The Keystone Cops go icefishing. Millennials can Google The Keystone Cops.

I've seen some big Eyes but nothing that long. I wonder what it would weight. You comp gurus here can probably do some forensic photography and guestimate it's weight.

The biggest challenge I have tying knots these days are eyesight and loss of hand dexterity. I can tie a modified Trilene without looking. I don't know what they call it today. The polymer is my go to when tossing hardware for Bass. Modified Trilene is through the eye, 6 or 7 wraps around the main line, back through the loop you made, back through the new loop spit and done. In 40 years of using this knot I can say one has never failed. I call it the Lefko knot because Mr. Lefko showed me how way back when Dino's roamed the Earth. Brian it's not that I don't like long videos it's that my attention span is shorter now as well as getting closer to my best before date.

Vehicle Insurance changes for 2019 NF

That is one wild place, or it was. There was a Beef farm near Ft. Coulange where the farmer lady would BBQ you a 1 pound steak and a jug of cold beer for something like 8 bucks. That's what you got, a steak and a huge mug of ice cold beer, no taters or fixins'. If you knew the password she had Moonshine. The password was "argent." -
jerpears let us know if you find one of these gizmos at Sail please. Will it work with flouro to braid?
-
Not ice fishing but I have lost too many good and expensive hardware trying to tie braid to flouro. I use a micro swivel on all my downrigger rods. Yes damage can happen to the eyes and or line when the swivel is spooled onto the reel. A dab of super glue on the swivel works for me. No broken line so far, around 8 years since I started long lining for Eyes on Erie ( the most boring style of fishing by the way). I plan on fishing next year and have plenty of time to practice knots this winter.

I've seen this one before, it's just as funny as the 1st time. You could play the Benny Hill song at a funeral and it would get a laugh. Thanks for the chuckle.

The best 100 bucks someone driving an old vehicle can spend is on a CAA membership. Don't leave home without it. -

I could write a book about what lengths the locals in rural Quebec would go to make our trips there interesting. Our hunt and fish camp on the Ottawa River wasn't far from the bridge at Pembroke On. going to Fort Coulange Que. But we kept going there for cheap booze and even cheaper ladies, errrr women. When we played ball in Verdun we weren't allowed to leave the motel. When we snuck out Le Sortie de Quebec followed us everywhere we went. Excuse my French. -

When I 1st tried to open the video it said "Hmm...Can't seem to reach this page". I pushed the quote feature and the video appeared then. Then when I tried to open it my lap top shut down. The bottom right of the screen said "F1 reboot" or something similar. Strange.

The closest I have come to killing myself or worse someone else is when it was legal to talk on a phone and drive. It has happened a few times on the big highways when I had the business. You hit the nail on the head Brian. It isn't just talking on the phone it is the "Oh I have that document right here" and the next thing you know I am looking for something in a folder on the passengers seat or worse the floor and not driving. I have come too close to loosing it doing 125 KPH too many times. Still scary thinking about it today. As far as big fines, it's about time. I'm going to throw political correctness out the window now. The ones I see texting or talking on the phone the most while driving are 20 something year old women. A question, is it legal to play with the GPS while driving? That is just as distracting, maybe more so. Car makers are building in more and more distracting features with all these touch screen features. I drove a newer Caddy a while back, everything had to be controlled from the touch screen except the lights and blinkers. -
That's Pancetta. It does gross me out. I remember my Father slathering bread with cold lard that they made after they butchered the Fall pig. Nothing went to waste on those massive Sows, absolutely nothing.

Drive it until it dies. I wouldn't even put the 5 or 6 hundred bucks into it even if it was better than a 50/50 chance that's the problem. -

One may ask how can you get that many K's on more than 1 vehicle. I had sales guys driving them at any given time. Our territory went from Niagara to Oshawa and Port Huron to northern Detroit where our supplier was and back. It adds up. -
One of the old timer Dock Foremen used to make fish cakes and filled his pockets with them before he had to dump a drag of ore cars. Walt would make patties of Pike. He would would chop up all the "Y" bones and ingredients to nothing. They were good, real good. He made them before going into the plant then would cook them in what we called Blast Furnace microwaves. Our welders made steel boxes that had 4 @ 500 watt light bulbs. Much better than microwaves. The offense coach of the Vikings and I share the exact same name. Weird to hear your name watching MNF on TV, which isn't a common name on. I yell to my wife "did you hear that?" She's gonna kill me.

My hats off to you Sir. We need more mentors like yourself. Brian, I think she has some pretty good DNA in her. I was bullied from the very 1st day of Kindergarten until High School. Bullied to the point of getting stiches in my head when Luker hit me with a rock. I had a list of those I was going to pay back. Unfortunately I became the Bully to those on the list as well as others when in grade 10 I grew 8" and gained 30 pounds of muscle and am ashamed to this day and still try to deal with it 40 years later. I've done my best to try and make right the things I have done wrong when I was an angry child. I can't believe I just wrote that.

