  1. Nothing wrong with that combo. The line you choose and use will be almost as important. If you have 2 spools for the reel you're golden. I would load one with a "super line" maybe 20lb test and the other with mono, maybe 8 or 10lb test. Line, as with rod and reels, can be a very personal thing so I'm sure you'll get many opinions. Good luck.
  2. Agreed. Radio off in the car and the house, friends and family know better, I also change the internet home page so that nothing is spoiled. Sometimes I may only be a few minutes behind live tv, but that is enough to ruin a night of chest thumpin' tv watchin' good times. I still will not forgive the guy who told me the result of the Canada v Russia Olympic game 4 years ago... after I had told him I was taping the game. Jerk!
  3. Hi guys, I realize many of us are pumped about the Olympics, including me, but we all have different work, family and play schedules. As well as many different ways to watch the games. I am asking you not to post results in your topic title or topic description. Cheer, boo, critique and lament all you want "inside" your post, just not where someone will not have a choice not to view what you are posting. The simple fact is that is if I have to chose between this site and the Olympics for the next two weeks I will chose the Olympics. That is a decision that I don't want to make because I love this place. Thank you. GO CANADA!!!
  4. Thanks, now I don't have to watch it. Some of us have pvrs and other things going on. No more spoilers please. Or I'm going to start telling people how many fish they are going catch before they head out.
  5. This guy is skiing for the States in Vancouver. I'm not sure which he is better at. http://www.wilsoncarvings.com/index.html
  6. Regular fire tiger does not "glow" but it is obviously a very bright colour pattern, that makes the lure stand out. The goal of bait fish most of the time is not to stand out. These are also aggressive fish that are near the top of the food chain, so anything that fits in their mouths is prey. The reason salmon and trout don't feed on perch often as a lot to do with them utilizing different parts of a given body of water.
  7. http://www.thebarrieexaminer.com/ArticleDi....aspx?e=2445739 MNR lays 70 fishing charges in weekend blitz Posted 1 hour ago The Ministry of Natural Resources laid 70 charges and issued 45 warnings during a weekend enforcement blitz on three lakes in south-central Ontario on Feb. 6 and 7. Midhurst District conservation officers, with assistance from Guelph and Aurora district enforcement units and the canine services unit, checked almost 3,000 anglers on Lakes Simcoe, Couchiching and St. John. Officers were on the ice checking for compliance with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and the Ontario Fisheries Regulations, including ice hut registration. Charges were issued for: fishing without a licence failing to produce a licence angling with too many lines and transporting fish (herring) unlawfully taken. Charges were also laid against individuals under the Motorized Snow Vehicle and Off-Roads Vehicle Acts, for not wearing helmets and not having proper permits and insurance for snow machines and all-terrain vehicles. Several warnings were issued under the Liquor Licence Act for having open liquor on the ice. The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds ice hut owners that their huts must be removed from the lake by March 15, 2010.
  8. Oh oh.. you're screwed. Don't buy that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas crap.
  9. Are you aloud to use a walleye lure that is in the slot??? My mouth started to water just looking at that lure... little salt, pepper and a lemon wedge mmmmmm.
  10. High and to the right if they're yours TJ.
  11. Any means every, and I'll bet that some don't always have them Wayne. In past years they have been printed late and one year there wasn't any new ones printed at all.
  12. But hard to find in many areas, and some years not available at all. Here is a link: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsF...L02_163615.html
  13. Ya, like Terry said. (Has that even been writen before? ) If the jackets are legal in the state that the boat is from. Or country for that matter. Not many boats from Brazil up here in Canada I'm sure, however. As with most things the officer's discretion comes into play. Generaly they are more consernd about safety rather than the letter of the law and trying to find out what is leagal in the state the boat is from, although the internet makes that a lot easier. Something else that I wasn't aware of (partialy because I don't use a inflatible pfd) If you don't have your inflatible on, it doesn't count as a pfd. Don't take my word for it, find-out for yourself. If you try to tell the officer that some guy on the interent said something was ok you deserve whatever happens to you.
  14. It has been a long winter hasn't it?
  15. I like the idea of the ham in the mac and cheese. I'm going try that!
  16. Chilli. Same as Grey Cup Sunday. 2 types of sausage, ground chuck, black beens, red beens and all the pumpernickel bread you can eat. And a warm homemade cheese dip to go with the nachoes.
  17. You're a reel prince Garry. The 4th Saturday in June sure seems a long way away right now, but your reports are a little ray of sunshine.
  18. ... and the relish too. I don't use it, so it wasn't on my list at first.
