Having Craig there was great. He would gas up the boats every day, cleaned some fish, stoked the wood stove, prepared the coffee at night and many other things as well.

Topwater walleye was one of my goals for the trip. I've heard of it, but not seen it first hand. The walleye were super aggressive, I really didn't use any traditional walleye lures and yet had no problems catching loads of them. Good to meet you too. I never put the two together (that is was your bear on the plane) I got to fly up front but the other guys said there wasn't any smell. My brother and I never got into the "big" pike (high 30s to low 40s) but that's fishing. Everything else was pretty much bang on.

The buoy is in the area off shore from Chapmans Landing Road in Nipissing Twp. The buoy is described as a Green Marker # E – A1 and its condition has been reported to the Canadian Coast Guard and the Chief Commanda. Local mariners are being advised that this location could be hazardous and they are to exercise caution when navigating in this area.

Type in departure and destination in google maps. It will give you the distance and duration. The distance is usually bang on. The duration not so much, since they use the acuall posted speed limits and don't factor for rush hour hassles. Border crossing time can be an issue but I don't think the North Dakota crossing would be a big deal and even a 2/3hour wait at Sarnia would likely still have you ahead of schedule. Even back in the day when our dollar was 65 cents to the buck, gas was still cheap enough to make the US route a favourable option for many.

You used it all summer and this is the first time this happened? That seems a bit odd. Mono or tape work very well. I prefer to use the mono method 'cause I like to fill the spool up a bit with some backing to save on expensive braid. Some of the new reels have arbors that you can direct tie the braid to them, I still use mono backing.

Yep, I do it at the end of each day. Just make sure you also remember to reset them at the start of the next day.

Legal? I don't think so but I don't know. I do think there is a time and place however. Remote area and you don't want fish guts (aka bear chanel No 5 ) near your site. I think it's fine to dump the guts far away. Busy lake with lots of residents and kids swimming. Not going to make you the favorite on the lake. Lots of grey between those 2 extremes.

Great trip. Don't cheap out on replacement paddles.

My mom jokes (I think) that my son makes all the trouble I was worthwhile.
