Don't get me started on Nascar!!!!! What was this thread about?
-
Well put.

I agree. I used to fish in these tournaments in the late 80's when it was GM PRO BASS. Because of this experience, I know first hand how important it is to maintain a particular fish in a livewell and a fishery as a whole. If i went off the rails it was to point out existentially, how insane, counter-productive bass fishing has become-if only for the energy consumed to participate in it. Since that time i have done most of my fishing from my canoe and its been great. Sure, fishability isnt as great or the kinds of techniques i would like to use arent possible, but i make do.

People on here are so easily threatened by anyone who challenges any part of their 'outdoor entitlement' ethos. I have never been on a fly-in trip but they look awesome. Bass are my species of choice. All day long-Bass. But that doesn't mean i can't fully appreciate or at least recognize that Bass Boats with 150 HP engines and the V8 trucks that tow them are not only overkill, but consume ungodly amounts of fuel for this Hobby. P3TA? LOL. You guys are worse than Americans and their guns. Oh no- somebody tried to tell me the 200 litres of fuel i burned thru today for a limit of 6 bass is not only NOT my God given right, but also NOT good for the environment. Lets just agree to disagree. Tight lines.

Sunshine Lake Fly in Trip, great times and fishing.

Pretty sweet. Now your ruined for non-resort fishing! -
Think Big Picture, if you can. You're driving a speedboat that at best get what 4mpg? and is likely towed by a truck that gets what? 20mpg? All of this energy spent so you can blaze across the lake to catch a few bass. Ridiculous. You love the outdoors so much you can't help but destroy it at every turn? Live goes on...right.

Nice report. Thanks

I think this is more the opinion of people who fish tournaments so they don't feel bad about doing something they enjoy and not something based on study or fact. Wilde (2003) reviewed 12 scientific studies that examined dispersal of tournament caught black bass and reported that 14% of largemouth bass and 32% of smallmouth bass returned to their site of capture.

I like.

Growing up in Nfld, i would highly recommend this particular gem. Aptly named- the newfie fly.
-
Exactly. Truth be told i could care less. I enjoy the pictures and and write ups regardless. I just think its out of line to criticize the op when really, product place is everywhere. -Cheers

How is showing a lure he might get kickbacks from any different than trip reports on here that show pictures and talk about specific camps and lodges they stay at? Nice bass.
-
I would start with this And if that doesnt work i end up here
-
Should be good. I'm going to wait for the affordable Canadian Tire knock off
-
They should just release them into the Don river. Then every time it overflows the fish carcasses left behind can fertilize the soil. Plus, i dont think anything survives in the Don.

There are 3 possibilities here: 1) Its taken 2 years to figure out how to upload your pictures from opening day 2011 2) The time stamp is just wrong 3) Those were the days thread.

Those old In-Fisherman shows were the best! I remember one segment in particular where Doug Stange was fan casting from a pier for salmon/trout. It was so well done with losts of the natural surrounding shown, and his casting was time lapsed. It was visually amazing and it gave me hope for when my dad would take me out to the credit pier or southampton. I even remember and like those old french canadian ones that were from the 70's probably with two guys paddling around in a canoe that used to be shown on channel 12 randonmly He does seem like a good guy, but i never stated the opposite. I wanted a discussion on what people thought of the show. Barked up the wrong tree? Shut my pie hole? Im going to sum these up as: A) you are Charlie you are related to Charlie C) you have anger and logic issues. I was thinking the exact same thing.
-
As it says in my OP, the channel was changed. And matters not where my opinion comes from because its an OPINION, and more importantly, My opinion. The consumer, the fisherman. DO you comment on the state of politics? your favourite sports team? Are these opinions less pertinent or valuable because your not a politician or professional athlete? Whats the point of a forum if not to talk about our opinions.

Thats fine. I dont have a fishing show, so he's doing better than me there. If he's unhappy we can do a troll-off somewhere...
-
Yeah, for fuel...
-
I guess its the opposite for me. I never long line.

This needs a 'like' button

Look, i think the guy has fishing smarts. I just wish he would diversify his programming a bit. I dont mind Fishin Canada now that Reno is gone. Pete Bowman is the ultimate hoser angler
-
Its a serious comment on a televison program. If there is more than one way to troll, you can bet Charlie Wray knows how to do it. Its a running joke amongst my friends. Goes like this.."Charlie Wray coming on, casting this episode or not?"
-
This show has to be the worst outdoor program i have ever seen. Does he do anything other than Troll for salmon/trout in the niagara region? To be fair, i did see him on St Clair (trolling, of course) for musky/walleye. Question: Does Charlie Wray know how to CAST? You know its a bad when on a Saturday in the middle of winter and you turn off a fishing show.
