  4. Doesn't matter if its cold or warm, as long as you've had stable weather for a few days in a row. Sinker
  5. Yep, just fill out the forms, and send them away. Your new card will come in the mail. My resident license is just a piece of paper right now too. I had to renew my card this year. I'm sure I'll wreck the cheap paper before I get my new card too!!! Sinker
  6. Rub your hands on the stainless steel on your sink. Wash your hands with lemon juice. Vinegar works ok too. I like the smell of whities......kinda like fresh cucumbers.......or smelts Sinker
  7. I would first think its a fuse. If you've replaced ALL the fuses, I'd then suspect the light socket is welded together, and keeps blowing the fuses. Do what sonny said, dissconnect the problem light before replacing any more fuses, and see if the rest of the lights work, and go from there. The signals and brake lights working with no running lights sounds like a definite ground issue. Sometimes on those tilt trailers, you'll lose the ground thru the trailer. I run a separate ground to each light to remedy this problem......its 99% of all trailer light issues!! Thats about all I can do from here bud! Good luck! You only have till wed to get er working Sinker
  8. Yep, what Bernie said!! Did you get out your owners manual and check to make sure your changing the right fuses? If all lights aren't working, my guess is a fuse under the hood. Get er done......the whities are waiting for ya!!!! Too bad you werent closer, I have a spare set of the lights that stick on the trailer with magnets......they have saved me a few times now!!! Sinker
  9. A thermos full of your favourite hot beverage is always something I take on the ice.......or in the boat......or to the hunting woods......pretty much anywhere really!! Sinker
  10. Yep, to get the good scores, you gotta take the hardest shots. Wait for them, they'll come. The fast moving far deer are good, but 2 in one shot are great! Sinker
  11. Didn't seem to bother the fish the last 2 days on Simcoe!! Sinker
  12. Most places use them for back up emergency lighting. If there is a place that deals with that kind of stuff around ottawa, check there as well. There is an OSSO electric in Kingston.....but still a little far I guess? Sinker
  13. Any electrical supply store will carry those batteries. I'm not talking your local home hardware, you need an electrical supplier. I get mine at a place called OSSO electric. They are in Lindsay and Oshawa. I think the last one I got was $24. Sinker
  14. I was out with Hanks huts on wed and got a couple lakers. We fished all day though, so it wasn't fast and furious. I lost 2 other fish as well. I usually reccommend Tim Hales though. IMO he's got the best outfit on the lake, and i always do well with him. Sinker
  15. I'd never loan you my auger, but I'd drill you a couple holes if you asked me nicely out on the ice. I don't loan my auger to anyone but people I know, know how to use it. If you want to ice fish, the first thing you need is a hole in the ice. So, you need an auger!!! Sinker
  16. Do you have the suction cup mount for it? I just mounted mine on some 1/2" copper pipe. I made it into a T. One piece goes across the hole, the other goes down the hole with the ducer on it. I just drilled a hole in the bottom pipe, and used the same bolt that came with the transducer to bolt it on. Done deal, works great. Sinker
  17. Good luck Will. I'm sure everything will be fine!!! Sinker
  18. Fishing for me is a lifestyle. I spend pretty much every thing I can on it. I would never add it up. Time on the water is priceless!!! Sinker
  19. It all depends on the wind. No wind......go fishing. Windy......get a hut and bring lots of heat. Also, on the really cold days, no bait.......baiting lines is a killer in frigid temps. We were out yesterday with the portables, and didn't even set them up!!! It was -29 at the launch in the morning. NO wind. Sinker
  20. d Thanks guys, We got most of them on bad boys. Green/black with a 2" tube in chartreuse. Fairly aggressive jig was the ticket. 72 FOW. The cold was totally bearable. I've been out on days when its just below zero that were much harder to keep warm. No wind and full sun is easy to keep warm!!! Sinker
  21. I cook them different every time. Filleted and fried........deep fried in batter.........baked.......smoked......bbq'd.......its a never ending list of fish dinners. Gotta love it Sinker
  22. Spent the last 2 days on simcoe chasing whities and trout. Wed, met up with Buckster at JP, for a day out with Hanks huts. Fishing was a little slow, but the afternoon brought me 2 decent lakers. Lost 2 other fish......not much luck for Buckster. I was happy with the lakers, I wasn't really expecting too much action. Today, got to the acess and it was -29. No wind, and clear sky. We hitched up 2 portables, and headed out to no mans land, to aimlessly wander the open ice in search of our quarry. The auger fell off the sleigh about 1 mile from our intended destination, so we drilled a hole. Within 5 mins Ritchie had a fish on, 10 seconds later, Frank had one too.........we almost got a triple header, but I was a little slow getting the first one....... The action never did stop all morning, and into the afternoon. We had a great mix of whities and lakers. I was having cold issues with my camera for the morning. Just too cold to operate I guess.....but I got it working after putting the batteries in my inside pockets. Once the sun was up, it was just a beauty day out there. Its not hard to keep warm in the dry cold, with no wind. Most of the time my mitts sat on the ice. We left with a few whities for the table, and I got an entry for the tourney. Heres our set up. Eskimo quickflip, with a clam scout behind. Conditions were perfect for travelling by sled out there. Can't really get much better. Conditions over all, were great. The ice has really been forming with this cold weather. I measured at least 12" everywhere today, and one spot had 15".......all clear black ice. You could see the fish thru it, it was that clear. By the weekend, there will be trucks going out there for sure.......careful of the cracks! Great day, and a great start to my simcoe hardwater adventures Sinker
  23. Yep, a beauty day. Fresh and crisp.
  24. It was quite nice out on simcoe, hauling whities in the sunshine all day -30 when we pulled up to the access, not a draft of wind all day, and pure sunshine........brought the portable and didn't even set it up!!! Get out and enjoy it while you can, it will be gone before you know it!!!! Sinker
  25. When me and Buckster got to simcoe this morning, the mercury was at -29C. Didn't see too many guys out there for some reason??? I'm going again in the morning. Sinker
