  5. Yet again another great night on the water... the weather lately has been unpredictable.. as you can see in the picture of Sonny running behind us... Be careful out there and always remember if you are fishing alone, have that life jacket on... As always the kids had a great time... and fishing beside us Sherri caught her personal best Walleye at just over 10lbs. Way to go ! Little Jigger adds that he didn't even have to jig for these ones... lol... Cheers Jen
  6. I watch Steve, Fishmaster, leave the dock everyday to head out on his charters, I have checked the weather , watched the flags sit flat against the poles and then my phone rings... he has hit the lake and there are 3 foot waves and climbing.... The weather man can say whatever he wants, once you get to the end of the river and you pass those piers you need to make a call. Fishmasters boat is a 28ft with an 11 foot beam and let me tell you it handles the weather out there, but often Steve watches guys follow him out and wonders where their heads are at. We lost a friend just recently, a very experienced boater to Lake Erie and all that might come at you. Not to mention the multiple distress signals that have come over the VHF reporting boats capsized and people in the water. It may be summer but it is cold out there and one day of fishing isn't worth a lifetime of your family being left behind. Wear your lifejackets, make wise choices from what you see not what you hear... I have come to dislike Erie, it is way to unpredictable. With the waves, wind and poor VHF and cell phone receptions it is a lake to be respected. Thanks for posting Joe, I hear exactly where you are coming from... follow you gut... always! Jen

  10. I am still trying to figure out if addiction is the right word. When there are only three things you think about it life and when you are doing atleast one of them you are thinking about the other one... well yeah, you get the point... Welcome Look forward to your posts JEn
  11. Sounds like an awesome trip and great company ... Can't wait to read the post Have fun Cheers Jen
  12. I tend to agree with Raf on this one, I have gone through my entire tackle box "trying" to catch a fish to watch one of my kids walk up and say watch how it is done MOM and they catch what I was trying too... Confidence is everything ... believe in what you are doing and how you are doing it and wha la, the secret to fishing is found! Never waste what isn't wrecked is another theory of mine... Have fun out there Cheers, Jen
  13. Come down to Fishmasters Bait and Tackle. We are in Dunnville, just East of town right on the river. You can fish from shore for just about anything and if you spend some time talking to anyone in the shop they will point you in the right direction. Let us know how you do and where you ended up fishing and what you caught. And remember have fun Cheers Jen
  14. Take care of yourself, may you walk each step forward with him in your heart... Wishes do come true if you believe! My thoughts and prayers to you and yours. Jen
  15. It seems the deer coming out of Ohio are top notch when it comes to racks. A buddy sent me this picture which he said was taken on the side of the highway in Southern Ohio... Now wouldn't he be nice on the wall??? Cheers Jen
  16. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends... Jen
  17. Looks like it weighs in around 4 lbs. Walleye are funny though, some can be long and thin with big heads and others surprise you with their weight because they are round and pudgy... hmmm kinda like ppl hehehe lol ... Nice catch by the way! Cheers Jen
  18. Thanks for the congrats guys. This season has been totally awesome for me personally with one fish after another. I would have made number 10 on the list but I knew that there would be bigger fish caught... Although it would have been awesome to send a copy of it to my Brother... hehehe A couple of days more to fish before the Derby is over... one never knows what will come next... Life doesn't get any better when out on the water enjoying every moment that passes. Cheers Jen
  19. It was a wonderful day on the water... Steve's Mom and Bob hadn't been out fishing in years and truly enjoyed the entire experience. Thank goodness the fish co operated and everyone got to catch something. There isn't a lot of time during the summer months for pleasure fishing with all the charters ... thanks Steve for getting us all out! It was a great time! Cheers, Jen
  20. As far as I know from all my time studying what kinds of fish are out in Lake Ontario I have never caught an Atlantic Salmon... These fish are Chinook Salmon which would be Pacific Salmon. Thanks for the compliment... I was thrilled... Cheers, Jen
  21. Thank you to Sonny for taking us out on his wonderful boat to do some salmon fishing out from Fishermans Pier... It was a beautiful night with only a few hours to fish. We were using dipsy's riggers and lead core and in the short time we were out did rather well. Here is our catch. I thought we might be able to weigh them in for the Salmon Tournament but they just didn't make the grade at 22lbs and under... All fish heading for the smoker with Sonny's from last night. Again thanks for taking me out... these are fish of a lifetime for me and it was greatly appreciated! Cheers, Jen
  22. Congrats on shaking that skunk Al... Nice fish! Cheers Jen
  23. 100% Atlantic Salmon ....
  24. It has been a while since I have done a post… However I have been doing a great deal of fishing. The month of July included a family fishing trip with my Sister and her family, a weekend away with our friends on Lake Ontario, a trip to Cleveland to try for some American Walleye and perch on Lake Erie, as well as several trips out on Lake Erie off of Port Maitland in search of perch, bass and walleye. I have included some pictures. Trip on Lake Ontario With My Sister and her Family! Weekend at Port Weller with Brandon and Sarah Weekend in Ohio on Erie off the shores of Cleveland One Small Perch, but we tried hard! Lake Erie this past week Walleye were being caught in 60-70 feet of water West of Port Maitland on Jets, 300 feet back running worm harnesses in chartrues, purple and black and willow leaf golds. The salmon were caught on riggers in 200 feet of water and on dipsy's 2 setting 125 back with long leads. Michigan Stingers, Moon Glows, Flys and Flashers were what worked for us. On most days the weather was un co operative, starting out bright and sunny and turning into gusty winds or rain storms. This month has been extreamly unpredictable weather wise yet we managed to preserver and enjoy every moment. Thanks to Fishmaster, Steve C., Lynette, Ed, Logan, Jr, Sarah, Brandon and my mom for joining us on our many adventures… the month was amazing when it came to spending time with some really wonderful people . The great fishing was the added bonus… Cheers Jen
