thanks for the replies.....definately overpriced( 86 bucks for me and 1 kid) but my 10 year old loved it. No coupons are available according to the info centre they stopped them about 3 years ago. Taking a coooler was no problems thank god it had on handle and wheels, kept our drinks and subs cold plus doubled as a seat when waiting for him on some of the rides. We fed 2 bags of marshmallows to the bears.Good times.

Looks like I am going to Marineland today,is there somewhere I could get discounted addmission passes? I thought maybe some variety stores sell them? Also what is there policy on bringing in coolers? I have not been there in about 12 years and looks like I am taking a few young people there today. thanks

Restoule is a great park and even better in september the park is practically empty and very quiet. Another very good option is Bonnechere PP the same driving distance as Restoule. The park is beautiful with alot of sites on the Bonnechere river. You can rent canoes and kayaks in the park and canoe right into Algonquin Park. The Bonnechere and Ottawa valley have some amazing scenery not to mention only minutes away from Pembroke and Barrys Bay.

London to Pembroke/Petawawa fastest drive?
bow slayer replied to bow slayer's topic in General Discussion
What about 401 to 400 to Huntsville then 60 to Pembroke? thanks -
I am driving from London area to Pembroke in the morning. Seeing there is no highway that directly gets you close i was wondering if anyone has done this that has a route they find the best/quickest? I was thinking 401 til to Bellville than taking 37 or would be taking 41 at Napanee work better?Any routes to save driving time would be greatly apprciated. thanks

we bought a brand new rockwood premier 2307 back in 2000. In the 11 years of owning it we have only had to replace the tires, and the power inverter. The furnace, fridge, stove all work like day one.I would suggest to find one with real coil matresses rather than the foam ones, big difference on the back. The add a room comes in handy for cooking, storage or just sitting in during rain showers. Also look for one with a one piece roof, the ones that are 2 piece often have leaking issues. If buying used stay away from ones that have mildew or mold(on tent material),this usually means it has been packed away wet or not vented properly, and damage is done eventually it will rot through new canvas is very expensive.Fleetwood, coleman, starcraft, rockwood, jayco all make excellent tent trailers I would stick to these brand names. Archer -we are thinking of selling ours in the spring and buying a hybrid. We just want a little more room and less setting up and packing down. I have been thinking the same that it might not seem the same(camping ) by going to a real trailer,at least in a tent trailer you still feel like you are camping.Might have to re-think and maybe buy a bigger tent trailer

I am leaving saturday for a week stay camping in Bonnechere PP. Just wondering if anyone could share some info on the park, the lake (baits, species)and maybe recommend some area attractions that would be wonderful. We are planning a day to explore in Quebec crossing in Pembroke. I am camping on a site right on the river just wondering if my son who wants to fish 24/7 would have any luck angling right on the site in the river? thanks in advance for any info.

On a lake like Ricethe lazy way would be just mingle in with the group boats that are fishing around islands, weedbeds and just pay attention, usually if you see a gathering of boats in a certain area and they are fishing ,then they are usually catching.

Using bait vs. lures... Help a newbie out :)
bow slayer replied to MichaelAngelo's topic in General Discussion
I find live bait is more consistent than lures. I actually cast and retrieve live leeches with great success for eyes and smallmouth. When I take the kids out with me we usually go with live bait be it minnows ,leeches or worms dropped over the side of the boat.It can get ugly with 3 kids tossing lures. If it is just me and maybe one other nothing beats tossing topwaters or minnow baits over rocky shorelines or along weedlines. -
rapalas in all sizes and colour s will catch fish try some j-5s,j-7s ,7-9s in black\gold,silver/black,perch,charteuse,orange.....same with f-5s,f-7s and f-9s.Shad raps in all patterns are also effective. mepps black fury ,spinner baits in black or white, jigs heads(different weights) and 3 and 4 inch grubs.white, black charteuse, yellow, through in a couple spoons such as daredevils,cleos,5 of diamonds. don't forget top waters, jitterbugs, hula poppers, all sizes and patterns will work(especially the frog ones) plus top water is exciting.

well I went with the d5000 nikon, picked it up with 18-55 lens ,55-200 lens,uv filter, second battery, and nikon bag for 700. It was bought in december and had only 300 pictures taken with it. the thing is practically brand new. Then today I get an offer for a T2i for 600. Oh well I really like this nikon. Anyone looking for a T2i for 600 bucks,I could forward you the contact info.

coed summer camp boys/girls suggestions
bow slayer replied to bow slayer's topic in General Discussion
this one looks promising http://learnhockey.com/ thanks for the suggestions. -
Looking for a reasonably priced(600/wk) summer camp for my 13 year old daughter and a couple of her friends. Would like to find one in the Muskoka area but will consider anywhere in central/near north or karwarthas. Looking for a tradition summer camp non faith based. Looking to book for a week only. Most I have been able to find are faith based or require 2 week or more stay. Anyone have any knowledge of one please pass on the info .thanks

I would suggest checking out the west arm of nipissing or the french river area(hartley bay).Lots of lodges to choose from and all are family friendly.

if you know someone who works in healthcare ask them to get you a few wipes of virox(it is used to clean patient rooms in hospitals) it will kill anything in the cooler(bacteria)Then clean with bleach or even lemon juice will work for the odour.

no muskie in commanda but there is in restoule, stormy, clear and lennon.
-
It would be right at the 3 hours from the GTA maybe a bit further but I would suggest Restoule Provincial Park. The park has great sites ,some right on the lake, does not have the crowds of some of the other parks closer to GTA. The fishing is great for walleye, bass, musky, pike and lakers. The are several back lakes that are accessible and offer great fishing. The are 4-5 camps and marinas that rent out boats and canoes. The park and some of the lakes are surrounded by crown land, very secluded areas unless you don't mind the hussle and crowds of the more popular parks.

There is a zero deductible and a 4000 dollar max claim amount per repair. The warranty is 3 years unlimited Ks.

has anyone purchased a used vehicle with a coast to coast warranty(brand name). I have never heard of them before. Just wondering how they are to deal with for repairs. Just don't want to put out 1500 bucks for a warranty and have a hard time getting repairs. thanks

there are 2 free public ramps one in Lavigne at the bridge but parking is limited. There is also one off 64 highway on Sucker creek rd. more parking there.
