  1. Made the cbc. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/edmond-parent-on-online-shaming-for-clubbing-illegally-caught-fish-1.2997259
  2. 5.4 Found a 2010 Ford F150 with about 80k km under 20,ooo$ Leaning this way. After seeing others with over 400,000 km on it, seems like it has some life in it...
  3. Looking for real world experiences with either of those trucks. Looking to buy in the next 2 weeks to use for light work and towing 16 ft aluminum. F150 is crew cab, 4 x 4, V8, 95,000 km (have 2 small kids-need the room for rear facing) Ram crew cab, 4 x 4,Hemi, 66,000km Price not an issue. Lots of Fords on the road but lack of side airbags and traction control makes me a little nervous. Ram seems nice but some small complaints online so that is why I'm looking for your real world experiences. Cheers
  4. I used to work at the Keg. To this day all i eat is the prime rib and heaps of their horseradish. Its got a 'good nose"
  5. You want to be on the east side along green bay road
  6. My wife's family has been renting for 2 weeks in the summer for 25 years. Last year bass fishing was a disaster and the walleye inconsistent. Lots of small pike and a HEAPS of bluegills and crappies. Its a great lake for swimming and such but honestly, as i say to my wife, if it wasn't for her families history there, i wouldn't rent or buy on that lake based on the fishing. By summers end they drain it for the rideau and it is lowered a few feet at least.
  7. Hey folks. You have to have a certain sense of humor to get this stuff but if you go through and watch all of them I'm sure some of you will love them http://youtu.be/LvXQmMf3tP0
  8. I used to be long time listener back in 102.1 cfny days. 4 years ago I turned onto CBC radio 2 for morning and afternoon drives and haven't looked back.
  9. You can get V6 with towing capacity of 4500-5000 lbs. V8 is nice but if your using it primarily for work you will appreciate the benefit of fuel mileage. I'm kind of in the same position (2500lb boat package) and definitely getting v6. I might end up towing boat 8-10 per yr but use it everyday otherwise.
  10. I think it's a mole. Tail is awfully big for a mouse
  11. I haven't fished for Atlantics for at least 20 yrs. We grew up around Lewisporte and that's where these pics are from. Lots of "trouting" to do as well. When we used to fish them you are right, fly rod only.
  12. Not a backlash, but a tangled mess nonetheless
  13. Thanks. Believe it or not it was my first owl capture. My wife got me into birding a few years ago
  14. On our way back from a family vacation in Newfoundland we stopped by the Codroy valley and were lucky enough to see a pair. There is a sandpiper foreground. Can you see the 2 pipers?
  15. Yeah it was the biggest my dad (who grew up there and lives there) has ever seen. I always thought there was something prehistoric about... It's eyes bigger than a mans etc The trip reports are my favourite part of this board so I thought I would add something a little different.
  16. I wish i could say i caught it but it was my mother in law. It took like 15 minutes and we were convinced it was some massive flat fish because she was struggling so bad. When it broke the surface we all laughed so hard because it was so unimaginable that this could be real. And it was 5 minutes into the first day of fishing the opener
  17. As far as i know there is a commercial ground fish season, but not per say for cod. They open up cod a couple times a year for rod and reel angling and i think limit of 5 per person. (don't quote me) Ocean fishing is awesome. You literally, at times, have no clue about what your about to reel up.
  18. Hey all, These are from 2 summers ago or so. I hadn't been back home in a decade or more and was looking forward to getting into some of these Tasty sea insects. We timed it perfectly for the opening of recreational cod fishing opener If i had to guess that giant cod was around 75 LBS. I really have no idea. It was the biggest anyone had ever seen, except in photographs from like the 50's or whatever. It was talked about on the cbc radio while we were there by some old timers who thought the fishery was so good that the season should be all summer as evidenced by that giant cod caught up by bay of exploits. It was even in the newspaper. As a reference, the next biggest one which I'm holding is a big fish. Its looks like a minnow in comparison.
  19. Might take a couple tries to upload the pic. Been a while since I've done so. Ah first try. These things blend in so well that even after seeing it, noting its location i totally lost it after turning around just to tell my wife where it was.
  20. Amazing! is this where you live or a cottage? Seems like a good life either way
  21. Living on a corner house is hard on your salt dollars. Went thru 2 10kg bags this morning.
  22. Great shots. How long did you have to keep the exposure open? Have you ever done one of those fixed object foreground with the stars streaking our rotation in the background?(OBV long exposure-several hours)
  23. This thread cannot be closed. At no time have any fishing holes been revealed…Only idiots!
