  1. Back in the day when I was starting out with a baitcaster I used a line that was oval shaped (magnum brand? 7/20 or 14/40). It was thick stuff and I'd never use it now but it was easier to learn with I believe.
  2. There usually is a little knob on the same side as the reel. It adjusts the free spool. That's how easily the spool spins when the thumb bar is pressed. The tension should be set so the lure you are using slowly drops to the water and then the spool doesn't over run. From there it's a matter of practice. Some baitcasters also have another adjustment on the none reel side under the side plate that also helps with cast control. There should be videos on line to help as well.
  3. The only time the Corel/Palliadium,/scotiabank/ctc arena is louder is when the Leafs beat the sens.

  4. I've always loved the bike racing in the velodrome.
  5. Heavy rains are in the forecast. It's a start.
  6. I like these, completely impractical for my current situation. http://www.thenextbite.tv/articles/paddle-your-way-better-boat-control
  7. Assuming she is harassing hunters that are legal (Don't know that for sure but I'm guessing that's why they were filming her.) On top of that. Is she trespassing? Does she have her dogs running loose in an area where game is present?
  8. About 4kph (2.5 mph). It's a light boat and in the first 3-4 weeks I like to go 2.5kph. The drift sock knocks that down but I was wondering about other options because I hate pulling the sock. I may see what I can do with the idle but I'm not sure I want to fiddle much with what I've got.
  9. Looked a lot choppier when those kids were rescued.
  10. News showed that a ramp at the top end of Simcoe in Orillia was open. There were talking about the perch fest.
  11. Took a break from raking/yard work/garage cleaning to see this. Nice fish
  12. That could never happen cause I've never done that with a drift sock.
  13. Dec/Jan 1992. Oct/Nov 1992. June/July 1993. No braided lines and just the start of gps, but if I remember right due to security reasons gps wasn't allowed to be accurate to less then something like 30 metres.
  14. For spring eyes my boat trolls a little faster then I'd like sometimes. I then use a drift sock. Wondering if what experiences others have had with trolling plates that mount behind the prop? 16 foot Princecraft with 4-stroke 50hp.
  15. Any chance Stoll can sue Vegas for the "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"?

  16. Unless Chronzey himself wants this one you're welcome to it. I'll throw in the 50 odds Sports Illustrated from the early 90's as well... minus the Blue Jay's World Series additions.
  17. Another box of magazines from my mom's. Mostly Sports Illustrated but some fishing magazines. The artwork is Giant's Release by Curtis Atwater.
  18. Tiffin launch Friday after lunch: Ice against the shore towards Minett's point and out in the bay Btw the ice was pushed up against the shore this morning.
  19. He's better at fishing than jumping in.
  20. These birds are rising up? http://www.cp24.com/news/police-warn-of-turkey-on-the-loose-near-georgina-1.2330862
  21. Think its open?
  22. Holy crap! That is a catch!
  23. She's been absolutely perfect in the now 3 springs that I've had it after buying it from a member here. But I always assume it's not going to start and don't want to drag it, and dump it, in the lake to listen to that sound that no one wants to hear.
  24. Flipped to the Jay's game during the hockey games and saw the 9 runs by the Jays and then next noticed that I didn't recognize the Jay pitcher wearing 42 with no name on the back. Next moment realized it was Buehrle and it was Jackie Robison night. Maybe they changed the air in the dome tonight.
  25. Pulled the boat out of the garage and attached the hose. Fired right up just like it should. Come on melt!
