  1. Thanks Tom, I've had Michelins on a few other vehicles but not for 10 years or so now and was always happy with them. Evidentely the Defenders are a new model but I'm sure they'll meet the standard of Michelin. I can get a set of 4 installed, balanced, taxes and road hazard warranty for $1193 out the door at Kal Tire in P'Boro. Heck of a good price in my opinion
  2. I'm putting new 20" tires on my '13 F-150 and have read some good stuff about the Michelin Defender LTX. Just wondering if anyones using them and what are your opinions...good or bad. I use dedicated winter tires so these will only be 3 seasons.
  3. For any of you newer musky guys who aren't doing a figure 8 after EVERY cast your guaranteed to be missing a huge amount of fish. Here's just a couple examples of many many muskies I've boated over the past 4 decades on figure 8's. Just something to think about if your not fully completing your cast. Even if you don't see a fish following your bait, do a figure 8 anyways and you'll be very happy with the results.....over and over and over ....
  4. I've said it a hundred times before, but nothing gets the old heart pounding better that a big musky hammering your bait 2' from the boat. Great video.
  5. Good to hear it you'll be covered Cliff.
  6. Thanks Mike but after we get back from Nippissing Diane and I are gonna head down to Nova Scotia for a few weeks. My fishing days are pretty well over now and the only fishing I do anymore are muskies up north a few weeks a year. Sure did enjoy the couple days we spent together a couple years back though.
  7. Yup, staying at Memquisit Mike.
  8. Thanks Tom, and best of luck to you too when you head north, chances are you'll do well up there that time of year.
  9. What's a bass & walleye Tom ? LOL
  10. I'll be home on the 27th Mike, let me know if you still need them picked up.
  11. I'd do it for sure Mike but am leaving in the morning and will be gone 2 weeks. If you can wait till then I'll gladly get them for you and send them out.
  12. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a 2 week musky trip to the West Arm of Nippissing and aren't liking the conditions I'm hearing with these crazy hot water temps. Air temps are sposed to drop into the 70's up there starting in a day or 2 so hopefully that'll bring the water temps down too.
  13. Pretty well everything mechanical is covered for the 1st 3 years John, I just wondered if Cliff has had the car less than 3 years.
  14. Being a 2013 is it not still under warranty Cliff ?
  15. We were at Mashkinonje in June and this next trip we're going over to Memquisit. Lakair was sposed to re-open this past spring under the new owners but as of June it didn't appear as if it had yet. They've totally gutted a few of the cabins and re-done them and I was told last year they eventually want to re-do them all.
  16. We were north of there on the West Arm of Nippissing in June for the 1st week of muskie and the weeds were practically non-existent which is really strange for that time of year and the muskie were few and far between. I'm heading back up this Saturday for 2 weeks and according to a friend that's already up there the weeds are there but still don't sound like they're anywhere near normal. Oh well, that just makes the hunt more interesting.
  17. Mike and I have spent a couple days in a boat together and boated a few muskies, he definitely knows how to handle them.
  18. I seldom get involved in these types of discussions as they generally go downhill faster than a political thread but here's my thoughts. 2 years ago my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer and went thru dozens of tests in 3 different hospitals. When all tests were completed the surgeon studied them and said "yup, you've got cancer for sure, but don't worry, I should be able to fix you up and make you well again" He got her into surgery and made a few incisions then inserted a camera into one and his tools in the others and did what surgeons do so well. He removed the cancer and sewed her up and put her into ICU and then 3 days later he said "go home Diane, your all fixed up" 8 years prior to that, my wife was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and after all the tests were completed another surgeon studied all the test results and said "yup, you've got a brain aneurysm for sure, but don't worry, I should be able to fix you up and make you well again. He opened the side of her skull, went inside and actually lifted her brain up, then repaired the aneurysm, put her brain back in place, repaired her skull and told her to spend the night in the hospital and the next morning told her she was "all fixed up and go home" Just my thoughts on doctors, specially surgeons, but as far as I'm concerned they can't be over payed and are NEVER payed enough for their unbelievable skills. And when I hear about athletes being payed tens of millions of dollars for throwing a ball around it really makes me wonder about the screwed up society we live in.
  19. Congrats on the move to Upper Buck, it's a great lake with great fishing.
  20. Your right, it was my mistake, it was 30 thousand, not 80 but still a massive bill when your not expecting it. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjjtaG8q6vOAhVCJR4KHYXVAsMQFggoMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thestar.com%2Fnews%2Fcanada%2F2015%2F08%2F06%2Fmother-left-with-30000-bill-for-air-ambulance.html&usg=AFQjCNEcwsIoNILriqFR3d1P40PWVS7XIA
  21. $45 for an emergency run too Dave.
  22. Not that I know of Dan. I can't imagine the extra coverage would be expensive, I just want to be sure I'm covered. Who'd have guessed a trip in an air ambulance could cost 80 grand.
  23. Something I never realized until last year was Ontario residents aren't covered by OHIP for ambulance service in other provinces and visa versa. The lady from Alberta who needed an Ontario air ambulance last year to be taken from Timmins to Sudbury received a bill for $80,000, although she eventually didn't have to pay it. We're gonna be travelling around the Maritimes for a few weeks in September so I want to get the extra coverage for ambulance service and am just wondering what others use for that coverage. We were down that way about 25 years ago and never knew we weren't covered.
  24. Fella I worked with did a complete frame off restoration on the exact same car as yours Dan, right down to the little blue dot on the tail light and yours looks every bit as nice....you did a really beautiful job. Those old Chevy's were gorgeous cars for sure and had a pile more style & class than most of the cookie cutter stuff they're putting out today.
  25. Funny with the mention of the Corvette and then the Ford GT cause for the last year I've been telling my wife we'd look REAL good cruising around these back country roads in a brand new yellow corvette convertible. Don't think I've quite got her convinced yet though
