  1. I'm not sure PK's reward is worth the risk. Doesn't mean he doesn't get named, just not sure he'll play much. Funny, we usually have not enough Right hand D-men this year it seems like it is the other way.
  2. Maybe that was his places numbers? And as with anything, best selling doesn't mean best.
  3. So, biggest surprise(s) today? Past players not making this years team? Young stars not getting picked? A slow vet playing on the big ice? Stamkos skated for 30 minutes yesterday. Seems like he's a lock to be named for now and they'll see how he's rehab goes for the next month. It was less then 2 months ago that he snapped his leg. As it turns out the schools and daycare are closed so I'm at home with the kids.
  4. Someone did that here at the little neighbourhood rink. What a lumpy, bumpy mess.
  5. Nice to see a hunt report. Still remember flying back to civilization with your bear a few years ago.
  6. In many cases an argument can be made for a turbo for fuel economy. Yes, some have had durability issues, but the same can be said for cars/trunks in general. If you don't jump on the gas after every red light the engine is fuel efficient, but does have the power to get up and go if you want to pass or what not. The idea for a tow vehicle with a turbo makes a lot of sense in theory, admittedly some applications have had problems. You have a "fuel efficient" vehicle for day to day use but the power to tow as well. If you mostly use a vehicle for towing then having a bigger engine is likely better then the smaller engine with a turbo but every situation is different.
  7. Our V6 highlander is rated for 5000lb. Although getting much more than 500km on a 70 litre tank of fuel is a real kick in the pills.
  8. Steven's career was also cut short by concussion issues. Stevens could play the game, but he hit people late. Even back when you had some bull leeway on hitting guys late. It's a skill to hit someone when they have the puck. It's a cowardly predator that hits someone trying to make a play after they've passed the puck.
  9. Yep, very sandy soil here. No worries for a wet basement but man the grass needs water in the summer.
  10. He won't get off so easy next time. He is too valuable and misses enough games due to injury already.
  11. I'm sure many of us have seen this before but today the conditions were right here in Barrie and the kids love seeing it. A cold day and boiling water is all you need. Just watch that it doesn't fall on you cause it's hot. Play safe.
  12. I keep "hearing" about them but I haven't heard them first hand. Not sure if the soil around here is ideal for them.
  13. Cats and dogs sometimes catch the squirrels they chase. If it was frozen then it's likely someone else removed it and Ralph just found it.
  14. Interesting article about from a reporter who was given a lot of inside access to the US team selection. Where the sleepy quote comes from. I don't know enough about the US team to know if Ryan should, or shouldn't, make the team but the question I have is: "Who's spot does he take?" And as they mention in the article if Ryan isn't a top 6 forward would he be good enough to play a bottom 6 role? http://espn.go.com/new-york/story/_/id/10195703/how-us-hockey-team-bound-sochi-olympics-was-named
  15. I might take my son out Friday. He's off school and has been asking to go. I'll likely stick to the perch areas to keep him happy. I tell myself there's always a chance for a pike to keep me happy.
  16. Try it with a hand auger. Just make sure the 9 and the 1 are already dialled.
  17. Good to see that so many Americans will get a chance at a second silver medal.
  18. CLASIC!!! Edit to add: If you know me, it is also classic that I spelt classic wrong.
  19. No worries, I just wanted the habs fan to know that he was the target of my jest.
  20. I was talking about Looking For, the street slang and the who wear their pants down low.
