  1. What a great vid. That was awesome. Pretty funny. I could never shoot that moose after that.
  2. I have a Nuvi 255. It's good enough for what I need it for. The higher up you go will cost more. I like the Garmin brand so that's why I chose that one. Do research on the Garmin site before you decide to get one. The higher up you go will have more functions. You can get some that have mp3 player, bluetooth enabled and so on. I don't have the wide screen model but prefer it.
  3. I went out on a boat with my brothers 3 years ago by Deer Island and we were going for flounder. We didn't have much luck then, it was July. August is better for flounder I hear. We were fishing on bottom with clams. The only things we got were sculpin. I did get something with some weight to it but when I got it close I lost it. Don't know what I had. I heard when the tide is coming in, in St. Martins anyway, they fish from shore for mackeral. They use 3 hooks with tin foil on 'em. Believe it or not, the mackeral hit 'em. They go by in schools. The guys just line the shore sometimes. You could be getting nothing but the guy next to you might be hammering 'em. I only tried for a few minutes but we didn't get anything. Haven't tried it since. Keep meaning to but just go for mostly brookies now. If you're fishing tidal waters, you don't need a license. Depending on where you are, you might get a striper too. Good luck and definately take pics when you're there whether you catch anything or not and post 'em.
  4. CTV said tonight that Oshawa is scheduled for Oct. 7th. Toronto is the 2nd.
  5. Has anybody ever plucked a ling or bowfin out of the Grand around Brantford? I wouldn't mind gettin' a ling. I hear they're a nocturnal fish though. If so, what did you use?
  6. I use a palomar for tying hooks on my float rigs and an offshore swivel knot when using swivels.
  7. Gotta say Bass Pro.
  8. Some people are morons and idiots aren't they. Too bad he didn't drown.
  9. Holy cow! Nice job.
  10. How do you manage to get all those pics on here? There's a 250k limit and I have to shrink my pics down and I only manage to get around 12 or so. How do you do it?
  11. I sure did hit the gold mine this year, when I could actually get out. Found a few more spots for next year. Would have put more scenery pics in if I could figure out how to put 'em on without shrinking them first. They should really up the max. upload size.
  12. Here are the last pics.
  13. Here are some pics I took while in New Brunswick last month. It rained for 3 weeks before I got there and pretty much every day I was there. Did manage to get in some fishing when it wasn't raining. I headed out one day when it looked like it wouldn't and it started as soon as I got in the brook. Got soaked but managed to get 4 decent brookies. Didn't get an eel this year but a friend got a small one. No stripers either but the day after I went out with a friend my brother got one at the same spot but it was too small to keep. Minimum size is 68 cm. Fished for brookies the whole time except that one day off the wharf on the St. John River. All that rain really helped the creeks. They were really low last year. Every place I hit this time was great.
  14. Stern is the ONLY reason I got Sirius. I have never had problems with a signal except when I go under a long overpass or thru a tunnel. If you haven't heard the Miserable Men on Sunday nights, you gotta hear them. Next best thing to Howard.
  15. Nice brookies. I'll be hitting them next week in New Brunswick.
  16. Definately don't throw those lampreys back, at least not alive. Good job.
  17. My brother said that the brookies that are red like that are sea-run.
  18. I watched that. Saw the commercial for it so I set the VCR. Interesting story.
  19. I used crazy glue and it worked fine but you have to make sure you line the tip up quick because the glue sets in a couple seconds. Mark the tip first and it'll be a lot easier.
  20. Any good fishing from shore there, especially for crappies?
  21. I found more today so I'm good for the year now. Now I know where to go next year. No need to get 'em in N.B. now. Here's 2 pics. Got 9 lbs. Thanks for the info on where to find some.
  22. Buster looks like you're a fan of Stern too or at least Artie Lange. Nice.
  23. That's one beautiful bird and nice trout. Nice pics.
