  1. I had a hard time slow trolling them, seemed the blade would not rotate. That was the only issue I found with them. I know guys would jig with them too with success on Rice.
  2. I hope it stays on fire until the end of July and first week of August! As I will be up there then.
  3. I certainly can promise my issue with them was not self generated. They even admitted they screwed up. And spending 2.5 hours on the phone, speaking with 8 different people, with 8 different answers, is not good customer service to me.
  4. Decided to try a home made weed killer, since the ones in the stores weren't doing ANYTHING! And the stuff actually works. Figured I'd pass it along to fine folks on here. Keep in mind that it will kill grass too though. And best to do after the dew is off the weeds in morning and no rain in forecast. Works fairly fast too. Quite amazed. 4 Litres of vinegar 2 cups of epson salt 1/4 cup of Dawn dish soap (the blue original, mind you not sure if brand really makes a difference) Give it a try.
  5. Make that July 10th! Finally getting rid of them for good. Funny how they call you to try to get you back. I didn't even give them a chance to tell me what they were offering. Where were they when they screwed my account up and hit me for some trumped up fee's! Done and done with them. Feels good!!
  6. I haven't tested this yet but heard it works as a mosquito repellant: 15 Drops of lavender oil 3 - 4 Tbsp of vanilla extract 1/4 cup of lemon juice If anyone tries it, let me know if it works.
  7. I hope to be in your shoes very soon. I am ridding Bell for good in June!
  8. I had Goodyear Fortera's on my Toyota Highlander before, they were awesome. Quiet and significantly better on gas than the M+S tires I have on now. I'm looking for a set this week.
  9. I'll attest to this recipe as I've used it many times, turns out awesome!
  10. We did alright, between the 2 of us we managed to land 18 fish. My buddy was .02 ounces from 10th place in the Kiwanis derby, doh! The fish ranged from 2.5lbs to 10.2lbs. I can imagine the fishing for the next couple weeks being really good there. Never experienced the water temp at the opener being 47\48 degrees. Cold. Usually around 54\55 this time of year.
  11. I second pinkbike.com. Mind you I picked up a GT Aggressor and a Trek 6000, both in excellent shape, on Kijiji for $350! You can't beat that! Any used quality bike mentioned already will beat any higher priced bike at CT or any other box store. I like MEC, but you can always hit any mountain bike store and they should carry some entry level bikes for around $500+ that are solid but lack the quality components. Like mentioned, stick with a hard-tail bike. Good luck.
  12. I would love to find a place around here for some bull gills like that! Nice going!
  13. My friend and Mom had it, both made a full recovery from it in the time frame mentioned.
  14. That is unfortunate, he obviously knew his craft. The last time I seen them was in the bait shop in Bewdley. Next time I am there I will have to check on them again. They are excellent baits for all panfish.
  15. It has a worm like body with a half a ball on the tail. So the end is flat. That thing is so sensitive, the tail moves like crazy. they are just hard to find though. I found the orange one out fished the other colours they had available.
  16. I picked up a St. Croix Panfish series rod last year. 6' UL paired with a Rapala R-Type spinning reel. Awesome rod I have to admit.
  17. I believe I picked them up at Lebarons and recently BPS. Stocking up on them. There is another bait I use which I will try to post a pic of. They come in plastic tubes but no name on them and have a paddle tail. They work quite well too. I think the action of the tail is the key!
  18. Could be worse, you could be dealing with Bell!!
  19. Definitely a great route to take. Been running xbmc on my laptop for sometime now. Now l am looking at getting a box like Gerritt's. Btw, thx for the suggestion Gerritt, I will be getting the gbox now. But make sure your Internet cap is sufficient, or you'll be paying more when you go over your cap limit.
  20. So far the best bait I have used for Crappie is the micro Lindy Watsit jig in red. I started using them last year and was just insane how well they worked for me. Highly recommend them!
  21. I may just keep it without the ring, I close it manually anyways.
  22. I removed the friction ring and works fine now. Talked to my local bait shop and he said he'll order me the part. As it turns out you have to manually close the bail without the friction ring. Thanks everyone for your input.
  23. Yes I have turned it without the rotor and roller clutch assembly on it and grinds like it does with everything assembled. I think I will replace or remove the friction ring and see how that helps? Since the bigger issue now is that it is hard to turn the handle.
  24. Took it apart and I think it might be a combination of the pinion gear and friction ring? The bearing that goes around it seems fine. But the pinion gear looks fine too? I definitely notice the grinding when the pinion gear is in without bearing too. Kinda thinking the grinding is coming from the pinion gear and the friction issues with the ring. Hmm. This is kinda fun actually.
  25. Well I have a Shimano Sahara reel that has some issues. I don't want to send it in to get fixed as it would probably cost half the price of the reel. Plus I wouldn't mind fixing it myself anyways. It's hardly been used at all either and is probably 4 years old. Problem with it is that the rotor does not spin smoothly at all. Almost like there is fishing line caught underneath the spool or something. But there's not. Is there a part in particular that could be the issue? Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks.
