  1. A 4-1 record this season, with 2 shutouts and a 4-0 playoff series record = OWNED!
  2. I did what I could today to give winter the finger. Barbecued in my shorts and had a beer.
  3. This one? http://www.lssu.edu/arl/fishcam.php
  4. If it were to work, I wouldn't use the wood in my house.
  5. Whatcha doin' with the wood after you cut it?
  6. Every year that wolf river cam gets me in the mood.
  7. I hear ya about the inventory on hand. I understand, floor space, overhead etc but if an rv dealer can do it, as you point out, why not a boat dealer? The boat shows/ fishing shows are great places to compare and contrast different brands.
  8. That's ok, we just got a dusting on snow in Barrie as well.
  9. What, wait? You're not selling your boat for cheap then? Dang.
  10. Local newspaper article: http://www.thebarrieexaminer.com/2013/04/19/orillia-perch-festival-starts-saturday ORILLIA - Perch in lakes Couchiching and Simcoe are ready to start biting, said Doug Bunker, organizer of the 32nd annual Orillia Perch Festival. “With the open water now, the oxygen levels in the lake go up and a couple degrees’ increase starts (the perch) into feeding, which is why they’re so popular and easy to catch this time of year,” Bunker said Wednesday. “They’re hungry and there’s lots of them.” There is still ice on Lake Couchiching and one piece at the mouth of the Atherley Narrows. “Very warm weather with rain (today) in the forecast will probably do a lot of damage to that ice,” Bunker said. “Every year, we get a little nervous, but it disappears.” The perch are hiding right under the ice, he said. “They use it to hide under. It’s almost like structure to them,” Bunker said. “Once it goes, they scatter for a couple of days and then they start coming in in schools.” The 32nd annual Orillia Perch Festival begins Saturday and runs until May 11. Wednesday morning, Bunker challenged 100 anglers to go out and catch perch to be tagged. Seventy-three tagged perch will be swimming in lakes Couchiching and Simcoe for this year’s festival. There will be 70 perch tagged at $500, a $1,000 Barrie Speedway-sponsored perch and two $3,200 Casino Rama tagged perch. “They have eluded anglers for a couple years, so I think they’re due to be caught,” Bunker said of the casino’s tags. “If somebody catches them, that will certainly help support their fishing habit.” Each day participants fish, they are entered into five prize draws. “The incentive is to fish more, which the sponsors like,” Bunker said. The top raffle prize is a Lund 1650 fishing-boat package. “We always have a good response to that because it’s every fisherman’s dream,” Bunker said. The opening ceremonies take place Friday at 7 p.m. at ODAS Park. OPP Kids Day will take place May 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Tudhope Park. “There’s some great prizes to win,” Bunker said. Closing ceremonies wrap up the festival May 11 at 7 p.m. at ODAS Park. It costs adults $20 to register and for children younger than 16, it’s $5.
  11. Turn over is impacted by so many factors that it is difficult to say it will happen x number of days after ice out. The spring turn over, if there even is one, isn't as dramatic as the fall one. The bigger issue after ice-out is when the lakes stratify and again there are a lot of factors at play. The fall one does impact fishing (maybe angler's psyche even more) but it depends a lot on the species of fish being targeted and the lake itself. I don't think I've ever had issues with turnover or stratification during my spring trips to Algonquin.
  12. Flood warning/watches for Huntsville and Sudbury areas. Stay safe folks.
  13. I've never paid to put my canoe in. I've also paddled into the lake from both ends.
  14. The top of Kempenfelt Bay was open today from the southshore centre as far as I could see. With the normal west winds the ice will be done near the launches maybe in time for this weekend.
  15. The hunting regs were just released on the net this week I belive. There should be hard copies available shortly. The fish regs should be out, but maybe some stores don't stock them anymore, or can't keep them stocked?
  16. Not without higher resolution.
  17. Washington has been racking up most of their points against their division. They have confidence no doubt, but they are the best of a week group of teams. The Leafs have to play better then they did last night.
  18. I like him as well, but it's a young man's game.
  19. A butt ending penalty, just like a high stick, is not based on intent. We all know Anderson intended to butt end the guy in the face, but even if he didn't, it is still a penalty. But all is cool, you've never let the facts, or logic, get in the way. Enjoy the off season.
  20. No comment on the butt end eh? So Kadri hand punched, and elbowed him? Boy, Shanahan is going to ring him up for the rest of the season for sure.
  21. Right about now someone with the handle of Mr. Blizzard can stick it.
  22. I love winter, but for me, the middle/3rd week of March is when it can end. I feel for ya Dan.
  23. Do you think he knows that those measuring boards are "special" and are only sold to the tourists so they release more fish?
  24. The more you type the more wrong you are. How was Kardi's hit illegal? How about Anderson's butt end on Henrique? How is this not illegal? And remember, I don't need any more manure for my garden this year.
