I think the question asked here was not "How do we get kids involved in fishing?" but rather "How can we make our club bigger and more profitable?" You can do both but you'll have to do the "unprofitable" part first. Take kids fishing for the love of fishing and the outdoors. Don't take them fishing because you want them to buy a $50 membership to your fishing club. That's my opinion.
I think I've used every sonar known to man over the years. I know that a lot of people love them but my worst experiences have been with Humminbirds. I now use Lowrance......have for the last 8 years or so. I have an old X-85 at the bow....just a super sonar. And just recently installed an LCX 25C at the back... just a great dependable piece of equipment.
Hey Dutch, I was at a marine mechanic's place 2 weeks ago and they were removing a large motor from a bass boat. I don't know what make it was nor the HP but it was bigger than a 100hp. They removed the cowl and screwed an eye bolt into the top. They put a hook through it and hoisted it with a lift.
In the last few weeks, I've been hearing ads (on the radio) promoting H2O Highway. They're pushing the 'ecologically sound' part of it. I wonder if they feel the water heating up under the ships due the the invasive species debacle. I will be writing them a little letter. This is the web site. http://www.hwyh2o.com/
I know, Elly. And please tell him to spell his last name properly. There are TWO 'T's in the Clampett name. Clampett is a nice name. 'Clampet' on the other hand, sounds like a plumbing device.
