  2. Great article, thanks for sharing, when we rescued 2 guys in an overturned boat in lake ontario they wouldnt let go of their boat to swim to ours, but i agree with the author, and would swim unless im in a remote area....cheers
  3. Well with the humidity the way it is,thats what happens, thats the part of summer that sucks.. ..i hope we dont get hail to bad or there goes the garden, and not to mention cold front fishing conditions for the next day or so....i hope it doesnt screw up the lake ontario water temps as they are great right now of bommanville, a.k.a port darlington, thanks for the info cliff,im on the marine weather site right now.
  4. Nice fish glen!!!!!!!!!.. .....well done,i can taste that fish already...yummmmy walleye cheers

  7. Well our family went to my friends cottage near the bancroft area for the bass opener,so we started early sat morn, and hit a few of our fav spots, because it was so cold, dang 7 degrees out,we were tossing jigs & small cranks, and a beetle spin, into the numerous logs and fallen trees in the lake to get to the bass, and well it worked and we did well,we didnt catch any real big bass, but lots in the 2lb range, and of course lots of small bass as well and the ocasional rock bass,my bud almost caught a lake trout when he was using a leech tossing it along a steep rock wall, the trout came almost right to the boat before he turned away, and we both seen a splash and watched him swim away in the crystal clear water....and we just repeated the same tactics on sunday, and we figure we landed about 30 or so bass mostly largemouth with maybe 10 smallies, like i said all in the 1-2lb range, they were eager and scrappy,so it kept us busy. the majority of our bass came from casting to structure, and man this lake has stumps, fallen trees, huge boulders, shallow weed flats as well as structure near deep drop offs,so there is so much to fish its amazing..i also had time to spend with my little daughter, who just loves fishing, and her and i went fishing and had a great boat ride all around the lake, she caught lots of rock bass and sunfish, she just loved it...i think i am going to have a fishing companion for life, all she wanted to do all weekend is fish with me she couldnt get enough...so here is some pics of everything, from my buds place....so enjoy.....i was hoping that the lakair trip wasnt on the bass opener so we could have come, but for about 15yrs i have always had the bass opener at my friends place so maybe next year,
  8. Well done cliff, now you got the real hard 5 more to get.. .lol...lol... congrats, cheers
  9. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!........ ............... Thats a huge bass,
  10. Its too bad,and its a wonder that with all that runoff & farm pesticides that the fish are even safe to eat,.. ..the guide to eating sportfish in ontario gives the lake a really good rating for eating fish,so it makes ya wonder right????? well if seems like it is [hsv] and it will now move to sturgeon lake and so on,and on, so we will now have to wait and see.....now its just another reason for not ever liking that weed infested swamp that they call scugog......
  11. Glad you had a great time & enjoyed all the company ,ill try to make it next year....cheers

  13. Yes there is a better spot than bewdley if you continue past there on hwy 9 keep going straight past there about 5mins till you come to a 4 way stop sign, thats gores landing turn left follow it down the big hill to the bottom...there you will see the public govt.dock, there is ok fishing there sometimes with walleyes being caught there quite a bit,and earlier in the season they get crappies there as well, its easy to find, try it you never know,my friend fished there for years, off the dock and lots of times he did quite good....you stand a good chance of even getting the odd muskie from the dock...hope this helps good-luck cheers
