I have a jackson big tuna and its a heavy beast so decided to put on trolling motor. i've taken it apart and got the speed controller out. I want to extend the wires to the solo seat position but i'm having a tough time finding some wires. Where would one get some extra wires? The minn kota wires don't have any ID number so don't even know how I could match the wire gauge. Has anyone done a yak mod like this and can provide some advice?

Are you talking about the place behind the gas station and pizza place? That is sad. Nice guy. -
I'm thinking of doing a yakak trip down the grand. was probably going to launch in Paris but for take out, is there any public access points down river around brantford? probably just hail a cab back to the car so a short road access would be nice

this is my go to lure, especially the gold colour. smallies, pike, muskies and walleye in the kawarthas. they cast a mile because they are weighted. I do the countdown method and fish some pretty deep dropoffs. a foot a second is about right, reel slowly and it will go down a bit more. I do agree, the action is limited but they do work. Fire tiger is another great colour.

Looks great Brian. I've made some as well but with a dremel. I prefer shorter stems as i find the line wraps around it at times. Try a paint called Createx sold at michaels. its very bright. I just dip in primer first, then a few coats of the paint then varnish. I'm no expert but it works for me. -
thanks guys.

96 ski doo touring 340 e. I don't have any knowledge of fixing these things. Just trying to help.out my brother. I know a lot of guys here run sleds so just wanted some opinions.
-
No Joey. It will always conk out after a minute. Even if we Rev it. any more thoughts? Just hoping it's something we can fix. Otherwise we'll have to take her in.

My brother has a skidoo touring. Starts up fine but it stalls out after 30 seconds. We did a quick carb cleaning and it didn't seem to improve it. Any thoughts?

I'm taking my nephew out for some perch action as soon as he wakes. He's 12 so doesn't require a license, but is he able to keep fish?
-
Hey Brian. Let me know when and I'll try to make it. I have an obsession with simcoe for some reason even though she keeps slapping me in the face.

I've been on this board for over a year but never introduced myself so here goes. Name is Dave and do most of my fishing in the spring and fall or migratory river fish. Recently purchased a fishing kayak and i'm loving taking it out, even on the bigger lakes, although success has been limited. Also tried out ice fishing last year for the first time and I can't wait for the hard water season to begin. I'll be out on sturgeon this weekend by verulum park. If you see a big red kayak, that's probably me!
-
Finding perch on the ice isn't a problem but where do they go now in the summer months? i'm thinking of heading up tomorrow for a few hours in the kayak. maybe virginia beach area, or lefroy (only places i've been to) I'm assuming they would be in deeper water? any advice would be appreciated.

New Toy......Personal Floatation Device :)

Nice Boat Blaque. that was one of my top picks. I like that the boat is the same depth all throughout. I'm sure you'll be pretty happy with your purchase. Dig the colour too. I ended up with a jackson big tuna so I can cart around my kids and it serves my needs well. -
i was there the last two weekends and will be this coming. Where i was the weeds were just starting to peak up in around 6-12 feet of water. so i would concentrate in those depths. i wish i could help you more but i'm discovering the lake as well around the provincial park.

same here on balsam. orange boat, asked me what i was fishing for, where i'm from, how long i've been out and if I caught any panfish? they must be good luck cause i hit a walleye as soon as they left. Didn't ask for my license, or checked if i had the appropriate safety gear on my kayak. on a side note, that lake is loaded with pike now. caught quite a few off the provincial park.

I just bought one this year in march and still waiting for my maiden voyage. Jackson big tuna. I got kids so the versatility is nice. If any of you yakkers want to get together shoot me a message.

Anyone know if sturgeon lake has a decent crappie population? I just got a new yak and I'm dying to try it out. I've never targeted crappies before but it's the only thing open now in the lake. Thanks

Thanks guys. In the end I decided to pass. It sounded like too much work.
