  1. You should PM ADDY79. The Moon River is his fav spot. He is a good guy and will likely help you out.
  2. Adam, diff should just be capacity and a little weight. 2500 is more than enough capacity for drop shot. I say the 2500
  3. I agree with this ^ The 765 would be another good choice.
  4. Please post a report. I am going to costa rica in February and I was thinking of booking a charter with those guys for rooster fishing. Good luck!
  5. WOW, awesome report! I really wish I lived up in NW ontario. Going to have to plan a trip up that way next year. Good job and congrats on the PB.
  6. Looks awesome! Glad I am a rightly and bad with money
  7. WOW! I was just introduced to the LSC fishery this year and I can say that I will be heading down there several times a year for the forseable future. Awesome musky fishery and the bondy bait really excels there. Great job!
  8. WOW. Amazing. Congrats on the PB! I can't wait to get back down there. And thanks again for the photos of my fish!
  9. SSHHHHHH! Don't jinx it! I have tickets for the Boston game on Saturday. I can't wait to go to a game and actually be proud of this team. Its been so long.
  10. WOW, congrats Brandon! Thats awesome! I am going to have to get back down there soon.
  11. Haha, thanks Brandon! Brandon was also in the boat with Bondy and Pyzer, haha
  12. Thanks Lew. Its a great spot indeed. There were a lot of musky's boated in that area. The second and third pictures were taken from John Bondy's boat. He had Gord Pyzer in his boat for the day and they had said they were 6 for 8. We also saw a few other boats bring in fish in the same spot. My bad for telling Bob I wanted to troll. Instead we should have focused our efforts at this spot the whole day instead of just the last hour or so.
  13. Addy79 and I were out on St.Clair yesterday with Bob Devine. We had a tough day trolling so Bob had us switch to Jigging with some great success! The fish was approx 48 inches but could have been 49" if we did a proper measurement. As you can see it was a pretty fat fish for a 48. We had two other hook ups but lost both fish to "angler error". It was our first time jigging musky so...... I would highly recommend Bob to anyone looking to get out on St. Clair for the first time. He is an excellent guide and just a great person. Google him if you would like contact info. Highly recommended.
  14. I always seem to make this mistake
  15. For Largies I love the Trigger X hammer worm. They catch big bass! I like to use them in heavy lilys and on deep week edges.
  16. I use the 10' jointed on the deep ring, rod tip has to be up. Sometimes they do surface but I just give them a few jerks to get them down again. I am going by the spd on my GPS so it may not be 100% accurate.
  17. Nice SKI! I am assuming it was on Pigeon. 10 MPH is crazy fast. I thought I trolled fast with my believers at 6-7 mph. I will have to try the thunderstick. I have one in my box that has bearly ever seen the water. Great report!
  18. I would start with a frog/mouse bait and if that doesn't draw them out then I use a 10" hammer worm t-rigged with a 1oz weight pegged. Caught some my biggest bass this year with the hammer worm!
  19. Don't take the comments too harshly. These guys are just looking out for both you and the fish. Once you get the musky bug you will understand where these guys are coming from. As for your tackle, a heavy action bass rod will only be able to handle the smallest of musky lures. Most musky lures are too heavy and displace too much water for a bass rod to handle. I would suggest you go grab a musky stick. Bass pro has a musky rod series that is cheap but would work well as a beginner rod. I would suggest a 7 foot long extra heavy action rod. 50lb braid is also a little light for throwing musky baits. If 50lb gets even minor nicks in it from rocks, etc, it is very susceptible to breaking off when using heavy musky baits. I would go 80lb/100lb or 65lb as a bare min. Get an extra large net. When handling the fish, keep them in the net, in the water at all times, with the exception of a quick photo op. The last thing you want it a trashing musky on the floor of your boat. As others have said, you should grab a good pair of bolt cutters to cut hooks if the fish takes them too deep. Pigeon is a great musky lake. There are skis almost everywhere. The main patterns I have seen on pigeon are: 1) Fish roaming the weed flats in the south end of the lake 2) Fish hanging off the windblown side of shoals and reefs in the north end of the lake 3) Suspended fish in the main basin of the lake. Good luck! Take some pictures and post a report!
  20. Also if you have an iphone, I highly recommend the Navionics app. Its not a substite for a GPS but its pretty damn good for $15
  21. Glad I could help! You should post a report and share the results. Good way to introduce yourself to the board.
