The Tohatsu distributor in my town of Cookeville, TN will provide free shipping to any of the lower 48 states. Also no sales tax (except in Tennessee) and a 2% discount if paying by check (over the phone) instead of using plastic. Would need to have it shipped close to the border, pick it up and deal with tax when crossing back into Canada. I'm not suggesting you bypass a local dealer, but you could go online and cross check prices. My 15' Smokercraft is pushed by a 20 HP, electric start, 4 stroke Tohatsu. It's sweet. Smells gas. Doesn't sip. Does not inhale. Same as WJC when in school.

Mike and Roy, give me a couple of days. Been unpacking, doing yard work, putting my vegetable garden to bed and planning future fishing trips. I'll come up with something. 1700 miles on the odometer by coming home through Grand Marais, MN. #10 broke off at the gum on September 22 and I hope to see my dentist this morning. Gotta be able to smile Saturday morning when having breakfast with Herman Cain at 6:30 a.m. How long are those teeth supposed to last, anyhow?

Norma and I were to leave Sportsman's Lodge early on the 11th day of our stay, but heavy fog held up our flight by about 4 hours. Jim Booi made it from Trout Lake to Little Vermilion in his Cessna 185 for our scenic ride to Red Lake. We left the airways at Chukuni River Bridge, headed down Red Lake Road, crossed Bug River and took the first left onto a dirt road until arriving at a settlement of a few houses on Gull Rock Lake. I was looking for grt1, but saw nobody stirring. Making a cold call, I knocked at the front door of the second house in the neighborhood, expecting to find where grt1 lived. Bill answered the door. We finally met, after exchanging pleasantries on OFC the past few years. Norma talked us into holding still long enough for a quick photo before we headed on down the road to Grand Marais, MN and finally to our home of Cookeville, TN. Bill is wearing his lucky fishing cap and I'm the one with the wind blown hair. We missed visiting with DanC since he's in Kansas City watching fast cars making all left turns today.

Roy, those baits are beauties. Every fish should have one in his pantry.

Happiness is when I'm spending 7 days in my favorite fishing location with my favorite fishing partner/wife and we find out the plane will pick us up on the 10th day instead of the 8th day. Two extra days of fishing for us. So far fishing has been outstanding, but catching is quite a bit off. Weather went from nasty last week to beautiful this week, with south wind, until a shift to the north yesterday. The wind shift turned things around. Air was fresher. The inside diameter of my nostrils expanded. Eagles were in the air. Fish became excited. We've been able to pick up a walleye dinner in a matter of minutes, but we're getting only 3 or 4 in each spot instead of being able to stay and keep pounding them. Fish are scattered and hard to locate. Water level is extremely low which prevents me from getting to moving water. Scenery is outstanding and changes every day. Drove the 1485 miles September 22 & 23. Spent night of 23d in the airways office on couches that make into double beds. It pays to have access to the office key. We flew in early September 24 and will probably leave camp early October 3, unless weather forecasts show a cooling trend and bow hunters decide to stay a couple of extra days. Just three moose hunters,Brett/camp owner, plus Norma & me in camp. Life is great.

Geese keep weeds out of your garden. They cause a problem with young corn since they think it's a weed. I'd like having a goose for my garden and a goat for my lawn.

Since it's alone it may have recently lost it's mate. Tough time for a goose.

I may have observed you launching your boat at "Secret Lake". Do you drive a black, F-150?

Getting out on the water is great. It's not always about numbers. Now to get ready for racin'.
