  1. Some of us have been wearing that old OFC logo for quite a few years now, no sense in changing a good thing just for the sake of change.
  2. If you need to store your boat outside for the winter, alot of the marinas will shrinkwrap it for you and it could save alot of worry over the downtime it's sitting under the snow. I don't know the prices but a couple years back Bridgenorth Tackle (in Bridgenorth) told me he'd do a 16 footer for $150 but that could ceretainly have changed since then. Another good option for winter storage is barns. I keep my boat safe & dry in a barn north of Peterboro and only pay $150 for the whole winter. There's no heat of course, but it's nice to know it's not sitting under 3' of snow. There's not nearly as much space between the wall boards as appears in the picture, it's just the way the light is shining thru, but it gives an idea of some very cheap storage options that are available.
  3. Thanks for that excellent post Sean and really good to see you & Paul did so well on the weekend. Hay Bay is one of my all-time favorite fish'n holes anywhere in Ontario and you've got me pumped now...only 10 more days to go before I'm there myself on our annual pickeral hunt.
  4. Thanks Jamie, that's interesting, I wouldn't have thought a fish as big & aggressive as a 100+ pound tarpon would be leader shy.
  5. sheesh, I thought someone was giving away free eavestrough spikes Maybe I'm just gettin old
  6. Jamie, every report I ever read about huge tarpon talks about them wearing thru the fluoro with their rough mouths, so is there any reason nobody ever seems to use wire leaders ?? I also watch that Pro Tarpon show on the tube the odd time and they lose quite a few in the same way it seems
  7. Monstrous fish & a great tale to go with it, thanks for taking us along !!
  8. That's fabulous news Dave and really good to hear that things are lookin up for your dad. We got some amazing doctors in this country.
  9. I'll be in that exact spot in about 6 weeks Mike
  10. I remember that story well Glen It just bothers me when newbies ask for help and are told to go look for your own place, even though this person had to be shown himself.
  11. Dave, I'd really like to say "NICE FISH" but that's sooooooo darned hard to say about a critter as ugly as a carp But I will say CONGRATS BUD on a monstrous fish and also for hitting the 30 pound mark !!
  12. What I find interesting , is folks who are new to fishing and sign up on this board and don't know any good spots for different species, so they get other OFNers to take them out, show them different spots and techniques, but then when other newbies join up and ask where to go, the new "experts" tell them to go find their own spots. Some folks seem to forget that only a year ago they were asking the same questions.
  13. Congrats on the new boat Dan, you'll have alot of enjoyable yours in it.
  14. I use 8 inch, 130 pound Seaguar fluoro on my jerkbait rod for Suicks all the time and it works perfectly and doesn't affect the action at all, and it'll also work as well for the spoons & spinners. Best of luck on your upcoming trip.
  15. Sam appears well Roy, he was posting on Quintefishing.com just yesterday.

    Crappie day

Nice feed of fish ya got there ehg, congrats on a good day !! Always good to see folks having fun on the water Chris
  17. I turned on my puter this morning and I was logged in, then 10 minutes later it logged itself out. Every other site I visit works fine.
  18. Good to have you back Jamie, sounds like you had a blast !!
  19. Congrats on a great pike opener !! Good to see your not afraid of some nasty weather either, it always amazes me how many folks around here cancel a fish'n trip because it's not gonna be sunny & warm. WTG Ben, you deserve every fish you caught yesterday
  20. I'm still having the same problem, sometimes I'm OK and other times I have to log on every time, and then sometimes it logs on all by itself without me doing anything. I also only have the problem on this site, all others are fine.
  21. I think you guys are all just getting old
  22. Try casting 10" wooden baits for 12 hours, then you'll know what tired really means
  23. I think your secrets safe FF, nobody will ever recognize that bridge
  24. Thanks Scott, we actually camp in Dorland, east of the ferry near Adolphustown, but have been taking 33 and then crossing on the ferry since 1955. If I ever changed routes, and didn't use the ferry, it could be a bad omen and screw up our pickeral luck We've also got folks coming from Montreal though, and that's why I was checking on #8 down thru Napanee, that'll be best for them. Thanks again for the advice though.
  25. I'm sure alot of folks have felt that way Dan Thanks Pete, good to hear the roads are OK........for now anyways.
