  1. It looks like you had the most amazing of years. How lucky to have been able to see such beautiful places...I am sure the pictures do not do them justice.
  2. Oh Trevy' my dear man, It is very hard to post anything that would come even close to as beautiful or articulate as one of Moosebunks posts. I still always say, well done, and read each and everyone of his stories with the utmost respect. In regards to many fishing outings, I am often left without words because I am in awe of the great fisher men and women that come to this site to share. However in saying that , on occation, I am inspired to say more. The words find me and I can type more than "well done" or "great pictures" or 'thanks for sharing"... This place doesn't judge me for the length of my posts or the content of them, this place only accepts me for who I am. Once you realize that everyone here is equal and feel, truly feel, you FIT, you will , or shall I say won't think there is any difference between you or another guy... by the way ...What do you drive, where do you fish and when? Been great today having this to look forward to come back to... Thanks for the smiles!
  3. Amazing catch for sure... and to have landed it so quickly. I have a question, and do not laugh... no one, and that means you ... whoever you are with the grin on your face! Never having caught a sturgeon I am wondering what it's skin feels like? Is it soft and smooth like that of a channel cat or is it rough like the skin you would find on a shark or a sailfish? They are a truly unique fish , so I just wondered if their skin was scales or if it was not? No laughing!
  4. I can't resist... This is mostly a male oriented forum... and from what I have been able to gather in information about the general man... he doesn't say a whole lot. He will say, nice truck, nice fish, great post... and so forth. However we all know there are exceptions to this rule and some very articulate writers here. This forum brings together a lot of amazing people from all walks of life, who put their vast knowledge and information in one place. It also gives people a place to go, to gather, and share when they are not out on their boats or on the shore beside someone fishing or meeting for coffee. All of these things are very important to all of us and the foundation of what has made this site as popular as it is. Rather than judge and comment on the quality, content or quantity of posts how about you just post to the ones that you personally enjoy and slide past the rest when they irk you? I do not think anyone's intention is to make this place feel like an old boys club. The name of the site is Ontario Fishing Community . If you define that I am sure you will have an answer to your Question! There are hundreds, thousands even of posts that give examples of what this place is... for me it is more than just a fishing site... but then maybe I am bias, or just a girl or just a fisherman or a friend or one of the strangers that wanders here from time to time. Either way, your post made me remember why it is I come here and I think that was a great thing ... so thank you!
  5. That is all too funny... however good an idea it is... Good luck finding fishing buddy! Only way to get what you want is to ask!
  6. Truly awesome, Chilli told me about the fish you caught I was amazed...Great to see the pictures! Kudos
  7. I am betting he is laughing his ass off Roy! Got home and notice that the bunks on the trailer needed replacing, the wire on the riggers was unravelling, a good four hours of maintenance needed doing! Little bratt has his feet up fishing some well stocked heavenly lake I am sure...Thanks for the comments, can't wait to get out again.
  8. Brad, maybe you might want to look for a fishing friend, someone to show you a few tricks... when I first joined this board I had the opportunity to fish with some really great people and learned a whole bunch of things. Even though I have been fishing since I was little with my dad, the knowledge here is exceptional. When you get a chance to fish with someone else... watch what they are doing... You will catch on rather quickly. It is all about putting in the time... The grand river is a great place to fish. Every Species you can wish for!
  9. Well that was the outcome... I went fishing with my dad and little sister on Saturday morning. After listening to the man coming in say it was rough and there were no fish we looked at one another questioningly...shrugged our shoulders and decided we were going out anyway. It was calm within a couple of hours. We put the lines out once we hit 40 fow. Downriggers at 20ft with spin doctors and flys back 30ft, and our beautiful day began. Two knock offs and no fish in the boat. I just couldn't set a hook for the life of me. At 100fow, we put out dipsy's on a 3 setting back 92ft with green ladder back and bloody nose moonshine lures hitting two fish within the first few minutes... Dad knew where the fish were for sure...in four hours, four fish and we were headed home. A great day on the water, lots of fun and the best way to relax away a Saturday. All going on the smoker tonight.
  10. When I take my youngest perch fishing we catch more then ever. He lets the line down and never ever stops jigging it. Nick named him little jigger, I think the perch never get a chance with him, they come up to taste the minnow and he has them hooked. It is worth a shot, no skill involved, he just truly never stops moving his line.
  11. Thanks guys, it was good to finally get out and do some fishing. The relaxing was truly welcomed as well. Jay, no need to be jealous, I think you have a great co worker!
  12. I finally had an opportunity and the time to get up to see some great friends. Arriving on Wednesday and only staying till Friday didn't give us a lot of time to catch up, however it did give me a few moments to cast a line off the dock. My gawd am I jealous of their beautiful piece of paradice. Thanks for the invite...Can't wait to get out Muskie fishing next time.
  13. Yet again an amazing report... The one fish that has managed to elude me. On my list though...
  14. I have taken Dave up on one of these offers in the past ... great guy to go fishing with...worth ditching a day of work
  15. I was there last weekend. Noted one out of all the 20 fish we kept between 6 of us was wormy. My cousin Easton caught the first tagged fish on Saturday Morning, tiny little fish it was at only about 5 inches long. Cold windy morning, we decided to dock and fish in the narrows. Great family weekend with my Dad, Uncle, Cousin and a couple of friends even though it was freezing cold.
  16. Wow Cliff , tell Sue that she is doing a great job... It is obvious just how very much you love her
  17. I'd love to see all your writings in a book one day! Your stories, adventures, catches, techniques, knots, lures, bought, hand made, handed down , collected, aquired, hand drawn maps, interjected with the trials and tribulations of family and the joys shared when the kids arrived. Your writing and photography say more than tales of just fishing stories. You see and speak of beauty and adventure as well as the meaning of friendship and comraderie. Each time you put your fingers to your keyboard and re create in words the adventure you have just returned from you touch the souls of all that read them. Again, thanks for sharing Drew!
  18. Did you find someone to fish with... ? And this worked just fine!
  19. Jen - 5 shirts - Black preferrably 3 xl and 2 large - Where do I send the money to, I need a name and an address to post it to!
  20. I spent some amazing time with my boys on Anna Maria Island, we fished everyday on the inland waters and right in the Gulf... catching red snapper, flounder, stingrays, and trout. Lots to do for those that don't fish and an amazing magical place. Dolphins out front of your beach house every morning as well as more wildlife than you can imagine on the beaches at night. Not to mention the sunsets were spectacular.
  21. I have four winter tires sitting in my garage with only January and February on them from last year... what price do you sell used tires for? They won't fit the newer car I bought.
  22. The Aberfoil Flea Market is an awesome one and I know of a couple going up Hwy 6 North towards Guelph.
  23. If it were only so easy for everyone! Congrats!
  24. Amazing Mike... Keep Believing in those miracles
