man you stole the words outta my mouth..... Whats a price on a trip like this anyways? -
Actually yes, I brought it up last year. And this year we were going to Jamica in March but decided to do that in October and she brought this up for March, So after 10yrs she certainly a keeper

Alright so I know I want to fish Nipigon so Anybody know of any operators out that way? Again I did look but can not find anything really related with ice fishing nipigon and operators. Looking to fish the day and if the price is right maybe sleep in the hut if not a dive hotel will do. Possibly before hitting nipigon, maybe take the 11 from North bay and check out Timmins, kapuskasing hearst and follow that through to Nipigon. Then on the way home take the 17 possibly and follow that around the great lakes. So I think that is the game plan. With that in mind anyone have any suggestions on where to stop or rent sleds for a couple hours in that area?? There is a place called Cedar Meadows in Timmins and my gf seems to like that and they offer accommodations and activities there where you can feed moose and such so that seems good other than that it is near impossible to find the info thanx again

Ahah You have got the right idea, no better way than that.
-
Just bumping it

thnx for the info, im not that particular about the sleds i just thought that would be a easy way of getting her a glimpse of the country. Some places do trail rides with horses some do hayride tours. I find it impossible to find the info I am looking for. So hopefully someone here can guide me in the right direction

Well I got the best news this year so far, that my girlfriend wants to explore what the North has to offer in March we are from the Niagara Region . She has never been past Barrie and would love to show her the Majestic great white North and what it has to offer. What I am looking for is information to where I should take her. We are not really to concerned about length of drive would like to keep it under 16-18hrs if possible. I would love a area that we can possibly rent a sled if there is snow which around March 7 I would assume there would be snow maybe spend a day or two exploring with rented sleds and then spend a day ice fishing with a operator. I want to make sure we get at least as far as LSPP or Lake superior in general. She ha So IF it is possible 1) Need ideas of where to go, Nipigon, LOTW, Lac Seul, LSPP. Algoma. I really do not know just looking for the best options for some of the most beautiful and interactive areas where someone who wants to either take a tour of the area or cruise the area in Rented sleds 2) Also going to base some of the decision on where we will be ice fishing. So if I can get some ideas on where to fish that would be great as well. I am not much of into ice fishing but would love to try for splakes, brook trout, lakers, whitefish maybe walleye i was thinking Nipigon but am very open to any suggestions. I know I am asking for a lot but I just want to make sure she sees all she can see within a 5 day period also want to show her what this ice fishing thing is all about and whats a better place to do it than the great white north. Thank you in advance

Thats good info for sure, TY. Is there one thats similar that would be easier in the wind. I am Kind of a loaner when it comes to ice fishing and more than likely would be setting it up myself. Was looking at maybe getting the one irishfield is selling looks like a heck of a deal just a 7hr round trip is hard to find the time to do that.

Was possibly thinking of pulling the trigger on a Clam Expedition Ice Fishing hut without the floor. I am having issues finding a review for this. Is there anyone who has used this or could possibly recommend something in the 200ish area that would be similar. Looking to buy it for thursday so kind of short notice. I am in the Niagara area This is the link http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...=0076919125269a

I really have nothing constructive to add but HOLY crap man that looks bad ass

Peace and tranquility, Also I need a addiction and fishing seems to fill the void pretty good.

Steve said to wait a cold day or 2 he doesnt recommend it right now. Some spots had 4 inches and right beside that the spud went through according to his website. So I think I shall wait till Thursday morning if it works out.

I believe you wrote that, enough said. Hows the boat hunting going? Take care bubba

Come on now really? That was a little childish there redneck I think maybe you should realize you just might be in the same boat. Disagreeing with someone and hating them are 2 completely different things. Sorry but your a tool.

Thanks John, I will check it out for sure, I am kinda liking the thought of a 11ft or 11.5 more or less for the Niagara, guess i have to hold them to know for sure. Unfortunately I will be using mastercard gift cards I got for christmas for the purchase or I would have bought a rainshadow off of Cliff for sure, i fished with one and it sure was a work of art, mmmm 12ft 2 kicks it up to a whole new level I would LOVE to get my hands on one.

check out the Big N floats if you can find them, they are made for ice fishing and work phenominally
-
It seems when I target pike I wont catch them through the ice, but if I am fishing for Perch with a little pinhead or a emerald, there come the pike. I hear people using perch for pike down here, but everywhere I read that is illegal? I usually just use quick strikes with a 6inch sucker and a big n float.
-
Merry Christmas to you too.
-
I will check them out after christmas and see what they have. A 11 or a 11.5 for bottom bouncing would be a great time specially in the Niagara. Smallie you have a approx cost??? maybe 400-500 or close to??It would be nice to get the Ci4 and the loomis for 600-650ish but realistically probably closer to 800

thank you for the number, i will give a shout. Anyone have any experience with any of these rods?
