  1. I have fished it a few times with a relative who used to own a cottage there. Try some of the deep drops (sheer wall straight down to deep) with a drop shot.
  2. Thanks! What was the name of the vinyl coating you used? I would really love a new boat, but spending $1k to fix mine sure beats buying new. My motor is a 2011 Yamaha and runs like a dream.
  3. Hi there. Going to be re-doing the floor and hatches of my boat. I am torn between 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 thickness. My main concern is weight. I want to keep weight down as much as possible. What experiences do you have?
  4. My boat is a 1997 Princecraft Fisherman. It serves the purpose, but I would like to redo the inside (floors, vinyl covering, new hatch tops for the storage, etc.) I know a lot of people on here have done these types of renos. Would appreciate direction to some great resources on "how to". Also, what did the average cost to do it?
  5. Alright! I am happy then! Thanks!!!
  6. Ok...good to know. U.S Coast Guard sticker says max 20. Engine purrs like a kitten and starts immediately. I am just used to faster boats I guess. Need to enjoy the ride more without focussing on just getting there.
  7. I have a 1997 Princecraft Superfisherman LX - 14ft and 2011 Yamaha F20. Loaded with bow mount, battery, gas, gear, and me (I am a big guy at 260lb), I only get about 30-31 kmph. Feel it should be more. Boat is rated for max 20 hp. Thoughts?
  8. Glad to hear its nothing major!
  9. Heading to the French next weekend. I killed them in May using minnows on a drop shot, but minnows are hard to come by this time of year. Anyone ever drop shot with a live worm? Do you constantly have to lift and drop so the worm doesnt sag or can you just let it sit there? Thanks in advance!
  10. Dara...not my intent. Sorry if you feel that you got ripped a new one. Was just trying to emphasize that solutions to problems are what the original OP's are looking for. It's like asking the question "how to stay dry when fishing" and getting a response of "stay inside". I am sure you have added a lot of value to the forum. Like I said, I have been a member for many years...but my post count is small compared to many...I chime in when I have a joke or real knowledge on a topic.
  11. Enough said. Like many I voiced a frustration. Some agree..some dont...np...just voiced an opinion. Lets let it go. Whole point was to say that if you dont have any value to add to a post..(humour like flame throwers aside) than why bother. Not expecting everyone to agree with me...but some of the long time members will agree that it can be hard to establish yourself on this site and some comments may be a turn off for newcomers as they dont understand the dynamics.
  12. Ok...it took a hole and made it "my father"...now that is funny!!!!
  13. To get valuable information like most. Sarcasm is one thing...but many posts go beyond that. Are you saying that if I dont want sarcasm then why be here? I may not be at the status of Lew, Roy, etc, but I have been here long enough to voice a frustration and long enough to point out that some members may refrain from posting due to the sarcasm. There is a fine line between being helpful / funny and being an my father
  14. I have been on this board for many years, so I feel comfortable speaking my mind. First let me say that this forum is great, but I see a pattern with a majority of posts that kinda bugs me. People ask an honest question, and they often get sarcastic or useless responses. If you dont have a real value added post, than why post? Examples: I am having trouble with my motor....response...buy a new one. Even Lew's recent post on geese went 3 pages but the legitimate responses were a page at most. We are all on here for the same reason, and I feel that some of the attitudes and responses make people think twice about posting. On here for 10 years or 1 day....any constructive post should be respected. My 2 cents. Thanks...and let the smartass responses fly
  15. Very insightful. Thanks for adding this!!!!
  16. If you wanna keep it simple..do what you said in your first post. Sure it takes 15 seconds to unscrew a wingnut to disconnect the + before charging, but it'll also save you $30 which you can spend on lures I have had a bow mount for years with the set-up you are suggesting and not a single issue. Just remember to disconnect the + when you are done fishing for the day, because some motors will still draw on the battery even when not deployed.
  17. Yes. That plug is for boats with a built in quick connect. Instead of cutting it, open up the plug and disconnect the wires from it.
