As part of the competition bureau review, they were required to close a very small number of locations before the acquisition would be approved. In my experience (and I am just an average worker), Loblaw has done a great job at caring about community. Would not have happened if it didnt have to.

Didnt want to hijack the other thread. I was up on the French (Wolseley Bay) last week for the week. Fishing was tough. I picked up about 10 eyes for the week and all were caught with bottom bouncers and worm harness in about 40 ft of water. So the question: I marked a TON of fish suspended at around 40-50 ft in the 60-80ft depth range. Would a dipsy be a good thing to try? Is there a good tutorial article or video on how to use them? I run braid. Thanks in advance!

If rods were to fail immediately (one or two uses) then I guess I should expect a car to fail on a test drive. I had a Compre break after using it several times and I can assure you it has been babied. Defects dont have to be immediate to exist.

My latest Compre was used on 3 fishing trips. I baby my rods like they are one of my kids. On the 4th trip it snapped between the lead guide on a 1/2 pound walleye.

I can understand the change somewhat. I guy has a rod for 30 years, snaps it to get a new one....but a 1 year warranty?!?! Please. At least give a 5 year to show you stand behind your product. I have always owned nothing but Shimano, and have had some warrantied too, but this will make me think twice about buying another. I can buy 10 cheaper rods for the price of one of their higher end and I also believe that a quality reel does more than a quality rod.

Thanks all! Great idea about the tri-pod, going to pick one up. Also good advice about taking the time to enjoy the moments and not rushing. Bringing his favourite board games to play. This kid is hardcore though. Many times I have said lets call it a day...freezing cold, tired...and he has said "please dad..lets get one more"
