fished Lake Erie yesterday just out of Buffalo for the trophy season smallies. I struggled for a couple of hours then I found some fish that were willing too eat. In 3 hours I managed to land about 20 or so. The smallest was about 15.5" and the largest was 20" the 20" was 4.9lbs on the dig. scale. The first 2 shots are the big fish of the day This one was 4.6lbs This one was 4.3 lbs and the belly looks like it is going too explode All the fish were puking up bait as I brought them in.The area I was in was loaded with bait but they still ate my tube offering This my first season of going to the US for the smallies early season hopfully I'll find a 6+lber before the move to their summer locations. Thanks Rob
  3. Carl don't worry about the different safety regs on the american side you won't need anything extra. I spend alot of time on the lower river and I've driven right up too the US coast guard zodiac and asked them specifically about the dif. safety regs. Your good as long as you have all of whats required in Canadian waters.
  4. Damn Joey that cats got some real freaky eyes can you say X files
  5. Lots of great looking best friends here. This is Sampson my best friend for almost 10 years Unfortunately we had to put him down last May he ended up getting cancer
  6. I ask the ministry rep's at the TO sportsmen show about my card taking for ever to show up, he gave me a card with a 1 800 toll free number to call. For fishing and hunting licence info call 1-800-387-7011. I received my card shortly after the show so I never did call the number. But I hope this helps some of you guys still waiting for yours. Rob
  7. I'll keep going over to the states every week with the exchange rate the way it is I'm paying $0.85/litre
  8. I was going to recommend the Diawa Advantage HSTA but see that great minds think alike.
  9. Mike, I've been running the Diawa Sealine LC47 and the Accudepth LC47 for 4 years now without any problems at all. They have taken' a beating on the Niagara and never failed me.
  10. I was wondering if anyone knew when the next no tax sale is ??
  11. It wil not change any of my plans at all. I go state side for gas once a week, last week I paid .80 cents a litre. I fill the Jimmy up and one 20 litre can. What I save in gas I either get a little bit of groceries or some fishing tackle while I'm over in the states. Rob
  12. Muskymike it was a Christmas present from my youngest son he would not tell me the exact price just that it was around $40cdn. Well worth it for 11 episodes. I would recommend it to anyone was is into musky fishing.
  13. I just recieved the first season on DVD and I could not agree more what a great fishing show. The only problem I have with it is that now I have this insatiable urge to go Musky Hunting.
  14. Thanks for the info and links guys I'll check those out.
  15. I am trying too find the name of the hydrographic map vendor that's at the show every year.I just went through the vendor list on the shows website and could not find anything. I need a hydrogaphic map of Nosbonsing lake and if the map vendor is not there this year there's not much point of me going. I hope I missed them under the vendors list. Thanks Rob
  16. Looks more like sweaty Teddy Nugent too me
  17. Squid, it was a beautiful day out there I was out in the Alumacraft. I wish the guy in the little tinner would have been able to get in what ever he had on. He must have fought that thing for 45 min to an hour. I'm thinking it must have been a sturgeon, but I would have liked too seen him land it.I landed 3 for the day lost a couple you know on for a couple of seconds and gone.
  18. Urbanangler check out the Cabelas Prodigy or the Basspro TeamDaiwa TD Pro. Both of these reels are made by Daiwa exculsively for these 2 companies. The price range is between $99-$119us. I've been using Daiwa baitcaster for atleast 15 years never had a major problem only wear and tear for lots of hours of use.
  19. One of my best friends is close to closing a deal some rental property on Nosbonsing. Niether of us have fished this lake before and don't know what to expect. I was just wondering what the fishing was like on this body of water. I know it used to be known for some big Muskies at one time is this still the case or is it a numbers lake? Also curious about the walleye and bass fishing? Are there both smallies and largies? What is the primary forage fish? What is the lake like shallow or deep? weedy or rocky? Does it have any open water structure (reefs sunken islands) or is it more of a shoreline structure lake? What would the average depth be?What kind of weeds are there (cabbage,milfoil,etc.). My last question would be what is the color of the water clear or tea stained? I know I'm asking alot of questions but I have no knowledge of this lake at all. Thanks for any info Rob
  20. I have the 100HA its a great reel for heavy or light baits. It's the sweetest baitcaster I have ever owned definetly the longest casting reel. Super smooth drag/micro click adjustment,6.3 gear ratio and the best magnetic cast control system.I'm planning on buying another one before next spring. If you pick one up you will not be disappointed.
  21. Don't say last trip maybe I can talk you into one more upper river outing.
  22. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I just heard from a buddy who was at Queenston this morning and he told me that there was only about one foot of visiblilty. He did not hook up or see anyone else hook up.The whole river is dirty he drove up the parkway and looked down at the power plants, the water coming down the river was the same as what was coming out of the power plants. Those damn south west winds Saturday messed it up.I have another friend who is guiding on the upper today for musky, I'll probably get an email later today from him on the results of the days fishing and a water clarity report. If I get an update on the visiblity I'll post it, but it wont be till after work tonite. Rob
