  1. yeah, well...next December you can start posting again then. Thanks for all your advice this season.
  2. Tappin's great but four hands is funny and good.
  3. Gerritt, I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry. I just checked the admin logs and all I saw was that you had locked/unlocked/locked/unlocked a thread in the tourney forum. Dave....if you want to get together for dinner, Friday or Saturday would be good. Pm me if you want any info at all.
  4. When are you coming down Dave and for how long?
  5. I think the modified clinch is the best and easiest to use with heavy fluoro. This is 100lb Seaguar. The tag end is left untrimmed (about 1/2 an inch) both at the swivel and snap ends of the leader and are quite effective at keeping the weeds off the bait a little longer. If you're going to be crimping, stuffing the tag end back into the crimp will give you a better finish. IMHO
  6. Reefrunners are great. Ripsticks don't run as deep so I don't use them very often for walleye. They both work well with other species however, if you're running into pike you'll need a leader and that'll all but kill the action.
  7. Look through your list of advertisers Tj and pick the southernmost one. If they are on an island and have a beach it'll be a bonus.
  8. I suppose that my answer to the question was not geared to solving the problem as much as to teach "young friend" about being responsable for his own actions. Misinterpretation on my part I guess.
  9. No, Billy Bob, non-residents are exempt.
  10. And what would be the purpose of even trying to stage a shore lunch?
  11. Morning Cliff. If all is as you state, I think the best option for "young friend" is to make an appointment with the head of security there and state his experience in person. Going second, third and fourth hand at this point will just rile them.
  12. We want PICS!
  13. I love when you say that.....
  14. Yes, Billy Bob.....that's the patriot market. Humminbird south, Lowrance north. Motorguide south, Minnkota north.
  15. Sorry Spooked, didn't mean to offend a bird user. I'm sure the new birds are better than they were but thrice burnt is enough for me. My last 4 units have been Lowrance and I've never had anything at all but great results. I'm very sure that to stay in business, Humminbird has had to make some improvements so they're probably fine now. I've used other brands as well, I'm staying with Lowrance as long as they perform as well as they do. Don't worry about raining on my parade...being as short as I am, I'm the last one to get wet.
  16. Peter, Lowrance. Park your butt out on an unfamiliar lake with a storm coming in...I'll take effective and accurate over pretty every time.
  17. You can find them HERE! RO. Looks like a good outfit. I'm sure you'll have a great summer. Don't forget the reports!
  18. A very nice fish indeed, Garry. Great that you were able to get that winter away with Buck again. Norm is right about the snow though. Call your neighbour before you leave and ask him to clean out your house entrance. Drive safely coming back....I'm sure noone wants to hear a repeat of the trip south. Be well.
  19. Welcome aboard, Mustfish. Looking forward to your input.
  20. In a ziploc bag, in the sun, even the rice will sweat.
  21. But you were worried about the price of gas? No longer a problem?
  22. Lighten up folks. This is a picture of a child holding a dead fish. I have some dead fish in my freezer. If it'll make you feel any better, I can promise you that they are packaged and frozen HORIZONTALLY. I was also very careful not to to touch their eyes as I cleaned them not to damage their optic nerves. We have another dude on another post crying because Mercury marine is building some of its motors in China. Don't blame the Chinese, don't blame Mercury..blame yourselves. If you are not self sufficient and your children are not self sufficient, you will lose. You can't expect the company that you work for or the union who taxes you for protection to protect you against living beyond your means. Where are we going with all of this? Can we just fish now?
  23. Yeah, I'm with Larry on this one. It's just a great picture of a cute child with what might be the best meal their family has in any given month.
  24. Happy Birthday Rocket! You come from a famous family. He might have told you this story as a kid but your great uncle "Whimsey" was quite the mascot. He did all the initiation rites on OFC. His only props were a broom handle and a menthol cigarette. He was hilarious I tell ya! TJ or one of the mods might be able to dig up a video of ol' Whimsey in action for your family album. Have a great day, Kid.
  25. The header needed to be visible....as it were :-)
