  1. One of my modified "door stop" Tip-Up..... It works great for everything I've ever caught through the ice. There are many variations of this particular set up...Just make it how you like it. As for the auger, I have a FinBoreIII 8" with offset handle and it works great...With sharp blades I manage 12-15" of ice in about a minute. Be safe on the Ice have fun. RFS
  2. I'm not too sure why my Min-Pin ended up in the pics .... Hmmm anyways her name is Paris ..she's a TERROR.. we still love her. RFS
  3. TRES COOL !!!! Great handy work!! Next time you go out , you don't even have to bring your tackle box... just bring the plaque!!! GREAT JOB!! RFS
  4. While I was selling parts and wheels and tires... The BIG complaint with ALL Manufacturers is that there aren't too many choices for tires in the 18" 20" 22" that are affordable. When I left ,I had converted at least 20 customers to a 17" Wheel and Tire combo.... Way cheaper and a TON of choices. By the way...BEAUTIFUL TRUCK LEW!!!!! Congrats... RFS
  5. I'm so glad I started making my own again... After being parked for 3 years or more that 20 years old clunker still makes good coffee...the Bailey's makes it even better. I know that it's not even 9 yet , but I'm OFF 'til Sunday @10pm. RFS

  10. For the first time in a few years .. I decided to make a pot of coffee this morning instead of going to Tim Horton's. So I did a little math..... I and my wife spend on average 12$/day at Tim's. This is what scared me.... 360.00$ PER MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the payment for a brand new 17' fishing boat or 2 brand new ATV's or Snowmobiles or that 24' camper we're looking for. But the sensible thing for me to do would be...Is to invest it in a retirement plan. No wonder Coffee Shops are popping up everywhere. ....................... Did any of you do your coffee math lately? If so how much do you spend? ..................... RFS
  11. I ended up working a double yesterday..... I have no time now until Saturday...kinda ruins my fishing weekend. 'Til then I'm stuck with the Saturn Ion..... But I picked up a T/B for 45$ and a complete head & gasket kit for 200$... so far so good. RFS
  12. Cast = Right Reel= Left I' ambidextrous when it comes to fishing but WAY prefer the left hand to reel... I feel as if I have more rod control with the right arm. throw a ball right swing a bat right hockey or golf left.. RFS
  13. My best tank was 1336Kms ..on a trip to Windsor & Southern Ontario..42.00$ of fuel. Awesome little car I'm anxious to get her back on the road.... In the meantime I'm stuck using the friggin' 06 Saturn Ion.... I hate it ,I hate it, I hate it!!!!!! My wife gets the Expedition during the winter months. @ 9.5MPG RFS
  14. Well the head is coming off today........I'll find out what happened. As for the Mileage.... BANG ON THE MONEY!!! We were also averaging 1000kms /tank Amazing little cars...And I will hold on to Her. RFS
  15. I think you're right on both assumptions. the pic is blurry but there is also a Doe here but she was ashore already.... he may have been chasing her. RFS
  16. Take pictures of the Dog and the tracks in the snow that lead to her unit, and some of the crap piles too. Show them to the superintendent ,make him notice that there are no human prints along side the dog prints. Give the super a timeline for a response...say...10 business days..If no response go to the Humane Society or a By-Law Enforcement Officer. Keep the pictures. Is this a big dog? ..Forbid that your wife gets bitten again, You can get a a can of repellent for the Mrs or a mini Air Horn for the purse. Or better yet.... befriend the Dog and train it to bite it's owner RFS
  17. A few pics from my buddy's boat while daytripping to Campbell's Bay on Nipissing. RFS
  18. About an hour ago I went outside to start the little 2001 Jetta TDI 1.9 Turbo Diesel.... started fine [as usual] 10 minutes later I went to leave with it... Lights are on but nobody home. The car had stalled... I could smell something had gotten hot... I tried to crank it over but there was nothing but a click at the starter solenoid. I got a flashlight and some tools removed the cowling and the timing cover... the belt looks like hair but didn't fall off... tensionner is nice and tight.... that belt shouldn't have stripped like that I put in a new water pump and belt in June. I wasn't around to hear the noise before it stalled ... but I sure hope that the pistons didn't kiss the valves. Looks like I'm getting my hands dirty before work tomorrow!!! RFS
  19. I used to hunt Coyote and Wolf... long range shooting .. Ruger Mini 14/.223 with 6-24x50 scope and Ruger Mini 30 7.62x39 also mounted with 6-24x50 scope. All the pelts went to my cousin a trapper.[ 90%] When I was younger 20 years or so ago ..I was a member of the National Rifle Team..after leaving I needed something to do so I started hunting the dogs. I left the sport 12 years and sold all my rifles...I'm getting the itch again. I was out shooting with a buddy a few weeks ago and found that I have not lost my touch but am very very rusty. There's nothing wrong with hunting the dogs but make sure that you have plans for what will be done with the pelts and such... always recover your animal and don't let it go to waste. RFS

  21. EH!!! I've also been using that particular doorstop setup for 20 years or more... some designs have come and gone.. I have a few modified versions of it.... here's one that I made out of a busted rod tip and an older ultra light reel. RFS
  22. But wasn't there a time when 4 meters from the water up onto shore was crown land? I remember a old boss of mine telling me that he had canoeists camp in his backyard for a weekend sometime in the 90's on the Upper Sturgeon River{downtown Sturgeon Falls}.... The Police and the MNR were called and there's nothing that they could do about it... It was deemed crown land so long as there wasn't a structure in place the same width as the property such as a dock or breakwall... for that reason his dock is now 66 feet wide. I never thought much about it.... Just rent a Raccoon costume and you'll be fine or fined RFS