Never had Pork Belly. What's the difference between it and Bacon? Is Pancetta Pork belly? Believe it or not never had that either. I want to live to 65. At the Doc's today BP was 130 over 75. I will cook with bacon drippings a few times a year but pork fat grosses me out. I haven't had bacon for 30 years. Pea meal or lean sausages I do eat. I make our own sausages.

Low oil pressure is something I thought went away with modern engines. I don't even check the oil anymore between oil and filter changes. 2003. You are going to throw good money after bad. You have a 16 year old truck, time for a newer truck I'm sorry to say, or live with it and change that oil every 5K. I'd live with it until the tranny dies. I have driven early 2000 vehicles into the scrap yard that look great. Usually it was computer related or tranny related problems, the engines ran like a clock. 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with 350,000 kms, a 2002 Dodge Intrepid with 340,000 kms and a 07' Nissan Altima with 390,000 kms. The Pontiac was rusty but the other 2 looked great but I wasn't about to spend 1000's to keep them on the road waiting for something else to go. I forgot my 89' GMC Sierra step side. The odometer stopped at 500,000 kms. It's still on the road, I gave it to my 18 year old nephew 7 years ago. I'd drive it into the ground if it were me. Put a piece of electrical tape over the red alarm and disconnect the ding, ding. -
What is a "commuted" pension? My pension payments to date is over $600,000.00. Take it early and live a few years. Everyone thought I was nuts to take it very early at 45. If I stayed until 55 it would be around 100 bucks per month per year more. I've made up that 1000 bucks doing things I enjoyed doing not working 50 to 60 hours a week and on call 24/7 with zero overtime and zero bonuses. Companies under bankruptcy protection don't usually give out bonuses for middle management. As far as any vehicle that runs on anything all I want to know is how much $ per km. I don't care if it's horse manure if it's less than any other fuel and stays less I'll buy one if the ROI is worth it. Gas is 98.9 here in Cayuga On. today. I don't think Hydro is less per KM. Is it?

Lemon juice, yes, yes, yes. Marcellaise, ain't we gettin' all fancy smansy. A splash of Worcestershire does wonders too but not both. (soya) You talkin' about us, yea you, you talkin' about us? You a funny guy Brian. I haven't heard the word Fuzz used for a Cop for who knows how long. I wonder how " Fuzz" came about to describe a Copper. I know where Copper came from but not Fuzz. Went to see a variety show at The Lighthouse theatre in Port Dover tonight. Had dinner and of course ordered Pickerel not Lake Erie perch. Had 3 scarfs of Perch in the last 10 days. Took a big bag out of the freezer that I thought was Calamari but it was a few pounds of Perch. What did the waitress bring me? Perch. Never thought I would ever say I've had enough Perch but I have. I know, I know, don't complain.

That's surreal. I've only seen something like that when I was in Miami when Castro emptied his prisons and sent them to Fla. They were locked up in cages under the overpasses on I-75. Would it be any different here if we were in walking distance from these 3rd world countries or Greece? I know for a fact that 2 floors of the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Hamilton is inhabited with refugees seeking asylum here. When Mom passed this past August the hotel was booked solid when I tried to book rooms for out of town friends and relatives. I know the GM at the hotel and that is exactly what he told me. Not fake news. Are we getting political here? I hear the sound of keys and a lock. Lets have a good conversation without getting out of hand. Facts are a good thing. I think if we stick to facts and not personal opinions or attacks on individuals we can have this discussion and continue to have it. -

My work before and after I left the Steel plant enabled me to travel the World. There wasn't one major metropolis I was in that didn't have homeless people living under bridges or shanty towns. That includes all across Japan, Tokyo and Osaka as well as smaller cities like Karashaki where Kawasaki Steel has a large plant. Places in South America I expected that but not London and Tokyo. So I don't find it shocking about Paris' homeless. "Gardening leave" is what we referred to as "Special Duties." You get an office with a phone but no jack. -

It's been a few years Huzz but the answer to your question is yes. The Walleye hit early and then nada Pickerel until just before dusk. The Pike, Perch and Ling kept you busy in between on a good day, along with cooking great meals in the huts or on the BBQ weather permitting, WWF wrestling matches and touch Football games. We also raced the machines far from where the huts were set up. I wasn't always 64, I was 24 once. edit: If your friends are newbie fishermen nothing will turn them off more than a slow day on open ice in a near blizzard like it did me on my very 1st ice experience/nightmare. Ask what size the huts are, a nice size isn't a good answer. And may I ask what are the rates they quoted you? 4 of us went to Bear Creek last Jan. mid-week and got a good rate for the huts and cottage for 2 nights. Fishing out of huts on the weekends I found many weekend warriors were out for a good drunk up and make enough ruckus to scare off any fish under the ice for miles. Like we must have 40 years ago.
